Patient Ventilator Asynchrony | Mechanical Ventilation | Little Criticos =================================================
In this series we discuss Patient Ventilator Asynchrony
In part 7 of this series, we discuss the various Patient Ventilator Asynchrony. Broadly they can be divided into 3 types: Trigger asynchrony, flow asynchrony and cycle asynchrony.
Trigger asynchrony can be delayed trigger, ineffective or missed trigger, autotrigger and reverse trigger.
Cycle asynchony can be premature cycling and delayed cycling.
Flow asynchrony can be inadequate flow or excessive flow.
They can be flow-time scalar, pressure- time scalar, volume-time scalar.
It is important to understand these as they help us in identifying problems and troubleshooting ventilation.
