Wow! of all the engage talks I have watched this has really connected with my life story. I faced rejection from my father at an early age. It grew up a bitter child and never really had any conversations with my father. I even wrote an angry poem about him for years but I only able to finish it when I learnt to forgive. It really affected how I related to people in my life. So I got into drinking. I was only able to forgive him and others when I found God in 2009. I gave my life to Christ. It took time before we could reconcile fully because of the deep cuts between us. It has been a few years now, I am glad we can sit down and have a conversation with my Father and refer to him as one. It has been a long journey but finding acceptance from a father as a man really means a lot. I pray that when I get married and have kids, I will love their mother and give them the best of a fathers love as I can. Because I have learnt that is the best gift you can give a child!
@@lillielillow6586 Wow! Interesting. That's nice its always lovely to share with other believers...I mean I'd love to hear how the journey has been for you...
The one time that he needed love and understanding...he received rejection.. I hope he has forgiven... It's always good to recognize that one moment when our children need us most..need love most!! They always carry it with them...
Very brave of Tendai to share his story and struggles. And newfound place of peace. This is not to say that we should always disconnect with family members who have hurt us or failed to protect us. There are numerous examples where God called people away from their homeland and families. Abraham. Even the disciples were called away from their families and livelihoods by Jesus. But, it was for the purpose of God, not in the spirit of hurt, betrayal. Pain is very real, and dominating. But, brethren please be very clear that when God calls you to disconnect from family or home, it is for a known God purpose. Whose fruit must be clear. So if any family member hurts you deeply, don't be quick to "replace" them with another and say that is God. Be clear the Voice and Purpose of a Godly separation. And honour your mother and father so it will go well with you. Blessings to all.
Sometimes it is so hard for teens who have traumatic experiences to open up to our parents because we don't know how they will react...I hope for as many children we see on the streets, as many have found refuge they so need💔
It has taken so many months to watch this UA-cam kept recommending but I took my time. I am glad that I have Tendai Mtana may God lead you to nations.. You have spoken to my dear heart.... You are influential God bless you
Well up Tendai for speaking up /about Bullying . Sadly, ofetimes, the victim gets blamed/ shamed ( worse so if boys) for being weak. Hence, the conspiracy of silence .Not much has changed since your time, as the habit has almost been normalized....and we are talking 2024. Safety in Schools ( SiS), an initiative of Promoting mental wellness in communities in Kenya (PMWC-Ke) is trying to change the narrative, We continously reach out to willing learning institutions to collaborate (specifically , share on Bullying and other mental health topics) in a bid to create safe learning spaces and encourage a culture of learners being Upstanders and #saynotobullying
Tendai Mtana Its been amazing to walk down the journey of purpose with you on this platform.Thank you for being bold and articulate in regard to your reign, soldier on.
The story starts when he says after reporting in his office as the cec education in Mombasa he looked out of the window and started reflecting on his life...from lenana school he was bullied
You have just opened my eyes... Maybe he is so coz of some unclosed chapter at that Provincial school he run away from. I will definitely ask and thanks Tendai. With advice from Ashley.... Do it now, I will do the soonest.
It's always good and advisable for parents to lend listening ear to their children,if your child complains of something, always have some interest and find out what the matter could be. Tendai you are a strong man and God will take you places because of your reference to his word and strangle to be the man you are.
A difficult story to share. So glad you found love eventually. Wishing you every success. Your story of overcoming is just .....I feel so so sad for all you went through. God bless you
He said his wife introduced him to Chibo who is his Father (Chibo is God) and through knowing Chibo and he was able to get a clean slate at a relationship with his biological father. Notice he said his grandma had a dream that a priest was born in her family when he was born? That's where his relationship with Chibo as in God comea in as a Father Son relationship
Really deep! I wish you could reach out to a certain friend of yours...he was in your campaign team and you worked together in the county govt of Msa. May the Holy Spirit minister to you...

In under 33 minutes, he has told his life story in a simple way loaded with feelings of forgiveness, love and passion. Great story.
As parents we should be careful not to make our kids bitter or angry.
Absolutely

😊😊
Bullying in Kenyan schools is so real even today....this should be looked into more deeply.
The near molestation was horrific. Something needs to be done.
Such candidness, such pain, such a journey, such revelation, such courage, such Grace! Tendai that's a story of such valor. Hallelujah!
The one time that he needed love and understanding...he received rejection..
I hope he has forgiven...

Elizabeth Wairimu I pray he has forgiven as well.
@Mimi ni mbarikiwa maybe he wasn't that close to his dad!

