Please more episodes on haunted castles, this was wonderful!
Yes I would love to hear more ghost stories too 👻😍.
Yes definitely!
There's awesome actually english\Scottish/Irish and Welsh channels that are way way better than this.....how could you not know this?!?
I visited Sudeley Castle this summer and let me tell you, the atmosphere there is THICK. My entire visit, especially in the gardens, I kept turning around because it felt like someone was watching me. I couldn't shake it.
That gave me chills
I need to plan a visit
I really love the ghost stories connected to these houses. I've often thought the British Royal Family must have lots of ghost stories having grown up in those old houses and palaces, especially with all the drama that went with being royalty. That's the book Harry should have written, he could have interviewed his family and the staff and it would have been so much more interesting and would have burned less bridges in the process! 🤣 Thank you for doing this video, it was so interesting and fun!
That would have been interesting if Harry had done that instead. But what's done is done.
Love this! I love ghost stories, because they preserve the "small" stories that normally get lost in history. Like the lady and her pet ape - that story probably would've been lost if there weren't a ghost story!
I could happily spend the rest of my life searching every nook amd cranny of these homes just to find connections with those who walked in the same space just at a different time ❤
I could listen to these ghost stories for hours and hours! What a lovely creepy episode. I hope you can do this again 👻
Should be a Halloween tradition 🎃
Dude 😂
There's some awesome channels with actual English accents that do MUCH MUCH better job of telling ghost stories.
The Cotswold explorer is one. Trust you don't need some over preening "yes for the 20time in 20mins I'll say how I'm a viscountess. 🙄🤡🤪🫨
Loved it! My house is well over 100 years old and there are ghosts. But, living in Mississippi in the Deep South, as long as they’re nice? We’re okay with them. 😊
I live in Mississippi also. I am near Tupelo
We live in Toronto where there are tons of ghosts. I think that most old buildings are haunted and I feel the same way about them as you do.I used to live in a 1939 building downtown and one night when much Music was playing a tribute concert for a recently deceased rock star, the cord on the phone across the room was swinging in time to the beat. I thought...that's cool
@@ItsNatalieDLots of haunts there 👻
I would NEVER stay in a huge home like that alone at night! And could you imagine going around constantly to make sure the numerous doors are locked?!
It wouldn’t matter if the doors were locked because the ghosts would float through them 😂
and that the lights were turned off
Would sleep with all the lights on 👻
And the windows locked and shut! It just goes on and on. Ghosts are bad enough, but the living scare the heck out of me. 😂
Relax and have a Scotch, Caryl.
This is 100% my favorite video you’ve ever done. If you start a channel on historic home hauntings, you will be my Queen. Happy Halloween to you and your family Julie!
My flat's haunted. Ive only seen him 3 times, but hear him a lot and things go missing and reappear months or even years later. Odd things like a powder compact, extension leads,a set of pyjamas, fountain pen, rolling pin. The pen vanished when I was 4 metres away and reappeared months later in a pot of makeup brushes.
Julie should write a compilation of all these stories and call it Oh My Goodness! A book of Britain's Haunted Manors and Castles.
Your ghost is funny. Pahama's? Really? Ohhh and the pen, yes ghosts like pens, I can testify to that. And shiny things. That must have been quite frustrating about the pen!
I lived in a house that was built in the 1940's in America. I volunteered at a Living History Museum that was built in the early 1800's. (Old, for America). I swear those ghosts followed me home. One year I had spent quite a bit of money and bought a whole sheet of Christmas stamps, and tucked them away in the drawer where I always keep stamps. Well, when I went to get them because I was going to be writing out the Christmas cards, they were gone! Naturally, I searched high and low for them even accused my husband of taking them, but, they were nowhere to be found. TWO years later, they reappeared in the Same drawer where I had put them originally, and in the same spot, the same drawer that I used ALL. The. Time! (grumble, grumble grumble).
They also had a thing for my hairbrush. LOL I wound up having to buy a couple of hairbrushes Just so I would have one!!!! Oh, and jewelry? Forget it. They looooove shiny things! --They would reappear in the weirdest of places! Hahahaha I finally learned from the gal who operated the Manor House, how to deal with the ghosts and their swiping things. Just tell them sternly to GIVE it BACK! Or I'll throw you Out! They have to obey us. They do, because we have ways of tossing them Out, and they don't want to lose their home.
