I remember these places: Twisters, Exile. I was in Richmond from 1981 to 1986, and again from 1986 to 1994. I left for Minneapolis in 94. After seeing this video, I guess it was a good move out of Richmond then. I know that VCU has altered the landscape very much. I returned for a visit in 2001, and it wasn't much different then from the 90s. I'm due for an updated visit.
Your not missing anything richmond sucks now nothing but dumbass liberals run it all the Confederate monuments are gone, richmond coliseum is shut down, richmond is gone and sold down the river
Ahhhhh good ole twisters. A literal hole in the wall. I mean really you could sneak in through the giant hole in the men's bathroom leading to the alley from at least 2k-02. I wish vcu would just leave they have ruined the future of 929 west grace st. The location is supposed to be a music venue.
I would cruise there weekends. I miss Twisters; saw the Misfits there. Went to VCU there too. Awesome place. So many memories..up on the roof....

No more crime like the 90’s.
Still gritty though.

That's improvement, although we certainly have crime now in Minneapolis and our metro area.
@@wonkeybridges I'm not surprised, much like in our Minneapolis today.
My world from 94 to 97 when I lived on Grace. I can smell the Metro club and Twisters stank
93-97 at Grace and Lombard. good times, simpler times, slower times, cheaper times and healthier times. VCU sure came into its own.
this is awesome. thanks for filming/uploading!

25 fucking years ago - good and cheap to live The Fan back in the day. Didn't think Monument Avenue would be gone so soon.
I remember somebody told me that back in the 90s, he had an apartment that was $400/month in The Fan. Crazy!
I had one that was $315 a month back then.
