- SLINKY PLUSH IS OUT NOW! ONLY 10 DAYS LEFT AT THE TIME OF UPLOADING! www.ownaj.com/collections/plu...
Today I dive into a topic that few people seem to be discussing, and that's the FNAF Book Covers! Why do they look the way they do? Why do they always feature these random characters nobody knows about? Why does the Character Encyclopedia? Well today I'm gonna complain about them! Because I've been putting up with them for far too long as a collector...

@@Wailerman that book wasn't properly released so I didn't count it
@@MRSprings yeah, ig that makes sense
Still would've been pretty nice to see you give your feelings about it
My favourite fnaf book cover is the one where the charachters dont even appear in the story and its just fazgoo again.
The Puppet Carver was a pretty good book, in my opinion.

I actually love how goofy the encyclopedia cover is. Random tiny characters popping out from behind others and the characters floating off in the void makes it really silly.
like something scott would've made as a reddit shitpost
Honestly if the final pizzaplex book was a cover of a Nightmare animatronic i think it would of genuinely built more hype than just "B7-2 and an out of place foot"
Idk man I really liked B7
@@Cubeytheawesome Thats fair, I'm just saying that if the cover was of a Nightmare it might of generated hype with the wider fandom.
as a graphic designer, the inconsistencies with all the elements and png used for the encyclopedia is so triggering 😂
love how most of the covers with book-original characters don't even match the descriptions of said characters. like ralpho and the puppet carver puppets, or how the gumdrop angel doesn't have a gumdrop nose, which was important to the plot, or how nexie's braids are said to stick out like spider legs, etc.
i never even considered alternate cover stories and now im upset cause nearly every book with original characters as the cover has a superior option
Or stuff like Eleanor's design in official artwork being COMPLETELY different than how she's described in the books...
That's my biggest pet peeve with the art for FNAF books, they're never accurate to the description they get in the book
regardless of who made them, this is a communication issue. illustrators usually receive a description of what they need to draw and more than often the book itself is wip when the art is already done. i have not one book with illustrations that aren't even scenes in the book.
Not a cover, but how about the incorrect description of Ballora in “Room for One More”. That makes me really annoyed lol.
Tbh book covers can range a lot from weird looking or even bad, to really GOOD looking ones. It’s so odd lol. It’s probs a quality control thing.
I mean look at the cover for the encyclopedia haha.
“ never judge a book by its cover “
GIMMIE THE BOOK WITH FREDDY FAZBEAR ON IT
Hi Avery, I used to work at a bookstore specifically in the section these books were sold. I can confirm gumdrop angel was the ugliest and people were constantly confused if it was part of the series.
I can also confirm that at least 2 copies of Into the Pit were sold
I’m gonna defend the Fazbear’s frights and PizzaPlex covers a bit.
The reason why people got excited for these books because we were all curious to know who these characters were. What made them interesting and intriguing was that we haven’t seen them before, and it works if both preexisting and new characters showed up in different covers which they did.
Of course we would still want new stuff in every new fnaf game, some preexisting assets can work like HW2, but it’s good to also add things we haven’t seen before, or else it’s just underwhelming.
The movie did this smart. They knew we were gonna expect this and that, but not like a twist with Vanessa being the daughter of Afton, and that what makes it interesting.
I have been in this fandom for years. And I have never understood why nightmare was on the cover of twisted ones. Like on one hand I get it there probably was no Scott render for twisted Freddy, but why nightmare? He doesn't even vaguely appear in the book. Like you said nightmare freddy would have been actually better Especially since it could kind of be a twist like oh, you expected the nightmares, but here's They're evolution the twisted ones.
I assumed it was to imply that the Twisted animatronics are parallels to the Nightmares. But you're right, Nightmare Freddy should have been featured instead.
The fact that book 4 in tales to the pizzaplex is literally just lagoona blue from monster high baffles me
Fun Fact: In Volume 7 of Fazbear Frights, the cover story was going to be The Breaking Wheel, but it was scrapped and replaced with The Cliffs for being too scary. You should look it up, it’s really cool!
I hate that so much.
@@nekolaiwastaken If the Fazbear Frights books had the same 12+ ratings as Tales From the Pizzaplex, maybe that cover would have been approved.
FFF, they turned Springtrap into a symbol of pregnancy, why the hell are they sidelining actual horror? If they want to cater to young children, maybe they shouldn't have a character give birth to an in-universe video game mascot.
