I love how down to earth you are, especially compared to other social media posts where everyone seems to have the best of everything, please stay this way!!!
I am so in love with your attitude Anna, you accept what life gives you with a smile and hard work( some tears here and there) In the end you won and you get what you love. In other words you don't let anything brings you down. So so proud of you, all my love
I'm 21 and a student in london and can't see myself not renting for the next approximately 392 years so I have absolutely no idea why I just watched a 30 minute bathroom renovation video but it was SO SATISFYING and looks fab and your videos are so enjoyable so thank you hehehe
Just chill, relax, breathe- this is the best advice. As someone who's building a home and have been living in a trailer for FOUR years, once things start coming together (starting to look at appliances!) it is so wonderful and worth it when you have a wonderful space! Congrats Anna, love the blue and that gray tile!
I've followed you for a few years now and it's so neat to see how your taste has become so refined - it's so timeless and chic. You said a few videos back that you really feel like you've found your niche when it comes to clothing and stuff, but I can see your refined style in your home too. So beautiful! Wishing you and Mark lots of more fun memories in your flat in the time to come.
I just love seeing renovations and updates before and afters. I’m very lucky I don’t have to look for a builder I married one. We have a building company. My husband knows plumbers electricians and joiners, he is the project manager on renovation jobs. I have to say I agree with your builder a shower curtain would look out of place in your new bathroom a glass screen is far more modern and sleek looking. You will be so excited when it’s all done and you can put little finishing touches. New towels, soap dispenser etc. Good kitchens and bathrooms are what make a house/flat sell easier when you finally feel it’s time to move.
I'm so inspired by how patient you were. You're so right, these things take time and it's refreshing to see that you took your time to make your home perfect. These days we're always rushing around to have everything picture-perfect..
Omg I love any home renovation show and UA-cam videos so you can imagine how happy I was when this video popped up. I can't wait to see how the bathrooms look like. The hallway is looking amazing with that blue-ish color!
It looks stunning so far - LOVE that blue colour in the hallway. And very glad to hear that you are getting a glass screen on the bath - that was my first thought, don't bother with a shower curtain again. Can't wait for part 2 now, good luck the last bits!
This video was so encouraging, you really do have to do things at your own pace. It's so easy to be look around at all the jobs that are undone and be hard on ourselves.
Love, love, love seeing the renovations Anna! I'm a bit obsessed with home renovations and I think you and Mark have done a great job with your choices. I can't wait to see it all finished - and I'm sure you can't either!!
Thank you for sharing this. We are redoing our bathroom this Spring and it has taken us over 3 years to find a contractor to do the job. In the meantime the 1970's wood paneling and paperboard walled shower has been deteriorating to the point where I can no longer even clean it. It was great to see what you started with and that all of the work will be worth it in the end.
Your flat renovation is goals. Your choice of everything is just gorgeous. I've been an all white girl but that colour on landing walls is just beyond beautiful. I also am in love with the bathroom, you have amazing taste.
Thought we have an old bathroom😂 and every UA-camr have this realy fancy bathrooms. Thats instagram and UA-cam reality, you only see what you should. Really good to have a look at before and after. 👍
Myself and my partner recently purchased our first home and ran into some big problems like having to replace the entire roof etc. So our renovation budget is vanished and we have no floor in one room and so many other things and it can be sooooo overwhelming everything that needs doing. Love seeing your progress while eating noodles sitting on moving blankets for carpet, gives me hope. Thankyou
Well done Anna, great video and your passion for the project shined throughout. It nice to have some varied subject matter. One of the things that made it so enjoyable to watch is that it is real and relatable and I loved that xoxo
Loving this! We bought a home in 2015 and it's only just on it's way to being done. We can't afford to do everything we want yet as we are saving for our wedding. It's definitely lovely and livable but the biggest thing I've learnt is that if think something is going to take a certain amount of time, times it by atleast 3! Happy New (feeling) home!
Anna, for mould the best is HG Mould Spray. It's amazing, you just spray tiles or whatever, leave it for a night and all is gone. If you ever have a problem with this again -try it. It's my the most precious cleaning product!
