I’l think waiting and learning behind a veteran is the best move.
Absolutely.. look at Bryce young and Caleb. two big stars in the college level having rough starts
Jordan Love, Jalen Hurts, and especially Mahomes have greatly benefited by doing so.
@@topsykretts2264who was mahomes a backup too?
@@ItsjustzaAlex smith
Could of been starting on the Vikings but might have to sit behind Cousins for 4 years that’s his entire rookie contract
Through two weeks not 1 TD pass has been thrown by a rookie QB.
They are getting beat up, picked off and their confidence is being hit every game.
This is a BLESSING for Penix, especially to watch Cousins, someone who has to fight every game for his respect.
Daniel’s ran in 3 and hasn’t thrown a pick don’t get caught up in those stats
The great qbs always sat behind the vets. Brady, rodgers, mahomes, love
wise take
@@Corbin2the man said a passing td! Running in a td isn’t a passing td. His point is definitely valid. The commanders obviously forgot the lesson with RG3. Daniels will suffer the same fate eventually if they allow him to keep running like a mad man. I’ve seen open receivers yet he still wants to run. He has talent but he needs to balance it out. He should mimic Josh Allen
@@Corbin2since when did rushing TDs become passing TDs lmao
Tom Brady said it best. This era is all about rushing rookies into their position instead of DEVELOPING an elite player. Rookies never started they always were behind the flagship QB. They learned, replicated & applied the lessons they learned from the veteran. Then when the torch was ready to be handed over.. the rookie is actually ready for the NFL instead of crumbling under pressure and under DL which we've seen destroy young careers both physically and mentally.
like Bryce Young rn
CJ Stroud a goat though 🔥 💯
When the league became a model T well what else can you expect? It’s all about skilled positions now(smart teams still get the main pieces together). Spread and throw with just running to offset
Tell that to Peyton manning
Real talk my guy
I will point you to Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love. Both of them waiting paid off very well for them as players.
Neither Brady nor Mahomes started their first year.
most rookie qbs dont ever start tbh
@@nicoperez9984most 1st round QBs nowadays do start by the end of their rookie year.
Jordan love hasn't proven a thing lmao.. dude had 1 decent year and all of a sudden hes a franchise QB and one of the best in the league? I don't think so, buddy. It's obvious you're a Packers fan.
@@speakinfaxonly21 it isn’t obvious. He just said it paid off very well for Jordan Love, not the packers. He finally got to start, went to the playoffs, won a playoff game, and then got paid. Regardless of whether or not he ever goes back to the playoffs it worked out very well for him. Getting to sign a big second contract is a win. Mac Jones and Fields would love that type of security right now. Instead one isn’t playing at all and the other one is trying to beat out a washed Russel Wilson.
I got a good feeling about 9 he's going to be special.
Yes he looks really talented just standing there. He’s probably going to be the next Tom Brady
Be patient, look and learn. He will definitely get his opportunity.
Lol when he's 30
Next Mahomes
My packers just did this with Jordan Love. Before that arod and we did alright
@@solekopes1527cousins is already like 50 years old man. Dudes literally an injury or a few years off from being brought in
Cuz u know everything, eh?
Everyone talking about the helmet being on, my boy is standing. Not sitting on the bench. He's standing at full attention, learning. Respect
Yes. Indeed.
Learning? Respect? He’s 100% instigating his coaches decision which is to not play him 🤨
@@covettn423no he is ready to learn and isn’t pouting

Stay patient young buck!! You got the tools and keep learning! Your time is coming.
He can’t hear you
He ain’t young either, he don’t go time to sit a couple years he wants to get in there
@@Naheadiea lot of quarterbacks are failing today because they’re getting sent out week 1 without the time to sit and learn the game at a pro level
He’s not young. He’s in his late 20s
@@Naheadie so you saying being 24 years old is not young? 🤔
He’s hungry for his opportunity 💯
who cares
@@antoniopalomba9948 You Do You Posted Flake
He’s garbage, the huskies were held back by his poor play he had what will likely be 3 maybe 4 first round draft pick players to throw to, without that he would have been trash.
Any moment
@@brennancondon3357 i don’t think he is garbage if he is in the Nfl 😂😂
Waiting and watching and learning form a veteran is a blessing. Some don’t get the chance and end up getting overwhelmed.
A vet of being average
@@user93279😂😂😂😂
Talking down on a pro athlete for being average?
How bad are you trying to be a loser?
The greats don't. Its irrelevant when you looking at reality and not a snippet of the world. Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Steve Young, Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, John Elway, Dan Marino.
You can tell he was brought up the RIGHT way, if your helmet’s off, you’re not ready nor prepared
You never know. This could end up being iconic footage one day. He’s watching and waiting for his chance, helmet on, ready to go. This is a 🔥clip.
His helmet is on so he can hear the play calls not because he wants to be prepared to go in at any moment.
He do look ready no cap
@@MrDeath88lol he better be…Cousins gets hurt and he is in the next play
Him sitting behind Kirk Cousins will be good for him
Good for him and bad for Kirk considering this team still has obvious holes and they used the #8 pick on a backup qb projected to go in the 30s.
Coulda had one of the best linemen in the draft. The best linebacker. The best pass rusher. The best TE. The best DB. But no they took a dude who specifically won’t help them win in the near future.
It’s like the jordan love pick but worse because Penix is already like 25 years old. Because even tho the qb jordan love has panned out after sitting for 3 years, the effectively punted on ever competing with Aaron Rodgers by doing that when they were arguably a first round pick away from a SB. And by the time Love became the starter, the veteran talent on the team aged out of being elite so they had to restart with their Oline, WRs, and defense.
Again it’s working out for them so far… but you gotta wonder if they’ll ever get as close as they were with Rodgers
@@eliyarrows2456that don’t matter bro
@@eliyarrows2456retardyarrows2456. Stop commenting. You’re everywhere saying the dumbest stuff.
@@eliyarrows2456They tampered to get Kirk. They knew they would get caught, so they drafted their QB while they still had a chance. Miami lost a pick for attempting to tamper Tom Brady, they were protecting themselves in case they lost multiple 1sts. They only lost a 5th rd pick, but they had no way of knowing the punishment would be a slap on the wrist.
Gives me chills for some reason.
It’s the music. Mute the video and watch
Because, it’s the height of competition.
Definitely the music lol

