American watching from my home of 15 plus years, Budapest, Hungary.Married to a Hungarian for going on 50 years.Different cultures that require allot of love to get through.
Despite my strong atheist conviction, I enjoyed this profound production, particularly because it did not unrealistically conclude with a sentimental happy end. While my younger self somehow believed in love, notwithstanding my refusal to embrace it, if I were Ben, I would also have opted for Gabrielle, given that I could NOT love someone I could never intrinsically respect. Indeed, I would NEVER be poised to embrace a serious relationship with a devout religious individual, especially if he/she were a Muslim, which I consider a horrific mythological cult based on never-ending sacrifices vis-a-vis an unforgiving, intolerant, restrictive, and hateful divinity! Watching it from New York City.
@@bale_ahmed Firstly, I would like to apologize for my passionately negative stance vis-a-vis Islam, given that I am certain that many of its followers are intrinsically good people. Yet, notwithstanding such a consideration, and given my high education in history, political science, and sociology (let alone my radical atheist stance), I strongly dislike (and oppose) most concepts of such an intolerant, radically punitive modern mythological sect. Apostasy, Jihad, female subjugation and circumcision, and drastic punishing acts, are clear examples of infamous cruelty undertaken to prohibit so-called "deviations" from liturgically acceptable mores. Let's not forget the public execution of homosexuals (which I know is performed in Iran) represents an intolerable, inhumane, hostile, and poisonous practice. Hence, what I know about this horrific creed is unendurable, requiring NO additional reading to change my mind. In fact, I compare modern Islam to Medieval Catholicism. Finally, while I wish all so-called religions would be vehemently discouraged, I feel that Islam should be FORBIDDEN, and thereby erased from civilized society!!!
@@bale_ahmed Apostasy, intolerance, female subjugation, exclusion, and circumcision, along with highly punitive methods designed to curb ill-perceived mores are clear examples of the monstrous nature of Islam - notwithstanding my belief that there are many good people subjected to such cruel, dogmatic dictates. Let's not forget the execution of homosexuals in Iran and the disciplinary indoctrination of atheists. In fact, I compare modern Islam to medieval Catholicism. Finally, if I were to have my way, all so-called religious (modern myths) would be discouraged, but Islam would be FORBIDDEN from the fabric of civilized, contemporary society...