Thanks for sharing. One tip for your bathroom. I think you should have a toilet and sink combo and make the other room a storage cupboard for your ironing board and things. I’ve recently got a combo and it’s great storage and looks really modern.
Loved this! We are at the very start of our renovation so your advice to take things slow is really what I needed - it’s so hard to feel like we need everything done as soon as possible!
When you guys ever decide to leave I think a good way to think of it as you leaving this home in better shape that you got it. I like to think of renovations as showing love to a home that’s been neglected, you would be passing on the love to the next owners.
Thank you Anna, this made me feel so much better! We bought our house last June and 10 months on we are no where near to where we hoped to be with renovations! There is rubble everywhere from having the electrics done and we are still living out of boxes! It can be very draining and overwhelming feeling that we need to do everything all at once so hearing that it's a marathon and not a sprint has really helped :) You guys are doing a great job, can't wait to see more of your progress!
Me & my daughter are finishing the painting in her room this morning. It's taken us about 3 weeks all told as I have RA so can't whizz through it like I used to in a few days, but I still love doing it myself.
I can relate with pretty much everything you said. We bought our house a year ago and there are still so many projects to be done, and that is okay. It really is a marathon! We are at the end of a kitchen remodel and the wait was long because we have a good quality builder and he is very busy. And you do get used to things the way they are! You even can get used to having your refrigerator in your living room...haha
It's starting to look great, love the bathroom tiles. We had a lot of work done last year which lasted about 4 months and it is stressful but so worth it in the end. Can't wait to see part 2.
I love hearing all about home renovations, and I can't wait to see the final product of your bathroom and landing! I would love to see more from you all about your home
When you said you cried when you got the keys, it really resonated with me. We bought a semi that hadn’t been touched since the 1960’s so needed all new plumbing, electrics, damp proofing, building work, bathroom and kitchen etc. When we got the keys it all became very real and we walked round with the electrician who kept asking where we wanted the sockets and I freaked out as I felt we had to have it all mapped out and finalised. So I also began crying, which put a dampener on the day! But we love our house, still have the hall and landing to do - love your colour choice! Really been enjoying the Instagram stories updates xx
Thank you for being real!!! I’m 46 and I know what it’s like to live in a fixer upper...a few fixers. I think a lot of young people think things need to be perfect from day one. Well done friend!
Dear Anna, thankyou so much for sharing your renovations with us. We have lived in a stripped back house for many years now. We have an outside toilet!! We were unable to do renovations for some years and now we are able to do it but have not got round to it! My partner owns his own business and he spends many many hours working and this sometimes I think is an excuse for not going home too. Seeing your bathroom renovation made me realise how little time these things take (in the grand scheme of living in a house needing to renovate for years) and so I am going to make my partner actually start our house process. I am happy to help do the practical things but need him telling me how to do it first 😂 Anyhow, thankyou, you have made me realise the little hurdle we need to push over to get things started, actually needs to happen NOW 😊
Love this video! Thank you so much for making it! My boyfriend and I are currently doing up our flat and it's so refreshing to see someone talk about it so honestly, I cried too, pleased I'm not the only one!! Xx
A couple of other things to think about - if you know you're going to move soon and your space is small - try to envision a more neutral palate and layout when renovating for resell value (e.g. open spaces are more in than a decade or two ago). I know you mentioned why - but not tearing down the wall and collapsing the bathroom to one room is not the best for resale value (at least in Canada/US) - and would drive me mad! I had a quirky rental flat like that - but found it super inconvenient - but some people don't mind. Of course, use colour since you will be living there now - but at least where I live - it helps to sell with a neutral colour to open up the space (tricks you to think its bigger - easy paint job when selling). Also, to save costs but get expert advice - you can hire a designer/architect/interior designer not for the whole project but as a consultant (hourly for example right in the thinking stage (even a coupel of hours is helpful) to help you think about how to use your space properly and general ideas and then go on your own. If you can't afford luxury materials (of course everyone can't) - you can try a small detail with high-end material - like a small piece of marble somewhere that works etc.or a lighting fixture to add a small high-end touch. You want to enjoy while you're living there but think about your future and selling it to. You seem quite calm with the renos - so cheers to you - contractors are hit/miss and can keep moving the timeline so glad you got a good one! Looks good! (these are additional tips I had to learn/from personal experience (living in a city with housing prices through the roof)) - not criticism - just other add ons to future selling thinking).