Scott said that the reason why nightmare is on the cover is because scott didnt want to model twisted freddy just for a cover
Twisted Freddy does look like an absolute pain to model. So, fair.
@@thecreatorofpc7929 Maybe that's why there are so few fan models.
God, as an artist the cover choices for these books are AWFUL. It's not even that hard, most of them are OBVIOUS choices.
I'm glad I own a copy of The Silver Eyes with the old cover now.
I do like how on both sides of the character encyclopedia, there's just a variant of Balloon Boy inexplicably vibing in mid-air in the exact same corner
I just love in the books instead of putting new characters that are memorable they just put characters that have to do with NOTHING in the FNAF series
Gotta love how the Fnaf books started with a cool shot of Freddy with this nice black and red lighting and then we get to normal cat with a human face
And also some terminator af image in tales 5
@@Cubeytheawesome BIG FAX
@@Cubeytheawesome😂
Also a pink humanoid girl with lollies everywhere 💀
I feel like the only reason the less known characters were picked for the cover is to show us what they look like. I think that's the only reason.
Honestly, your not wrong. There are some book covers that could be better, and there are some that are bland, but I do like them regardless. But I will admit they could be better.
Since you're super curious about it, well I think Gumdrop Angel is my favourite story and book cover in my opinion!
Since I already heard your take on it and the story overall, these books were only made to tie in hints towards the lore. Even in weird or off putting ones the slightest part in a story can give off a little chunk of what happens in the games.
Plus these books kinda give a take on the Goosebumps series, but with Fnaf!
Also Bobbiedots part 2/The Bobbiedots Conclusion is my favourite from the TFTP!
Just note that these books are not meant to be taken seriously and are just all in good fun, despite how chaotic they can get!
I also think it’s pretty darn cool, but I can also see how it might not “fit in” lol
That book gave me nightmares 😂😭
My guess about why Nightmare was on the front cover of TTO was because Scott probably didn't have enough time to make a Twisted Freddy model, but that's just my guess
im glad someone made a video about this cause younger me was always confused with alot of these like the twisted ones. and even to now when ever i see some of these newer books i just dont know what im seeing. this is such a fun topic and i love seing people talk about it.
The reason of nightmare being on the twisted ones cover could be because Scott is linking the "black round chips with a blinking red light on it inscribed with Afton robotics that make the animatronics change shape when it's activated" to FNAF 4, those animatronics exist because of the allusion disks.
I think i might now know why nightmares on the cover.
Matpat made a theory recently about nightmare being a glitching hallucination disc, his jumpscare glitching, you can see through him, etc. idk about nightmarionne but yeah. I thought it was fine but then i found this video and thought about why nightmare is on the cover
If the theory is true, than scott was trying to tell us all along with the cover since the books about hallucination discs.
the springbonnie fazbear frights cover is still the best cover out of them all.
As a person who genuinely doesn't like the Fnaf Books. I can confirm the covers do S U C K. Random question. But if you have seen "Don't Hug me I'm scared" what are your thoughts on it?
As someone who likes the books, they’re definitely not the best lol.
I'm a fan of gumdrop angel I think her design is really cool yet very scary and the idea and story is very terrifying to think about and I feel really bad for the girl who gets the fate at the end
I am still salty about how the Fazbear Frights Graphic Novel Volume 1 completely dropped the ball for Plushtrap Chaser on the cover
the reason nightmare was on the twisted ones cover was because scott was hinting that the twisted ones had something to do with fnaf 4, which was right because it showed us that the nightmares used illusion disks
I always thought the FNAF silver eyes and The Fourth Closet cover looked silly.
Because of the Millions of memes with the classic “Red angry shining eyes”.
8:03 ME. I AM. I LIKE THE GUMDROP ANGLE COVER. I THINK IT LOOKS COOL, ESPECIALLY THE CONTRAST IT HAS AGAINST THE OTHER COVERS, IT MAKES IT STAND OUT IN A UNIQUE WAY.
The encyclopaedia cover is absolutely atrocious. Why do the renders vary so much in quality?! Well, I suppose that goes for every image in the book.
Also, what's your opinion on the covers for the graphic novels?
