Love,

I added an inch to the Naya too and I’m 5’2. I blame my big bust taking up space 😂
Lol, I think I may have a similar problem to you! 😆
Lovely tops Helen. Great video. Thank you 😊
Thank you Bridget 😊❤️
Absolutely love both your tops!
Thank you and thanks for watching 😊❤️
Haya. Hope all is good with you? Lovely video. Your earings are great fun 🤩Loving all your makes & the fabrics you made them in 🤩 I have a little humble on line store, not sure if you knew? ☺The mishap with the pattern, that could be a fun thing, a new top style invention 😀Have a great week, thanku 'sew' much for sharing 🪡✂🧵🙂x
The Donny Shirt and (fabric) throws me right back to the 80's.🎉 ❤ You look beautiful in that fabric.😊
Same here! Love the 80’s that’s what drew me to it and being a double gauze it was a win, win! Thank you for watching 😊❤️
Oh no, your donny shirt. Good job you have a sense of humour.
Great fabrics and makes. The Donny mistake did make me smile 😂 - we have all done similar. On the Naya: I am 5'1" and I found it quite cropped, but acceptable as long as I sew a tiny hem.
Thank you and I can guarantee I will continue to make mistakes while sewing but hopefully not too frequently 😉
Ah yes a tiny hem is a good choice for the short length 👍🏻
My donny shirt came up short as well. I ended up adding a band on the bottom to match the bands on the sleeves. I like it much more. Xx
Good idea to add a band 😊
Thank you for watching 😊❤️
Your Donny shirt looks lovely! 😊
Thank you Maureen ☺️
Thank you for sharing your oopsies. I bought this beautiful directional print and was so excited to use it I cut the first piece upside down. Not enough left to cut another full piece so I had to piece it and could not pattern match. Ugh! I am hoping no one notices. Your husband must pay attention!
Oh I have done that so many times, frustrating but usually we are the only ones that notice 😊 lol my husband may have learnt not to comment on my makes from now on 😉
Ah thanks for the shout out 😊
Love your Donny, did chuckle at your story about the back… that’s definitely something I would do 😂
You’re welcome Becki, thank you again for my lovely extra earrings, I love them ❤️ About the Donny ‘oopsie’ I honestly I make mistakes so often but this one was too funny not share 😆
Two lovely tops and gorgeous earrings too xxx
😘
Lovely video. Love both tops you made.
Thank you and thanks for watching 😊❤️
I love that you share your mistakes. Makes me feel I’m not the only one😅
You are definitely not the only one, if people say they never make mistakes in sewing I don’t trust them 😆
Thanks for watching 😊❤️
Thanks lovely for the mention again, I love that Donny shirt, I’ve got a thing about double guaze at the moment lol it may be my next problem 🤣🤣
You’re welcome, I definitely want to make a few more Donny’s, just love them, and double gauze of course, what’s not to love?!! 😊
Hello Helen, I came back to this video again because I just ordered my first Rainbow Fabrics order, with the Floral Leopard viscose challis the same as you and Ruan.
I had the last 3 metres in my cart but only 1 was left when I went to pay.
I was wondering if I may have any scraps you don't want? I'll ask Ruan too, but not sure if she will get to see my comment.
No hurry, I don't have sewing space yet and won't get to use the fabric for ages. But I love it so much, and not many patterns suit me.
I'd have to pay you to post them to me if that's ok (I am not in the UK).
Sorry it's a bit cheeky to ask, as I have only just started watching you and haven't commented yet.
I have watched a few of your videos, and I like how honest you are in them. Keep going👍
Thanks for your comment, I can’t say I’ll be using my fabric for quite a while but when I do I can’t imagine I’ll have much left from the project I want to make, if I do I’ll let you know 👍🏻
My Nayla shirt as short as yours. To solve this for me I’ve sewn in a band at the bottom, which is a bit narrower so it’s holding in the seam a little bit.
What a great idea! Thanks for watching 😊❤️
🍓🧶🌈💙
I’ve made the Naya. I’m 5’2 and had to add 3 inches to it. 😂
Aha, not just me then, lol 😆 Cropped top lengths seem to be very popular in the sewing world right now🤷♀️
Helen, your hubby is wrong, I did completely fail to see the non matching front pieces, it’s a busy enough print, well, it’s fine. Just fine. In fact, the neckline has 3 dots that were accidental I’m sure, that provide symmetry around your face, so the illusion of matching is there. And the piece on the bottom? That’s why, every time I take apart a pattern piece, I lengthen the fold or grainline to include the piece to be chopped off. Then it’s obvious when it gets turned around. Consider making it part of your fitting process. Or pattern prep process. ❤
What a great tip thank you, I just checked and the Donny pattern piece doesn’t have a grainline marked on it but I will definitely do that for other alterations from now on! Also I told my husband he was wrong and showed him your comment, lol 😆
Thanks for watcjing and for the advice ☺️❤️
Lovely makes as always. So funny about your error on the Donny pattern…….join the club, many will say!
Thanks Marion, I know such a silly mistake but hey Ho that’s sewing for you! Thanks for always watching and supporting me 😊❤️
Doesn’t need to pattern match ❤
I agree! Thank you for saying that and for watching 😊❤️
