We live in the USA. All sign boards of shops are in English. Understandable ! Islamabad ! All signs of shops are in English ! Not understandable ! Why not in Urdu ? Do people in Pakistan think Urdu is an inferior language ?
@@walkingwithmilad - Most people in Pakistan have mastery in English ? ? ? ? Are you kidding me ? illiteracy in Pakistan is so high that a lot of village folks cannot read Urdu let alone English. Mastery of English in Pak is only among educated and well offs .I am sorry to say that Urdu is treated in Pak rather poorly when we should be proud of it as a beautiful language. You go to Iran next door , Iranians love Farsi and display their language proudly in Farsi. Same is true of all Arab countries. And the same with Turkish people. But in Pak if the sign boards are in Urdu , then it is not " modern " enough. Very unfortunate enough.
@@emoonkazmi6202 - We lost East Pakistan and one of the many reasons were Quaide AZAM imposed Urdu as a national language much to resentment of Bengalis. It should have been both Urdu and Bengali. I have lived in Canada during 60'ies. French Canadians were very resentful for English being the official language and that led to separatism movement. To calm them down now Canada has two official languages : English and French. Their government also provided a lot of additional package to French Canadians to halt separatism . Now it's old history. In the case of Urdu I have a feeling Pakistanis attach a bit of inferiority complex to Urdu. Which is very unfortunate.
You should visit malls in China, both signs are in mandarin Chinese and English, but no one can read and understand English as everyone can only understand Chinese, even us foreigners ourselves had to force to learn the language to understand Chinese mandarin signs. They have English signs but it doesn't make any sense, translation not accurate. Pakistan malls or other touristy places should add Chinese mandarin language, for Chinese visitors to increase tourism, as both China and Pakistan are best friend countries.

Your opinion is magnificent, but each country has national language and most Pakistani people have full mastery in English.