Keeping Kirk honest. You know he's sweating bullets looking over at that young man.
Has his back? More like better watch your back or else I’m here
His helmet is on so he can Listen to the Play-calls from his OC and watching Kirk execute them. He's just learning and observing. Notice he takes his helmet off once the offense leaves the field.
Helmet on. He’s ready
Just what I was thinking. Anytime the backup is wearing his helmet all game you know he wants a shot at it
He’s waiting for Kirk to get sacked and injure that Achilles again 😂

Any rookie who who doesn’t just start day 1 because the team is desperate should be thankful
Your time will come, Youngblood. Keep grinding, keep watching, keep learning. Stay healthy, stay positive, stay your course. Huskies Nation
True definition of “put me in coach” he’s ready for when it’s his time
Falcons are doing a wonderful thing by bringing this young man along slowly.
This will pay off in 3 years , I promise!
Love It , We Love You Penix When Your Time Comes Make Sure You Shine . Good Game Kirk Cousins Showing Penix How It’s Done
Thats actually a vet watching another vet. By the time penix plays, he'll be 35.
This was funny when he got drafted. Come up with something better
You foul bro 😂

Hope he gets a chance and shines. To come back from his injury and perform how he did in college alone is super impressive.
After watching the others rookies who are starting right now this looks like the best move lol
Be patient my man, you’ll get your moment to shine. 💪🏼 Go Dawgs!
Just gonna go ahead and throw this prediction out there. If this is actually how he is treating being a backup to a vet then he is going to be a legend. Guys that come in arrogant, flop. Guys that come in humble, get a gold jacket. Love this!
It doesn’t matter what profession you’re in. The ones that have been there for the longest are the ones that will help you be great! Step back. Watch, listen, learn. Soon you’ll be handed the torch and you’ll lead better than they ever could.
I'm a University of Washington season ticket holder. I watched every snap he took at UW. He is as talented as anyone I've seen come through the Pac 10/12 in the last 30 years. He absolutely loves playing under pressure. I look forward to seeing him get his opportunity.
This is why I loved the pick, Penix character and humbleness. Atlanta Falcons front office saw this too. He is student of the game.
Bro is gonna be better than any other qb in his draft class.
Probably. All the others got rushed into starting positions on bad to mediocre teams. Jayden Daniel's is looking the best so far out of the 3 main ones. Drake Maye is mostly just sitting while Brissett plays sacrificial lamb behind that high school O-Line the Pats have
Father time is undefeated. He will definitely have his time to shine and he will be ready if he puts in the hard work.
This is the best thing for penix. Cousins is a solid vet and he will be better off for it.
Michael Penix Jr. will be a stud after learning from Kirk Cousins
Don’t change up now! Half of yall hated the pick a few months ago, keep that same energy.
Your time will soon come son.
All great QBs watched and learned. You will be better than anyone. Just trust in yourself bro.
Smart move. I'm glad he seems to be soaking it in. I truly hope for nothing more than the best for Penix for carrying my Hoosiers.
He’s going to be great once he finally gets his chance.
Keep working and eventually you’ll be the one teaching the rookie 🫡
A backup QB is like any other backup player with one exception. They’re all potentially a play a way due to injury, from being out in to play. But a backup WB has to absolutely ready to go when called. Paying attention to the game like this will make for an easier transition
As a Washington Husky fan, I miss him already ..Atlanta You're in for a real treat. This dude can spin it. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hopefully he is learning everything he can
He’s the only rookie qb I think will have staying power in the league. Having watched his games from about week 5 of college and on he looks incredible.
Penix was my favorite QB last year and I want him to sit this whole year to stay healthy and get stronger get wiser and learn from the vets .
The league better be ready for MPJ9 because he's gonna take it by storm
Your time gon come Mike and I believe you gonna get us a ring. Jus be patient and get them reps in
Penix will be a beast. Kirk is a solid qb to learn from.
Ima say it now. Brothers coming 🎉
Good for both. One gets to learn the other gets extra motivation
I thinks it's best to learn from a veteran for a few years. Once michael gets his chance to play he'll turn out the best qb in the class
The way he’s shaking his head is him knowing he could do better than standing on the sideline
I loved both Penix Jr and Jayden Daniels coming out of college this year! They are 2 guys I loved watching in college and hope they dominate the nfl level!
The fact that he’s clearly ready and prepared is a beautiful sign, i cant wait to see what he does when he gets his time🔥
Better to be waiting on the sideline than waiting at home. I’m proud of him and his attitude.
Watching and learning as he should.
Awe man I know it’s always easy from the outside but you’re gonna be ok young man. Nothing wrong with building
God, bless this man with patience and the grace to learn behind a veteran so he can have a long and prosperous career. Go Dawgs!
If im being Honest, Kirk Cousins is one helluva quarterback and he seems like such a quality human being, Michael Penix Jr could not have landed in a better position, he goin learn from watching his rookie heacoach and 12 year veteran qb make mistakes so he doesn't have to when he gets his opportunity
His helmet is on so he can hear the Play-calls from the offensive coordinator to Kirk. He's just Learning and Observing.
He’s being set up for success
QB’s can play into their 40s these days. Patience and learning like this gonna pay off. Must be nice to be a Falcons fan rn.
As a saints fan, I want to see Cousins as long as possible cause I know Penix is going to be a beast
Kirko carved us up that last drive 🫡
I really liked them picking him, the issue still comes down to play calling. The falcons have not had a good offensive coordinator since Shannahan
I hated shannahan he sold the super bowl for us
Penix just relax and soak up all the game! Your in the best position possible rn
*WHAT*