8:41 “They look like showdown bandit characters”
Man I haven’t heard the name showdown bandit in years lol
16:05 You put so much effort into hiding your hands and then we see this lol
The thing is a couple days ago I was jsut thinking about what the silver eyes series covers of the books should instead look like
Thank you for addressing this! I've always been baffled by the book covers ever since Fazbear Frights went off the rails. I share the same feelings as you for every cover. Although I do really like Tiger Rock's cover. I'm so glad I got the original Silver Eyes book before they changed the cover. I'm a big reader in general so I was so excited when Scott posted that original cover on his website back in 2015. I still have that first teaser saved when it was just titled "The Untold Story" before the other animatronics were added in the background.
I don't understand why the books became so disjointed and disorganized. They started out consistent, but then the second story in a book would be the cover/title for some reason. Or the summary on the back would have the stories out of order. All of the books feel pretty rushed, and I always question just how involved Scott is in the stories themselves (specifically some of the Fazbear Frights that have next to nothing to do with FNAF). Does he just give his co-writers some general plot points and they do the rest? Or does he actually sit down and write some of them entirely without anyone else's input? A lot of the stories that barely have any FNAF-esque stuff in them make me feel like I'm wasting my time. I'm buying these books for a FNAF reading experience, yet 80% of them are so disconnected from what I want that they just read like boring short stories that all end the same way. Honestly, how many main characters actually live? But I'm sorry, we're talking about the covers.
Fun fact: The Cliffs was originally going to be titled The Breaking Wheel. There was a concept cover and everything, but I guess it was too horrifying? Even though the story is far more traumatizing to read than the art is to look at.
When I heard of the puppet carver I thought they were gonna be styled like the puppet
I had no idea you could see the other animatronics on the cover of the silver eyes! Awesome detail
I like the survival logbook one , has an official logo render
my hatred for the frostbear might be a little bit unhinged but I JUST CANNOT STAND THAT. JUST USE GLITCHTRAP. SHADOW BONNIE FROM AR. FREDBEAR FROM THAT ONE SECRET UCN JUMPSCARE. SOMETHING THAT MAKES SENSE. A RANDOM SKIN, A *HOLIDAY* SKIN THAT HAS NO RELEVANCE TO AN ULTIMATE GUIDE WHATSOEVER? WHAT A SICK JOKE. I GENUINELY HATE HOW RANDOM THAT IS SO MUCH.
I was bouta say, “how did I miss this video,” but when I heard him say that at 2:14 I knew I had watched this before 🤣💀
im a fan of the gumdrop angel. the cover is why i got the book :3
Welp. I picked up Gumdrop Angel for the cover because I liked how it looked. Kinda wish the story itself was a bit better though. What We Found definitely should have been the cover.
Why is your voice so awesoomeee
I loveee it
Keep going am sure that in less than a blink this gonna be the most popular FNaF channel ever!!❤
"Graphic design is my passion."
One thing I noticed about some of the books is that the cover story wasn't ACTUALLY the cover story! It would be the second story so it wouldn't make any sense to have it pictured on the cover. I also don't get why the Bobbiedots Conclusion was the last chapter in its book and not the first, since you'd think people reading the first book would want to pick up right where they left off in the second book. I guess the writers figured we wouldn't read the other chapters if they weren't first.
What sucks is that my school had actually gotten some of the books, but I couldn't check them out because of something they had to do first before people can check out new books, and it was like a couple of days before graduation.
Part 2 soon with the graphic novels and about how the artstyle is? Some of the art is surprisingly good! ....then you have out of stock...
This video was great! Seriously, i really love It✨
There are some book covers i disagree with you a little, but that encyclopedia...you are totally right 💀 Why they make the cover like that? It's weird and full of renders with different lighting which makes this worse. I know this is asking too much (i think) but It would be cool If they have made unique animatronic renders just for this encyclopedia cover, i think It would make the cover waay better.
But anyway, great video as always!
I will still never forget fat springtrap
10:01 This looks like a dark deception cover
Why is channel quickly rising to one of my absolute favourite channels
I honestly do like the colors with the red eyes for funtime freddy
This is good time to talk about how bad the graphic novels are. The art-styles used (at least in collections and the silver eyes graphic novels) are so ugly and do not fit fnaf at. Fnaf should not have a blank generic art-style. The only good looking one is the plushtrap chaser comic, although it can look weird at times, it’s art-style is what all fnaf comic should try to be, Unnerving
Not to mention the fazbear's fright graphic novel 1 cover that has this really cool (I'll be not accurate to the original story) drawing of plushtrap and then the actual book has a chipmunk with acorns shoved in it's mouth...
