Brings me to tears when I see the RNLI doing what they do 🇬🇧
Who would think that as an island nation we must ask these brave men & women to risk their own lives for free !
I think from what I’ve read they prefer it to be a charity because government involvement would ruin it, and I would have to agree with them!
the common purpose pc Nazis ARE trying to ruin the RNLI @@simonrobins7168
That's very true....the RNLI is there to assist sailors in trouble and save lives at sea....there are no costs involved to those we help or fish out of the drink....so any body can call for help and know it's on it's way.. WITHOUT having to worry about the cost.....we do it because we would like to think if any of us were stuck out there and needed help....somebody would do the same for us.
Imo I can see why people do it: you get training, really cool toys, teamwork and a chance to make a direct and significant difference to others.
royal national lifeguard institution in the uk. volunteer charity. extraordinary people.
Theo S yes some of it goes overseas but only to fund programs designed to prevent drownings I.e teaching kids to swim and teaching boat owners/operators how to pilot their boats properly and how to keep and get their boats out of trouble
Additionally they do operate six strategically placed international flood rescue team trained, equipped and ready to respond around the globe at short notice
bloody hell......This can bring a tear to the eye of a 42 year old bloke. My son is also 12. These people who do this type of work are the real hero's in my book! Thank God for them!
@GowerWaterSports Thanks for your lovely comments! Just to reassure you, as a charity entirely separate from Government, our service is not affected by the cuts being proposed. We continue to rely on the generosity of our supporters and the general public in order to maintain our vital lifesaving work. So please tell all your friends!
Unbelievable made me emotional to watch this. Got a son of a similar age. Amazing work!
He must have incredible eyesight to make that call from so far away. Top marks.
Practice makes perfect for our crews - lots of hard training hours go into executing each rescue
He was probably caught in a rip tide. Luckily those fantastic people where able to save him, the rnli do a brilliant job and should be celebrated more in the media.
No I found out he was in an inflatable boat and a strong gust of wind blew him away from shore, his father apparently tried to catch him but couldn't cause he was blown away too quickly.
Klara and Madison Love girls tell him thank you so much for his heroism and serving people who are in trouble on the water
Great job guys. 100% respect.
Just incredible. Support the RNLI!
I used to support the RNLI financially until it sacked a crew for a making a harmless joke!
From America and I’ve just discovered these videos and love them in fact you would never see this on the beaches all we maybe have are guys with a jet ski possibly and a little floating board for lifeguards on beaches
Thank god for the RNLI Brighton Lifeboat rescue team..That was a fast rescue on that boy .Can't imagine how the parents were feeling on the shore.Things happen so fast at sea so glad it turned out great. Those men were so fast .
The RNLI are absolute heroes 😊
Unbelievable spot by the 4th man! Legend.
brave work, everyone should try to support the RNLI financially, they're totally dependent on donations from us and they're always risking their lives to help us so let's give them something back so if you ever need them they can be there for you and your family
RNLI is the best! Greetings from Canada!
Lovely to see the member going above and behind by putting their arm round boy to reassure him
INFO on this: The boy, Michael Lally from the Wirral, was on holiday in Porthcawl with his family when he was swept out from Trecco Bay as an offshore wind blew his dinghy out to sea. His step father tried in vain to swim to his rescue but the dinghy was being blown too fast for him to catch. Fortunately the incident was watched by other people on the beach who quickly dialled 999. Swansea Coastguard paged Porthcawl RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew for an immediate launch. The Wales Air Ambulance was also diverted to attend the incident together with land based paramedics and Porthcawl Coastguard Unit.
Thanks Cosmo. That's a brave stepdad, a fortunate kid and a boat full of genuine heroes.
love how they gave the kid one of their helmets ! haha
Well done from a us coast guard veteran
You lad are badass as they say in America... Lol been watching many videos. Wonderful work you all do! ✌💗😊❣
great job, greatings from a norwegian red cross lifeguard
Hope this boys parents shout each of these volunteers a nice meal at the end of this rescue.
12 thumbs down?
What kind of world are we living in?
The volunteer 'lads and lasses' of the RNLI. Proper superheroes.
Outstanding work, nothing but praise for these wonderful volunteers 👌👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️
absolute legends. I bet they don't have to pay for a drink in the pub... I fucking hope not x
Brilliant quick rescue of a very scared young boy. BUT what I would really like to know is what that boy, now a 20 year old man thinks abut it. And thinking about it if it had not been for these guys he may not have seen 20 years old. Guess I will never know. Thanks RNLI
Just fantastic people ! Great skill and expertise
Nice video glad they got to him. That lifeboat has one powerful engine.
Hi Clifford, our Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboats are fitted with two Yamaha 4-stroke engines, each generating 115hp. These propel the boat to its top speed of 35 knots, making it one of the fastest in our fleet.
Why anyone would thumb down RNLI videos is beyond me. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Great job lads
Probably because of the poor audio quality. I just turned down the volume and enjoyed the visuals, but some people are too picky.
Even with the best videos, someone will always have a nitpick, or a peeve about something, I wouldn't worry about it
What does training, equipment, preparation, and courage look like? May we present Exhibit A?