Loved this video! My fiance and I bought a fixer upper, and all of our other friends bought new so nobody has had much advice to offer! You're so right when you say it's more of a marathon! Everything takes so much longer that you think it will!
I actually like your common sense approach to this. I am currently looking for fixer uppers to move into, and my mom told me to focus on things that might be a health hazard to help with your budget. Plus, living in a home for awhile you tend to know what you actually need to get done, versus what you want.
Loved it! It's also so interesting to see the every day progress on IG Stories. :) Will you do a quick walk-through tour of the whole flat in the part 2 video? Thank you for all your helpful tips!
I'm currently halfway through renovation my new studio for work and I have been a mix of anxiety, depressed and manic for the last month worrying about it. Your video helps heaps to put things into perspective. Good luck Anna it looks great already x
I'm a million miles away from even considering the possibility of buying a place and doing it up myself, but it's still been so interesting to follow your journey! Been absolutely loving the insta stories and now this update, even though this is in no way relevant to my life right now. But a time will come when I move out of my student flat with a bright orange bathroom (yep, not kidding), and maybe someday I'll be able to plan a living space that's JUST like I want it. A girl can dream... :) The hallway and bathroom look amazing, can't wait to see the end result!
This video is a treat! I need to renovate my place, but I can't face it at this point. I have had to face the reality that I am not ready for such trauma! Horrible trauma! LOL! The dreadful part of it is that I have twenty plus bookcases full of books, not factoring in the extra bookcases full of bags, shoes and other paraphernalia! It will be done eventually, but not just yet. Thank you for the video and have a fabulous weekend!
That wall colour is gorgeous - totally would have supported deep charcoal too, but I think you made the right decision. Keep the reno (Aussie for renovation haha) videos coming! 😘
On the Farrow & Ball drainpipe thing - could you do a homewares/interiors ‘what I’m not gonna buy’ video? Whether it’s things that don’t float your boat or trends that you don’t think will last
Hi Anna, I really enjoyed this video, I love home renovations and have done quite a lot over the years as I am a bit older than a lot if your subscribers and my husband is a builder. Top tips, (from things I have learnt and things that he has said) plan, plan and plan some more! There is nothing worse for a builder than working for someone who doesn't really know what they want and keeps changing their mind! Also, speak to your builder and try and go and look at bathrooms in builders merchants, often they do have showrooms and the suites are quite often of better quality and no more expensive than the DIY sheds like B&Q and Homebase. Good luck and can't wait to see your finished project Anna! 😀
This is giving me serious inspiration for our first home! Love the choices you've made to update the flat, I know it isn't done yet, but it looks stunning.
So pleased for you and Mark, the renovations are looking amazing. Loved your advice at the end about being patient, wished I had done that 8 years ago!! 🌸xx
It’s beautiful Anna! So weird, we just had our bathroom done and our tiles are almost identical (although smaller) from Gayafores. I’m doing before and after vids too. I love watching renovation videos x
It'll be fun to see your progress and the finished product! I love the gray/blue. I so want to have someone come in and do our woodwork...I can't even think about that :(
Ah I’m glad it wasn’t just me who cried when we got our first house keys! We bought a do-er upper and I felt so overwhelmed by everything that needed doing. You’re completely right that it’s a marathon & not a sprint, we took almost 4 years doing it up and sold it making a nice little profit. We’re now in our forever home and are doing this up much more slowly!
Loved it all Anna! I can't wait for a full proper tour, front door on in your flat. I love the pain you chose for the hall way, it's really striking! I can imagine this is so exciting for you!