Everyone’s mad at the Panthers for starting Bryce Young and not letting him sit, but then everyone’s mad at the Falcons for not giving Pinnix Junior a starting job. I feel like this is good for him to sit back a very good quarterback and watch.
Hypocrisy! Truth is, They were Mad because the Falcons drafted Penix, and not one of their favorite teams. A lot of falcons fans didn’t like the pick either , wanted Jalen Carter, How that turn out. 😂 Penix is going to be a beast. Mike Vick arm strength, with Matt Ryan Accuracy add Kirk Cousins Dawg Mentality. Recipe for Greatness.
Absolute great person to learn from. What a game to learn from too. Thats how to come back and win on the last drive!!

A backup QB is only one play away from having to lead his team. Glad he is engaged, in the moment, and ready to go. He will be a good one.
Penix is my favorite out of all the rookie qbs can’t wait to see what he does in the nfl
I like Kirk Cousins. He as lots of fervor…he has always given his all.👌🏿🤙🏿👍🏿👊🏿
Aaron Rodgers. Tom Brady. Drew Brees. Patrick Mahomes. They all came off the bench. The beauty of it.
He’s actually playing as he stands there. If your the backup and your back in the bench shooting the 💩 with the other bench riders or sulking because you aren’t in the game-then when you get your chance to come of the bench you WON’T BE READY, and yowass is going right back to the bench. Make no mistake…HE’S IN THE GAME!!!
Remember young man you're the future your tume eill come
Penix in two years is going to be a dawg
Everyone thinks he's ready to play guys, kirk got a 4 year deal. This rookie will be 28 or 29 by the time he starts unless kirk does absolutely bad or retires
Kirk don't got long left he will learn a lot from him and be a star 🌟 when he get his chance 💯
It’ll be good for him.
Him shaking his head at the end is hilarious...
Y'all sure he's actually there to learn?..
Hes over there watching like "c'mon ACL🤞🙌"
Don't rush this guy... His tyme will come!
He will get his chance soon
After watching that last drive for the win he probably gained mad respect for Kirk.
Your time is comin buddy
He, because of this, is set up in a better position than everyone of the QBs starting right now
Support your team wait your turn
He’s shaking his head like he shouldn’t even be playing
Saddest thing was the head shake at the end.
Hope he's taking mental notes.
Best qb in this draft frfr
He gonna benefit from this more than he knows
Patience is the 🔑
It’s funny he hasn’t played a game in the NFL, but I just know he’s going to be a good quarterback😭
You can see him shaking his head after the play
Yea because Bijan got tackled for no gain, he rooting for his team.
Yeah, being a rookie backup would be sweet. Gives you time to learn the system, be prepared when you finally get the start. Look at Jordan love, he only had to risk injury one year before getting the big second contract
That’s the best thing he can do. Sit back and pay attention and wait for your turn. In the meantime just study study study!
He’ll be good as long as he’s studying the game and the qb he gonna replace
