Wow! That hotel/university is beautiful. That architecture is quite elegant. I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't seen The Sandlot. 587 feet? I wonder if that is accurate. I know that Micky Mantle's 600 foot home run was recently debunked. It seems like so many important aspects of history are being rewritten everyday. Hopefully, Babe Ruth's personal best will not be forgotten. Joey Meyer is credited with the longest verifiable home run, at 582 feet. Thinner air may be responsible for his feat, as he hit the ball in the Mile High Stadium (1987) in Denver, CO. I remember hearing that the stadium is home to three out of the top five longest field goals in the NFL as well. Beautiful campus, and great video!
I saw that mantels homerun got debunked at USC So I was safe to say that it could possibly be the longest also saw that Meyer’s was 582. This led me to think that it could possibly be the longest ever, If recorded accurately. If the MLB and the baseball almanac would get on board.. it still just very cool that he has such a far homer. Even a 500 footer is amazingThank you buddy glad you enjoyed this when I had a good time taking a walk through the campus
Cool video Jay, several friends of mine graduated from UT, I miss baseball right now, hope they figure it out soon. Take care my friend and thanks for all of your cool videos.
Never had any idea of the baseball history in Tampa. I also share the same feelings for Roberto, I met his son and was given a tribute baseball. Thank you
Roberto Clemente is not only my favorite baseball player he is my hero. He was so great at everything. I’ve played basketball against his grandson one time
Very interesting video! A lot of baseball history!! I’m from Pittsburgh so I also like Roberto Clemente, he was my uncles hero!! Thanks so much for the video!
👍🏻 cool, architecture. That moorish revival. You aren’t kidding when you said” if these walls can talk”. That goes back to the Spanish- American war. Thanks for sharing!
Great video Jay! Wow.. 587 foot homer? Woo-hoo!! That's gotta be half way to the moon! I grew up about an hour away from Yankee Stadium in NY and I been to the old stadium as well as the new one but I prefer the ambience of the old one better. There was a real mystique to that place that just isn't quite the same in the new one yet I like old school stuff and I remember the first time I walked into that place and saw the field where all those great players actually played ball. Got chill bumps! I guess you can tell i'm a Yankees fan ha ha! And I will surely be going to some of the Spring Training games next year in Tampa. Thanks for posting!
That’s awesome man I’ve seen the new stadium I didn’t get a chance to see the old one. I regret not visiting the Bronx sooner. Lots of Babe Ruth and Yankee history in Tampa Bay. I hope to share some more of it someday. Thanks for watching buddy glad you enjoyed it. Take care and stay safe
@@TampaJay Yeah the new stadium is bigger and a lot more spacious especially in the concession areas which is good. And the great hall is really cool with all the big pictures of Yankee greats hanging up all over the place. But the old stadium was really the shrine of all shrines as ball parks go. I can't believe they tore it down completely and that really bugged me because if there was ever a real life "Field Of Dreams" that had to be it. So much baseball history went down there and It was such a huge part of Americana that you just can't replace stuff like that. It was a real museum of baseball and you could almost feel the ghosts floating around in there when you walked through the dark and cramped hallways underneath the place. I hope they never tear Fenway or Wrigley down like that... ugggh!
I'm a fan of Babe Ruth! One of the greatest baseball players of all time! Plus I'm a Yankees fan and he did play for them thanks to the Red Sox trade. LOL Very cool that Jackie Robinson played there also.
The candy bar company "claimed" that the Baby Ruth candy bar was named after Grover Cleveland's daughter Ruth Cleveland, but that was just to get out of paying Babe Ruth for his name. Ruth Cleveland had died over 17 years before the candy bar was renamed.
You can never have too many Spartans. That's pretty cool. Who knew Babe Ruth's longest home run wss in Florida? Well, obviously somebody did because there are plaques, but you know what I mean. I didn't know they had been playing spring training games in Florida that long.
Tampa Jay heading to Clearwater Beach Monday from Pittsburgh. Where can I find local minor baseball merchandise at and local sports merchandise while i am there?
Many consider Josh Gibson the greatest power hitter in baseball history. Fans that saw Babe Ruth and Gibson play, dubbed the Babe the white Josh Gibson.
Play ball
Thanks for this awesome content!

😷😷 6:40 for your meme ...babe batted left handed
The only thing I can do left handed is shoot a basketball
Amazing how much baseball history is in Tampa. Also...a lot of MAFIA history in Tampa as well. Might make for a good series.
Yes lots of it. The story of Charlie Wall coming on the much ahead eventually

I always wondered if there was strong winds blowing the same way the ball went.
I've got to try one of those chocolates now 😁
They are delicious I hope you get to try one soon. Let me know if you like it
Sounds like Interview with a Vampire❗(Baby Ruth)
I like that movie
Awesome vlog !! Be sure to have mask on and hand sanitizer though Florida is going into second wave
Oh no I'm sorry 😳😳
Paul gerczak hit a 695 ft bomb back in the summer of 1987
Babe's longest homer was hit at Sing Sing prison!

He was a great ball player. Also in the Baseball Hall Of Fame
Where do you work? You should go to elvis"s house in clearwater.
have you been to tampa bay yankees field in tampa where they have minor league baseball?
Adam Wagner yes Steinbrenner Field. Love that ball park
@@TampaJay yeah been to that park and the one in clearwater for the clearwater threshers.
Very cool video TJ. How about doing a run on all of the old time ice cream places or hot dog places in the area. I there are a bunch...just thought
Bespos that would be fun! Bo’s would be at the top of the list