I loved this video! I bought my own house in September and it literally needed everything doing to it! So far I’ve had central heating installed, the electrics redone, a weird window between two of my rooms taken out and knocked through and I’ve currently got the plasterers in! This video has definitely helped me to keep going!! More home content like this please Anna!! Xx
Love this video! I moved into my flat 4 years ago and oh my it was a major do-er upper. There were tears along the way but it was so worth it in the end! This video is making me want to do it all over again!
Love this video Anna! I've been house renovating for the past 8 months and nearly everything you've said resonates with me so much!! Particularly about it being a marathon not a sprint. Oh and I totally cried when i first got the keys too...!! (And then about once a week for the first couple of months) but progress does happen and it's so exciting when it all finally comes together :) wishing you both lots of luck with the rest of the work and can't wait to see some more updates! X
I'm so happy for you guys that everything is coming together !! Looks beautiful 😍🙌 Maybe a question for the next video: If you could have done anything differently, in terms of how you went about things, what would it be? Lots of love xxx
O my goodness this renovation project is an absolute dream! Love how you approached it. What a massive task! Loved the hardwood floors in the kitchen but do understand the choice for tiles! You two have great taste and loved the video.
"he said I can have a bath but I'm not allowed to splash around" i dont know why but this had me howling! Loved watching this different style of video, so interesting to see the progress!
Love this video, so helpful! It's amazing how much your flat has progressed, I didn't realize you were doing all this work to it! Looking forward to the finished bathroom!
I'm so glad the builders talked you into a glass shower screen! Much nicer than a curtain.
I love how down to earth you are, especially compared to other social media posts where everyone seems to have the best of everything, please stay this way!!!
I am so in love with your attitude Anna, you accept what life gives you with a smile and hard work( some tears here and there)
In the end you won and you get what you love. In other words you don't let anything brings you down. So so proud of you, all my love

Ha - thank you love! X
Same here. Buying a place seems kind of impossible to reach haha.
Just chill, relax, breathe- this is the best advice. 14:40 Looks like my Dulux Denim Drift. Love how it's matt and scrubbable 😀
So satisfying to watch! Lovely to see the progress.
I really enjoyed this video
I just love seeing renovations and updates before and afters. I’m very lucky I don’t have to look for a builder I married one. We have a building company. I love the blue color paint in the stairway.

Looking forward to seeing the finished results. Fabulous colors Anna. You and Mark are two amazing young people.
Miriam Soughley yes! Can't wait to see the results! And also yes, they are so nice 😊💗
I REALLY like that the toilet is separate from the tub area...I’ve never seen that before but it’s nice!! No toilet nastiness in the “clean” area!!
This video was so encouraging, you really do have to do things at your own pace. It's so easy to be look around at all the jobs that are undone and be hard on ourselves.
I think this might be my favourite video of yours, Anna! Very relatable and real. Will definitely use some of your tips!
Love your positive spirit throughout the chaos!! Would love to see a full tour of your home when its all done!
It's the most beautiful part of your life as husband and wife when you make your home together 😊
Love the renovation!!! Everything looks so cool now!
Nice work you guys! It is so refreshing to renovate your place. I know it's exhausting but when you're finished you will love it!!!
Well done Anna, great video and your passion for the project shined throughout. It nice to have some varied subject matter. One of the things that made it so enjoyable to watch is that it is real and relatable and I loved that xoxo
Love Anna (and Mark) and love home renovations, I also like longer videos. Everything about this makes me happy 😬
OMG your old sink and old toilet are EXACTY what I was looking for when renovating my bathroom!! I love art deco porcelain in bathrooms!
Anna, you are genuinely the most sensible UA-cam EVER. the best role model! #goals.

Oh my god... those tiles 😍😍 are amazeballs!
Anna, for mould the best is HG Mould Spray. It's amazing, you just spray tiles or whatever, leave it for a night and all is gone. If you ever have a problem with this again -try it. It's my the most precious cleaning product!
So down to earth! You're so lovely Anna
I looooove how good your hallway turned out with the color. Well done on the whole house, wow!
