I mean... Can't any band can do that? Putting that these are boomwhackers and not band instruments aside, time is an essential part of an ensemble and it's not something I would EXPECT college level musicians to get wrong.

Reasons why this video is so great:
1. The fact it's not just a bunch of echo-y jumbled noise.
2. The time and effort everyone in the video made just for this and it sounds amazing.
3. Captions always and only say "*boomwhacker noises*", save for the end when it says "bye bye".
3. The NPC looking guy in the direct center of the half circle just absolutely nailing every beat spot on then waiting for it to start up again like a character in Runescape waiting to give you a quest.
4. The little dances the base and soprano do to stay on beat after mid-chorus ends. 1:58
5. WHEN THEY ALL JUST RAISE THEIR BOOMWHACKERS IN THE AIR FOR DRAMATIC PAUSE. 2:29

This seems easy, but think of all the prep work that goes into this. Planning the song, the setup, who uses what. Syncing up the notes. Making sure everyone is in time. Practicing over and over until it flows right. People might think this is a dumb thing for Harvard students to do, but if anything it's just as involved as marching band. Always impressed by your videos!
Opinion: This looks hard as fuck ahhahahahahhaha I don't think I've heard a single person say this seems easy
@@courtneylewis2415 I do agree with you, people saying this seems easy most likely are those who have never played and instrument nor read a score. That doesn't seem to be, IT IS difficult AF. This guys are amazing! The fact they misspitched some notes or some of them where out of tempo just says how difficult it is.
Also by memory. No score to refer to.
Sure it's difficult but nothing compared to marching band lmao. Marching bad is all of this but playing an instrument with a 12 minute show needing to be memorized while marching and focusing on visual choreography aswell as marching technique. This MAYBE would take some marching band kids an hour or 2 of practice.

i remember the ye old days of using it in 3rd grade band
When I was in 5th grade, my school’s (surprisingly large) music theater club did a whole mini musical that was a parody of the King Arthur. And it revolved around boomwhackers. Like, instead of the sword in the stone, it was a boomwhacker in a stone.
TL;DR: Elementary schools are weirdly obsessed with these glorious colored tubes.

I think one amazing Thing you don’t normally get with music is the ability to SEE a call and response. You can literally see the back and forth from the “bass line” on the right and left sides it’s so cool