0:11 i dont feel safe
Bro the one book with the cat face was so weird I thought it wasn’t a fnaf book💀
I really like the survival logbook cover and the first fazbear frights up to bunny call
POV: 6-year-old me buying the Nintendo handbook
you did not just bring the Scholastic Book Fair
Can someone explain if Slinky and Springs are the same person? I'm having a bit of confusion, been a while since I watched. They sound the same, but the transitions and the two avatars make me think... they're a couple?
(About the intro) I remember this Zelda book i got. I already knew everything in it, but i still liked reading it.
8:00 All I can say about it is that "gumdrop angel" would be a really cool name for a pop band, but literally no other praise
the cookbook (idea coming from a fan) literally has a concept art logo and a shutterstock purchased image. whoever is in charge for covers, they need to go. there's no way I'm ever buying this shit.
Great vid as always!
10:18-10:24
I don't know why that felt so awkward
If im correct fazbear frights 7's cover was originally the breaking wheel before being changed to the cliffs for being too graphic submechaniphobia also had different art i dont know why it was changed though (also i like the cover for felix the shark)
I'm trying to get in the fnaf movie sequel currently and this will go till it stops filming and good vide
How would you design the covers?
15:01 I actually really like this cover.
in the defense of the twisted ones, nightmare is supposed to have a lot of lore connections to the twisted animatronics
I honestly prefer The Twisted Ones over the Nightmares lol
I never noticed how messy the gumdrop angel cover was until now
As someone whos never read a Fnaf book in their life. I really like the gumdrop angel book cover in a not fnaf perspective. That looks nothing like Fnaf in any shape or form but does look fairly interesting on a body horror perspective.
YES! no one ever mentions this which i find strange because of the horrible book covers (especially recently)
Not to mention how innacurate the illustrations are to how they are described in the books
OH MY GOD FINALLY SOMEONE BRINGS UP THESE HORRENDOUS THINGS
Nightmare is the cover of the twisted ones because in the book has allusion disc's
when gumdrop angel popped up my first thought was "that's absolutely atrocious" and then you said the exact same thing lol
great video and the slinky plush looks so good i will be buying
Do not look up turkish cover art for the hard cover silver eyes trilogy
Yoooooooo let’s goo new video 🎉
I just took the twisted ones cover to mean that due to the glitches as if those illusion disks were real it's making you see something not really like nightmare instead of any twisted one which let's be fair nightmare is cooler
That or if you put the books beside each other it's Freddy from the first book plus the glitchy disk becomes a monster
Technically, fereddy frostbear isn't a skin but its own character. TECHNICALLY
im a fan of the gumdrop angel design but i never read the book
Personally, I’m about to read submechaniphobia or however the hell you spell it, and the cover looks pretty good. Same with into the pit.
I have the three books.
The silver eyes, the twisted ones, and the fourth closet….I have the good silver eyes, and i really am confused on why Scott put nightmare on the cover.
I’ve read B7, the sequel one, happs, bunny call, tiger rock, the cliffs, and I _think_ one more.
yeah, I'll admit I hate gumdrop angel. so, I too am confused why they made it the front runner.
…. Now I want to recreate the book covers
Whats your outro music it is an absolute banger
Pinball Carnival from Sonic Superstars!
@@MRSprings ah, thanks. It sounded familiar
10:20 Um... you said that twice...
I’m a fan of Gumdrop Angel. The cover and the story. The FNAF community can throw tomatoes at me if you’d like.
Yooo love these vids
This makes me want to make new book covers lol
I found nexie to be a good cover design, this is a opinion. You don't have to agree to this, do not leave hate comments.
Man you are gonna faint when you see the Turkish versions of the silver eyes, the twisted ones and the 4th closet.
Just search:
'Fnaf gümüş gözler'
'Fnaf Anormaller' (its not even translated right)
'Fnaf 4. Dolap' (the cover is literally stole from God knows where and it has TOY ANIMATRONICS😭)
I will say gumdrop angel and friendly face are terrible for fnaf covers, but holy shit are they freaky looking to me in a vacuum
OK, i couldnt entirely make sense of this question from the about section, so are MR Springs and Slinky thought of as two different entities, or like ywo different sides of the same coin, so to say?
And I am the Gumdrop Angel fan, its probably mainly from the fact it was my first book from Fazbear Frights
(8:11)
I saw the chef who’s name I will never say cause you know.
The cliff graphic novel is the book version of clickbait
*pushes up glasses*
Uh actually Frostbear’s technically not a skin since he has his own CPU 🤓