Love your outlook! Wishing you and Mark all the best x
Loved this, your flat is looking great. We recently fixed up our place and I love that you are keeping it real!
So great to see the progress all in one video! Love the complete transformation in the bathroom. Shame you already sorted your door handles!
Have you thought about a shelf to store your towels. You can roll them and stack them, it’s a great storage option for your towels.
That’s such a great idea! X
When you guys ever decide to leave I think a good way to think of it as you leaving this home in better shape that you got it. I like to think of renovations as showing love to a home that’s been neglected, you would be passing on the love to the next owners.
When I saw your bathroom I wanted to cry! But now! GREAT!
Thank you Anna, this made me feel so much better! We bought our house last June and 10 months on we are no where near to where we hoped to be with renovations! It's starting to look great, love the bathroom tiles. We had a lot of work done last year which lasted about 4 months and it is stressful but so worth it in the end. Can't wait to see part 2.
Love that color in the halls 😍 want that in my bedroom!
So excited to see the finished results you have great taste! Also your hair looks very pretty!
Glad they recomennded you to go with a glass screen, it's so nice and much more hygenic than a curtain :)
Beautiful job! Makes me want to redo all my bathrooms. 😀
I love hearing all about home renovations, and I can't wait to see the final product of your bathroom and landing! I would love to see more from you all about your home

Love this video! Thank you so much for making it! My boyfriend and I are currently doing up our flat and it's so refreshing to see someone talk about it so honestly, I cried too, pleased I'm not the only one!! Xx
I think a separate toilet is ideal, especially when you have people staying over, it’s not a problem when the bathroom is occupied.
Yes we have people stay round at the weekend often and it's so handy to have the toilet separate! x

I've done something similar. It can be quite a grind but it's so satisfying when it's finished - and it's exactly the way you want it!
Love this Anna! Also your make up is GORGEOUS
Yay! Thanks for sharing Anna, I loved this xx
Can't wait to see the house when it's all done!
Love those bathroom tiles! Can’t wait to see the finished result.
Loved watching the process. Everything looks beautiful and understated. The hallway color is gorgeous!
That wall colour is gorgeous - totally would have supported deep charcoal too, but I think you made the right decision. Keep the reno (Aussie for renovation haha) videos coming! 😘
I can’t wait to see the finished product!
Ok this was so entertaining to watch. Maybe we are getting old but I definitely enjoy all this home content lately as well. Love your channel!
On the Farrow & Ball drainpipe thing - could you do a homewares/interiors ‘what I’m not gonna buy’ video? Whether it’s things that don’t float your boat or trends that you don’t think will last
I loved this. You stayed so calm.
Love renovating vlogs!!!!
Love this video! And yes to whoever suggested the walk through once the whole process is done! 😊😊
I loved this! Thank you so much for sharing. Your place looks lovely!
It'll be fun to see your progress and the finished product! I love the gray/blue. I so want to have someone come in and do our woodwork...I can't even think about that :(
Nowhere near even moving out yet, but I just adore seeing people’s renovation processes! It’s all looking great 😍
Ah I’m glad it wasn’t just me who cried when we got our first house keys!
Looks beautiful 😍🙌
Maybe a question for the next video:
If you could have done anything differently, in terms of how you went about things, what would it be?
Lots of love xxx
love watching this, cant wait to see the end result! x
O my goodness this renovation project is an absolute dream! Love how you approached it. What a massive task! Loved the hardwood floors in the kitchen but do understand the choice for tiles! You two have great taste and loved the video.
Loved the insight into getting renovations done. So interesting! 🙋🏻♀️😊💙
"he said I can have a bath but I'm not allowed to splash around" i dont know why but this had me howling! Loved watching this different style of video, so interesting to see the progress!
Never clicked on a video so fast. Love a good renovation story! I‘m excited to see the end result. Loving it so far already!
Love this! We are currently in the same EXACT situation! Everything cost so much more time and money than anticipated.
Love this video, so helpful! It's amazing how much your flat has progressed, I didn't realize you were doing all this work to it! Looking forward to the finished bathroom!
