Always love a sew-along. Even if I don’t have the pattern or don’t love the pattern, l will always learn something new from one of your wonderful sew-alongs!

I have sewing 35 years and NEVER saw the trick of the thread as a guide in a dart. Brilliant

I think the dress you are wearing is the nicest one I’ve ever seen you wear, it is a lovely dress and the fabric really suits your colouring

Sarah Naomi has another video on fabric shops in Kyushu, Japan. Hope you and Ginny enjoy the shops in Paris and Kyushu!

Thank you for the great tutorial! I have already printed out this pattern. Can you tell me what table you have for your Bernina?

Cashmerette is my favorite pattern company. They make fitting a dream. That said, I’m sick to death of “easy” patterns! Some of us out here aren’t beginners. We’ve been patient and completely support those who are learning. But can we please get some more complicated patterns, hacks, fabric, and fitting content? This isn’t a specific request to this channel or Cashmerette. It’s a general frustration for me and this project is a perfect illustration. I may even make it but I won’t enjoy or feel great about the outcome.😂

Cashmerette has more complex patterns--like the Canton Moto jacket. I would reach out to them with your feedback!

Because you are sew interested in traveling & finding new fabric stores 😢across the country, would you like to vicariously travel to see shops in Paris, France? I found Sarah Naomi on UA-cam: ‘Exploring the best fabric shops in Paris’ and want to share it with you. Shops are messy but unique. You and Ginny would have a fun time!

Oh that would be so much fun to dig through all the fabric!!

I can't help wondering why everyone keeps pressing the shoulder seams toward the back. Decades ago when I learned to sew I was taught that pressing shoulder seams toward the back is a sure sign of "home-made" sewing. All it achieves is that from the front, you can see the shadow of the seam.
If however you press the seam towards the front (which does not make any difference from a structural point of view), you can only see a very smooth line from the front, and the shadow of the seam points towards the back. That's what you see in Couture gowns, and it makes the garment look so much more professional with absolutely no extra work required.

I often don't follow which way I am told I should press my seams ...Recommendations have changed over the years. I decide which direction to press seams (or darts) dependent uopn the look and fit I want. Without knowing more about this pattern, I am not sure why they picked toward the back. I would probably press it open.
Directions often tell you to press side darts down-I frequently cut and press them open (sometimes adding an organza square to balance the tip and sometimes not) I often press my side darts up to "fill in" the area between my underarm and lowered bust
I was taught to press down decades ago and had this idea I was cheating until I read a sewing manual from the turn of the last century and it mentioned "padding" or reinforcing that area.
      Everything old is new again?

I don't do a lot of couture sewing, but I think you could definitely press the seams anyway you'd like. I was following the instructions for the pattern on this one so as not to confuse people!

Not really of interest . I can’t access the pattern as I won’t pay a subscription for patterns I may or may not like

There’s more to the club than a monthly pattern, of course.

You can do a one monther if its a pattern you want.
This dress isn't for me but I did watch the whole thing and took some notes.I've been sewing for a very long time and while there was nothing new in the tutorial, there were a lot of reminders of things I should go back and revisit....and a couple of reminders on things I choose to do differently