He’ll be about 22/23 now and could be watching this! 🤔👍
Amazing. Great work RNLI crew.
They sure are 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Outstanding work guys with thanks from all the security at trecco bay
you lot are precious in saving people
Awesome job 👏🏻
You'd be so worried to what you were going to find!
Well done. If I was that boys dad I'd be scarred for life.
What if you guys weren't there?
What would we do without you?
It doesn't bear thinking about!
Thank you we all appreciate you
Bloody heroes,!!!
Smart work. Surprised the skipper went forward at the beginning. Couldn't understand what was going on there. Great to see such skill and teamwork.
mark carey "Surprised the skipper went forward at the beginning."
He didn't. See: www.buyrite-tyres.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Teignmouth-inshore-lifeboat-credit-RNLI-Nigel-Millard-e1428425004981.jpg
The middle console is where the navigators/communicators sit. The helm is the farthest-forward console, and that crewman never left his position. (Watch again as they are preparing to haul the boy aboard, and you can see him rapidly turning the wheel to maneuver in.)
I am astonished with their bravery so i give most of my change to rnli charitys
Great work from the Coxswain on this shout.
Angels of the sea
God bless you all
Wow wow wow wow ,,,bravo
Yep LEGENDS ALL !!! 👏👌🙌
real heros
awesome lads, dont forget to clip the seat down next time .
Impressive stamina of the boy and slick rescue. The music's a bit much though.
@isbrealiomdonie Thanks for your lovely comment!
fantastic job
Great job lads.
So close to shore. But caught in a current that possible ‘ripped’ the lad away from shore shows how easy it is to be swept out to sea.
Such admiration for these superb men and ladies who put there lives at risk in the hope that a life is saved. 👍
i love you guys
Sea angels ❤️
I love this clip
Real Heroes
Those Inboards or outboards sound like beasts.
Good job mates👍

Crikey! How is he still alive?! He must be a damn good Swimmer! And more interestingly how in the name of God did the Crew manage to see him in the water?!
Very professional
nice work
Well done.
good job
awesome god bless
Bravo!
the rnli should be paid for the amazing work they do
Some of them are. They're mostly volunteers, but there are also professional support personnel and two full-time manned stations.
The whole point of the Institution is to save lives at sea.....that means we need to be completely independant of any government aud of any sort....so when a 'shout' comes in...its down tools and go....no cutbacks....no form filling....nobody to say it's too bad weather to risk.......were away.....somebody needs help....I'm one of those who are extremely proud to work for the Institution and have no with to be paid for it......if we were paid it wouldnt be what we know as the RNLI
Well done
looks like they have helo's at 0:47 !! :D
noice audio
good job btw
WOOOOOOO
One lucky lucky lad..
LES ANGES DE LA PLANÈTE
Gods!!
And suddenly hè has 4 daddies
These guys don’t fuck around...
Just in time
If that was me i would also ask to try his helmet on lol
That boy is now 24
i want to be a volunteer
You forgot his buddy Wilson!
Well done to the RNLI. Why do parents still let their children use these dinghys?
now that is boat control.
Why on earth are the RNLI not paid for from government coffers? I think the crews should be well paid for what they do, afterall they risk their lives every time they do out to a rescue.
No Government interference needed thank you very much!! They'd fill it
with "managers" set "targets" close unprofitable stations and eventually
sell the remaining ones off to the yanks in exactly the same way as
they have done the search and rescue helicopter services.
130June " I think the crews should be well paid for what they do..."
Some of them are; the full-timers.
I think if HMG ran it many of us would wrap in or be unemployed due to cuts and boats getting sold off due to not meeting targets .....as things are....RNLI has no connection to HMG....yes we work with them...but I'm glad to say NEVER for them......we do it because someone needs us.....not because someone has paid us to do it......my time is NOT à government commodity to sell to highest bidder.......I give it freely...to help someone
Cannot understand how a lonely boy was swept out to sea and there was not a single soul on the land. The person or persons , who phoned the rescue team should have followed him on the land and I am sure other people would have been present. Then perhaps someone had a pair of good binoculars and saw the boy in distress from a long distance from which the boat was launched, but I do doubt it. I must admit I do not fully understand !
Carmel Pule' so it’s apparent you have not read any comments in case of information. Well do so then give yourself a slap up the face for being so daft
Who dislikes these videos?
3.12 That RNLI guy just throw a plastic bag or some waste into the water. Pretty sure that's not right..
why isnt the RNLI government funded?
Because they would completely distroy the charity, underfund it and close half of the lifeboat stations down that's why it's so professional with the very latest equipment because the public control the funds
No Government interference needed thank you very much!! They'd fill it with "managers" set "targets" close unprofitable stations and eventually sell the remaining ones off to the yanks in exactly the same way as they have done the search and rescue helicopter services.
time. lol
the rnli lifeboat crew are complete legends!
BT Dub absolutely the finest people on the planet 😀🌈🇬🇧
Dont know about 'legends', dont think it's been around long enough to qualify for that......I've never met a legend ....to my knowledge......we just have a job to do and we do it.....I'd like to think if I couldnt do it......someone else would.....just so happens I can swim......so I'll help someone who cant....RNLI are there to supply the boats and hardware.....they got quite good at it too.....