Oh my goodness, No, No, No, even when items (like odd shoes) are in front of her? Very odd expressions indeed!
Oh my goodness, but this ranks as my favorite video in your collection. Like so many, I'd love for you to do a whole 'Haunted' series from these grand, ancient castles, manors and stately homes. I love that you had the owners/witnesses tell their home's ghost stories. Simply brilliant. Many thanks for this wonderful, spooky episode Julie!
Julia, you also need to write a book. I'm sure there are many stories in Mapperton + add mystery + a pinch of intrigue = bestseller. I would read😉
Perfect 👻🎃
Oh, Julie, I have enjoyed this episode so much!
Thank you for giving us such a special Halloween treat.😊
This was wonderful!! I think that you have many more stories like these to do on an annual Halloween Special!!😊♥️Patty🎃
This was so fun, and adds an extra dimension to the stories of the homes.
well i certainly enjoyed this video i live in sacramento and i clean victorian homes and there are many ghosts i have encountered its far more scary than fun espectially when i am cleaning and all alone in 3 or 4 storied houses great video please make more
I hope this video shows the ghosts at Athelhampton 🎉!!!!! There are 4 of them! One is our Martin family ape! Poor thing!!!! Hugs Julie and to our AV family! I will miss talking with all of you on Live Chat!!! ❤🎉Thank you to the staff and everyone who works on these incredible videos weekly! You're all in my heart!
Did you see those candles blinking on the left when he started telling the ghost story? 👻
There was movement in almost every frame, and not only one at a time, either. Yes, very busy. We had a priest hole behind a bookcase, when I lived at Hever Rectory..but the ghosts there were quite otherwise, some were protective, others, completely hidden unless they didn't like someone!
I don't believe in ghosts but I do enjoy hearing the stories, they're often such an intimate glimpse into a snippet of time in a real person's life we probably wouldn't have heard otherwise, like the story of the woman shouting at the men through the window. The story gets preserved and passed down. My father died in my childhood home, he was an amazing and caring man, I'd be so heartbroken if someone else got scared simply by the fact that he died there, he would've welcomed them to the house and tried to feed them, it's just how he was.
I have been dying for this topic to be covered by you. It was fascinating. I could never walk by myself through the hallways. I would be running 😂. Thanks for such a fun video.
Hi Julie, what a great episode, as an American you know how the adults love Halloween, so this was perfect. I can only imagine what lurks in the halls and tunnels of these old homes. As I child my favorite animal was a monkey, so I am going to look into Giles's book. Thanks again for sharing. Happy Halloween. Love from N.Y.
More more more of these, PLEASE! ❤
What was the light that went in front of the camera around 15 to 22 minutes into the video? If you rewatch it, you’ll see it. 😮
I live in Charleston Sc and this is one of the most haunted placs in the states.I love your car. and the color is so nice.
Unless the person requested it, no one would ever be buried under the floorboards - unless you are living in a stone house in prehistoric Britain where they kept their ancestors close. I'd say it was a person who was murdered and the Master of the house buried him there. It might have been a servant who they believed was disrespectful or, much like they'd throw people into an oubliette. I'd say it would be an interesting show to find out the history of the house. Possibly someone went missing? I think that would be an excellent story that would bring much attention to your viewers. Wonderful show! Thank & Bless you!
Oubliettes are quite rare really, only in quite large places. Its fascinating the events and secrets that slowly reveal themselves in these old buildings. People were sacrificed in the foundations of ancient buildings, also cats and dogs,to keep evil spirits away.
Or could it be.......... MURDER
You appear to be of the Astrological Sign of Cancer. Sweet, dreamy, romantic look... so cute. Did I get it right? 🌟😺😁🐶🦉🌹♥️🌞🌛🙋🌟
No
@@gmangmail1511 It could be the ascendant. Cancer is a conservative sign, focused on family... the past...
Great video. I love the castles with the wood paneling and Tudor windows. 😀🎃
Love your program.
In Queen Margaret's room when you all walked over to the mirror and turned to look towards the door in which you came in, I saw an orb fly from the upper corner of canopy, from right to left moving towards the fireplace.
That's a ghost
👻👻👻Oh nooooooo! 😮😮 These homes are so huge and have so many rooms and secret places that a stranger could probably take up residence and no one would ever know it. (Don't look behind you!) 🤣
I feel like I was born in the wrong country in the wrong era.
