It's always so wild finding a song that's
absolutely astounding, and then discovering that the UA-cam music video has less than 20k views.
It's so crazy how some songs just need a little exposure, and then they'd be absolutely in the top charts.
Ladies, gents, and others, I do believe this band might just indeed be able to claim the title of truly being the bee’s knees. This song is fire.

Been trying to figure out what this songs about and here's what I've got:
So the first 2 verses sound like a girl who has lost her way in life due to addiction, and is living with much older man due to this, probably her dealer or someone who is using her body, because they know she needs him to get her fix. She's saying to herself " how did get here?" and saying "my souls grown cold and lost and I'm throwing it off" means she's decided to end her life.
Verses 3 and 4 are a completely different story, about a boy this time, he's lost in his own head and is probably going through the normal growing pains around us that most people do, but he's got nobody around him that cares to tell them they're normal, he states he talked about killing himself before, but nobody took him seriously, but now he's really going to do it as he reiterates "my souls grown cold and lost and I'm throwing it off".
"The Distance" translates to "Life". People "fall behind", i.e. kill themselves, but at the writer keeps reiterating "go make the most of a bad existence" meaning "just keep on livin...L.I.V.I.N."
That's just my two cents or maybe I'm being too optimistic, but the song is so upbeat that its hard not to be.

Can anyone tell me what these lyrics mean? My guess is someone who’s struggling with drugs, and religion isn’t helping her curb her habits.. “I fall behind” refers to her friend being more successful in rehabbing?
I know this is an old-ish comment but here's my thoughts
the first stanza is about a girl who is struggling with mental health and chooses to self medicate. she was trying to cope with religion - but she loses that "a book slips through her hands". she doesn't think that normal medications "can pull it off".
because of that, the singer lost their friend to addiction. the stanza with "I'll fall behind" is a plea- it is better to "make the most of a bad existence" than to "fall behind" into either drug addiction or, in the next case, suicide.
second case is more obvious- the metaphor is suicide.
in both cases, their "soul has gotten cold and tired" and they're "throwing it out" either via drugs or suicide.