Good start. I had more questions than answers at the end though. Should consider coming back to tie the loose ends
There are no loose ends
I thank God Alliance Girls has a housemum system that works against bullying.
Tendai Mtana

Wah! This story has left me so confused. He has mentioned so many fathers that I'm unable to tell who is who.
He's only mentioned two fathers.
His biological father and Chibo who is God who is the Father over all
Don was just a mentor
lovely story but i feel like there are things that were left hanging
Thought I was the only one.. Did he go back to Lenana? Who is chibo? Me nimepotea honestly
Is Chibo the father in law lol! Too confusing
Chibo is God, he had no relationship with his biological dad so his wife introduced him to God.
The story starts when he says after reporting in his office as the cec education in Mombasa he looked out of the window and started reflecting on his life...from lenana school he was bullied
Hongera my Brother...I am speechless. I will definitely look for you.
Nyevu, thanks for sharing. Encouraged by your story.
You have just opened my eyes... Maybe he is so coz of some unclosed chapter at that Provincial school he run away from. I will definitely ask and thanks Tendai.

national, not provincial

You are my trauma mate,i dont knw my father too n im thinking of looking for him
Waaa can't help from shedding tears.. You are a brave young man... So brilliant and polished.. Thanks for sharing
What a powerful story....trauma, then the power of forgiveness and the many doors it has opened for you.
God the Father will never leave you and will always guide you with his wisdom . Amen Tendai
I understood every bit of the story. I am an A student.
Wow. This is so deep. My father, though now deceased was a loving man who I miss dearly.
It's sad hearing from this side of a father's story.
It's shocking scary what happens in schools. Stuck there.
Engaged.
Have done Landmark forum before....nice!
This story is rich waaah!
I struggled with Landmark day two
Love it! The father bit at the end left me a tad confused but the message is home.
He said his wife introduced him to Chibo who is his Father (Chibo is God) and through knowing Chibo and he was able to get a clean slate at a relationship with his biological father.

wow what a great advice to parents who children are in boarding school
I am speechless. Thanks for sharing your heart and life experience
Larry was soooo right!!...
true that's exactly what I say and convince myself that sometimes parents or so called family fail to give us what we want
wow! not by flesh but by spirit indeed
parents ought to notice before it's too late
Such a good presentation
This story seems disconnected. Awesome, though!
Connect it then. Mssschew
It's not disconnected
Such a moving story. We celebrate you!
I understood everyword..............
Wow…. I did not want this to end
Good story, can totally relate.
It has been a week of reflecting about Father, though we have heavenly father, our earthly male figurea have terribly treated us
This was deep so Deep .. thanks for sharing
Not the ending I was expecting.........you left us with more questions than answers.
Wish he would have told the dad from the beginning, what was up!
Very true. Am sure the dad would have done something different.
It depends what relationship they had. Many kids get abused and the parents have no idea.
Thank you Don!
Don is a great man
Really deep!
I wish you could reach out to a certain friend of yours...he was in your campaign team and you worked together in the county govt of Msa. May the Holy Spirit minister to you...
Chibo is our heavenly father!
Comeback...Joho is retiring...we will vote for you🤗
I wish to know more about you.
Really touching story.
My God this is crazy!I pray these things dont happen anymore in such schools am disappointed about ,Lenana the" prestigious" Lenana.
Thank you,May God God keep ,bless&prosper you.
He looks like Kirk Franklin. He is a good speaker.
I feel like he is withholding some information ..
Made me feel sad but learnt alot😢☺️it's tough
Resonating ......eye opener
Thanks Tendai for sharing. Very motivating. You share same name with a Zimbabwean friend of mine.
This is something that affects most teen who go to boarding school without objective
it's painful
Am confused whata the topic?
I've ran away, committed suicide, waah, when you hit that rock bottom, life doesn't matter...It's just you and God.
Sasa how have you committed suicide?
Deep. Very deep
Divine Reality...
Exceptional.
So inspiring indeed.
Who is Chibo? Lots more questions.
Myth, legend, spiritual ?
Chibo is God..
Spiritual Father but as human as you are. Not God. He's my father and I can imagine life before him
How I waited for him to say something Zimbo from his name could tell.
Wairimu Maina I am waiting too! Always excites me to see my people
Chibo is God guys.
Pick up on metaphors and his repetition and emphasis on God
So refreshing!
Tendai ....great name wat does it mean ?
The name is Zimbabwean meaning Be thankful to God
Deep!!
What a story
congratulations Tendai
Bold move sir
Wao! That was intense
I still did not understand who Chibo was lol. Does it mean the man who raised him and lived with his mother was not his real dad?
difficult experlence
Tendai!!! amazing....
Thumbs up♡
Oh no
True!

This is sad
Tendai Mtana
Too ambiguous

Very Levitical!
You had a privelleged life coz of that father you despise
I listened to it all and this despising his father did not come up at all.
You are entitled to your interpreteion same as I am
What you don't understand don't underrate it
But is a privileged life a worthy life?