I have always like England.....always felt a connection to it.
The castles....ugh....so beautiful and mysterious.
To be the Lady of the House in the 1800's and wear such pretty gowns and dresses.
Riding in a horse-drawn Carriage.
Having big extravagant dinners in The Great Hall.
I loved this video and hearing the history of some of these Castles.
I started watching this in the dark but had to turn a light on pretty quickly.
Here's some short stories:
My daughter saw my Mother almost a year after she died.
My Mother heard her Father's voice calling to her after he had been burried just days before.
My sister had experienced ghostly phenomena at a college that she attended.
My Mother used to be a Secretary and she said she heard voices from another room, but she was the only one in the building.
Pretty Scary Stuff.
I have yet to see a ghost....but I have felt things that cannot be explained.
Happy Haunting Everyone!!
👻👻👻👻👻👻
Dear Julie, I lived in a home In Massachusetts that was merely 30 years old. One summer, we had a ghostly visitor that was… a real nuisance! I can’t imagine living in an ancient home. The possibilities are unfortunately endless!
I just love those homes. Secret passages, ghosts. Love it all. The homes were beautiful.
Great video would love to see more of these haunted places ❤️
As as avid ghost show watcher, I loved this sooooooo much! Now one of my faves. I get tired of the same ole ghost shows that camp out waiting for ghosts, and jump when they hear nothing. It's nice to sit back, relax, and hear historical stories about ghosts. So well done. I loved it! Thank you for this episode. Also, I loved your real reaction to all that you heard. Adorable lol. I was gasping right there with you 😆. Please do more like this!! I just found you and you definitely earned a subscriber. Well done!
Enjoyed this episode, Julie! Very well done!

Happy Halloween, Julie! This is perfect. Ghost stories from British history.
Love this episode! 😊
Enjoyed this episode so very much, but I love old houses and if there is a spirit in them, that much better!!
FABULOUS Video. WOW!!!! MORE MORE MORE. Thank you.
Please do more like this!
I lived in a 80 years old house in Orán, Salta, Argentina and there was a huge room divided in two by a huge wardrobe. When you were going from one part to the other near that piece of forniture you would feel somebody by your side and many times you would even see him/her with the corner of the eye on the opposite side, by the wall. We didn´t know if that was a man or a woman but there it was. My sisters were terrified and never wanted to get into so I made it my bedroom and no one would go to disturb me. It was not once in a while but almost an everyday event and even more than once a day. However, I didn´t feel afraid.
18:34 I absolutely love that table in front of you
22:00 I guess you should stay to sleep in that Marriage chamber a week to tell us.
33:12 Yes. King´s men probably took the bell and all metal work to melt it or to sell it and get some revenues for the crown. Beautiful tower and arches, by the way
Such a great idea for a Halloween show.
MY FAVORITE EPISODE!!! Hope you do more on this topic!
I just love love this episode. Historic houses are ghost stories are so fascinating 👻😍.Thank you Julie ❤.
Hiya, Thankyou for sharing truly enjoyed. Blessings Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
Julie this is a subject I love!
Absolutely loved this Julie 👏👏my favorite by far & l like all of them. Please do more,it’s fascinating! ♥️
l have seen my passed sister at the end of my bed in the early hours, she looked beautiful, sadly we lost her under tragic circumstances.
My husbands elderly Aunt came to visit the night of her funeral, our cat hissed at the chair she always sat on.Then at 2 am on my way to the bathroom a door opened wide by itself,l said hello Auntie Rube, must admit l didn’t need to use the loo & l didn’t feel the carpet under foot on the way back to bed.No one has to believe me but l know what l saw.
Ps Our home is lovely & peaceful.🙏
i loved this episode!! I hope it becomes a yearly "event"...
I’m very surprised you’ve not featured the Ghosts of Hinchingbrooke House, especially as the Earls of Sandwich lived there for the best part of 350 years!
Yes, exactly! At Hinchingbrooke, with Julie, the Earl and his sister, said they used to play in this small space, where two adult skeletons laid, below, under glass, I presume. The smell of death, yuck! Anyway, Julie asked who they were, and they denied knowing. Amazing that these skeletons remained even after sale of the house and which is now a school. Maybe they do not haunt and is reason they are not included in this video about ghosts. Very interesting Julie has not researched These people. Or maybe, she has and I have missed it?
