I am using worsted-weight yarn and crochet hook size 4 mm. Feel free to adjust your yarn weight and the hook size.

If you check on my video, I mostly use a Tulip Crochet Hook. I have many kind of crochet hooks, but this is the hook that I use the most. If you are a beginner and you only want to buy 1 crochet hook, I recommend you to buy Tulip Etimo Rose Crochet Hook, 5/3mm as a start. From my experience, this hook size suit with yarn weight 1 to 3. I love this stitch, but my working yarn strands get so twisted around each other that I have to stop every few minutes to unwind them before continuing. I wish there was an easy solution for that. Thank you for the tutorial!!

You could put both colors through a bead before you start. The working yarn will slide through the bed and will get less tangled
