I was looking at getting the sport version of this lens because I love being out in the rain, it's a fair bit more expensive though and heavier too....I think you've just saved my wallet and my back :) Now to find a pair of those leggings.... Thank you!
@@YNWAintheFOAR the sports version weighs a ton and I've heard for not much gain although there will be some. For me the sports wasn't practical to hand hold or carry whilst out walking. I carry a day sack for my water proofs, hats, gloves etc. Also I cut part of a leg of some old water proof trousers to fit snuggly over the lens and camera in emergency.
Another tip for you is dual back button AF. You can set the "AF-ON" and the "*"buttons for different AF modes by setting them in the custom menu and hit the info button while still having the button selected and selecting the AF mode that you want for the button selected. It is awesome!
hello Jason. great video! I was following along ok until 4:17 - got the star enabled- but how did you get to the screen to set shutter 1/2ooo etc. ? I can't find it

Scroll across to the camera icon with 2 arrows on, then press INFO button to set detail 5.top right scroll wheel turn on the shutter speed text until there is an orange box around the text usually one right turn and press the SET button. Turn the DIAL around the SET button to the desired speed. 6 click SET for OK So now when you in Shutter speed mode and use this back button itll use these settings
Greetings Jason! Excellent and most useful video. I just upgraded from the 7D to the 7D Mark 2 and ordered a used copy of the Sigma 150 -600 lens. So your information will be very helpful about both. Do you always need to use the docking station or is it only necessary when the images aren't sharp enough? God Bless!
Just one thing..(and you may have covered this in one of your other videos) I’ve got the same set up.. Canon 7Dii and the sigma lens.. what tripod and monopod do you recommend for this kit?
@@timohare4431 hi Tim . My little travel tripod I bought as a generic cheap one for 25 pounds and my big tripod is a Manfrotto 290 dual which handles this set up well and is a good alrounder. Google specs on it. I'm ok at carrying it about albeit quite big.
@@JasonEdwardsPhotography thanks for replying, I appreciate it. It seems, however, I cannot change any settings when I am onto the icon. I cannot click on it and go into another menu (like: clicking on 'set'). Is that what I am supposed to do? Thanks in advance.

@@Jerry23555 I couldnt afford either of them either. There are financial options available and even second hand stores. Also if you cant afford the camera , the lens would be pretty useless. A lot of folk either pay using finance or save for this passion. If you really want to get into it, study photography and save for the required gear. Ive spent years getting my gear together and i replace it for better options as i go. Sorry i dont give my lens away freely.

I have this set. One for birds on a stick single point focus and the other as a small group and with 2000th sec shutter.
@@JasonEdwardsPhotography Before I got the camera. I was told by a reviewer that this wasn't possible on it. I guess we showed him... LOL!!!