Hi Julie, your cameraman caught the ghost in the filming a white globe came out from the top of the bed and left the bedroom as you remained talking.
This was so fascinating to watch! Brilliant in every way! ❤
You did a wonderful job. I enjoyed the stories.
Fascinating!! Thanks for this video 😊
I love this video! This is so fabulous!!
So interesting Julie.
Very compelling stories and the production value of your channel has increased a thousandfold since its start. More like this!
Scrolling through UA-cam I came across your channel. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but near the end at 28:21, there is a moving shadow at the bottom of the stairs in the hallway, on the left side, followed by a white orb. I backed the video up many times just to make sure if I was seeing things or not, and,....well,.....go look for yourself. It's there clear as day. Of course I don't know if there was anyone else in the mansion or not, but the shadow and orb is there nonetheless.
I Really enjoyed this video! If you're brave enough to do any more on this topic, then may I suggest visiting Glamis in Scotland? I was there ages ago, and a friend and I got separated from our group, and got lost. We climbed a winding stairwell, and went into a room that was closed off to the public. When we entered the room, it was quite warm in there, but the further into the room we ventured, the temperature changed quite suddenly to beyond a chill. It was downright cold, and we could see our breath. Mind you, this was in the heat of summer when this happened. Then I heard someone whisper my name. At first I thought my friend was playing games, except my friend is male and the voice was female. That was rather unnerving, but to top things off, when we walked into the adjoining room, there was a child's rocking chair that was rocking all by itself! (I'm getting goosebumps as I type this). If you guessed we fled from there like a bat outta hell, you would be correct! --Soooo if you're up to visiting a real haunted castle, (it has other ghost stories as well), then go and visit Glamis. Make sure you go up into the nursery off the tower!
I’m mesmerised by these breathtaking properties and surroundings grounds
amazing episode thanks for this
Great episode! Probably my favourite I've watched so far. Would love to hear more of these stories in these places. Love the spookiness! Please consider making a series of them!
I stayed in Appleby Castle last year and I was the only guest and it is very atmospheric and you do get the sense that maybe there’s something else in the room with you when you’re by yourself
Thank you for this video it is truly fascinating that history is my favorite. The ghost stories are great as well.
Thanks So Much For This Great Video From Blue
This was lots of fun. 💯 ❤️🐿️
I so enjoy a good ghost story and thoroughly enjoyed this video visit of these historical homes.
Very well done. Thank you.
THAT was fascinating!😮👻💀
I’d stay in that room with the ghost babies ❤
Do you realize that ghosts are actually demons!!!
Wonderfully done! Thank you for producing and presenting this, it's quite interesting!
Loved the showcase of haunted homes.
Traditionally, the medium would open up a portal (door) to the spirit world so they can transition.
Awesome watch new subscribers here from Cornwall.
I'm descended from the Berkeleys through the American descendents of William Cecil, 1st Baron Burghley. Wonderful episode. Thank you.
That was a great vid!! more of these please :)
All of this is delightful. But the most shocking thing I heard was at 2:55 when Mrs. Berkeley said she was making the beds for the musicians who were staying the night to play at her ball. RESPECT
I loved this one! Thank you for sharing these castle ghosts with us.
I thoroughly enjoyed this!! Who really knows but a good ghost story is something we all like isn’t it?
Love this episode! It is great to hear stories from various places and people and it does make you wonder if there is more to life after death! Thanks for sharing ❤😊
Great episode and just in time for Halloween 🎃 Spooky 👻
Julie...this was great. I even had my 15 year old watch it and she thought it was good also. Great SPOOKY video.
Ok this has been my favorite episode. How fun this was. ❤
Julie, I love both your's and Luke's channels. You both are awesome, educational, and very comical. 😂
Such a fun episode! Reminds me of The Ghosts of Motley Hall. Such a fun series I enjoyed very much as a child. Good old Sir George Uproar…what a scream!
Great episode!!! You have to do a part 2
This is so cool Julie, u cover it all, even the stuff no one likes to talk or believe in, i definately believe, crazy but lovit 😱
Thx for historic hauntings. Please do more.
Happy Halloween Weekend
There's a house in San Diego CA that's haunted so when I toured it I got the feeling that those who are haunting would prefer to be left alone. Awesome Castle to explore
Awesome program, I grew up in a 22 room farm house that was build ithe late 1600 . It was in vermont usa, I experienced many ghosts growing up.
