Even as a beginner, with you explaining this extremely well and precise, I was able to make it on my first try. Granted it was very wrinkly and uneven, but my second try with proper paper came out perfect.
Yes same for me as well

how the hell
I am on my 8th try

Just finished this...hands down the most detailed origami jet I've been able to finish...thanks Jayson!
I appreciate people who are more for design accuracy than just making it to say you did it. Thanks man. Let the folding begin
Void Anderson I just wanna add a power up 4.0 to it and fly it with my phone
I think my capital ships would work better with that than my fighters.
Jayson Merrill okie thanks
@@jayson5674 are you able to fold South Korea's kf 21
I ended up making a sci fi spaceship and I love it
The thing is I'm only 15 minutes in where I achieved it. I didnt get what I wanted but what I needed, thanks for sharing. I'll probably try to legitimately get this done tommorow or whenever
Done?

What a beautiful design. I'm on my fifth attempt and am getting closer to finishing every time. Thanks for this.
Wish you nothing but the best of luck!

Me an idiot: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
Same here lmao
I didn’t even try cause it’s so hard
haha
I did it the first time being a beginner .-.

im advanced and i cant do it
Had a mental breakdown trying to do this lmao
LOL #relatable
Ok, now try designing something that is geometrically unstable without computer assisted flight stabilization. Ive folded prob 200 revisions of this.
Jayson Merrill
That’s a perfect cycle
@@jayson5674 Good job, I never thought I saw these planes made of paper. I like to make things out of paper, I did it and it came out but I have a question: how do you make the bends look even? because I fold it and go over it but there comes a time when the folds do not match ... I used an A4 sheet but that sometimes happens to me, what type of paper do you use?
A square sheet of 20lb paper or lighter.
Now for anyone that likes this video please share it.
If thats too small just simply try a larger sheet. I dont know what your skill level is so its up to you to figure out what works. If you still cant fold it then stop and try something in your skill range.
@Ayush Gautam he won’t make a missile on it if you don’t have the jayson merril style missile hard points on your jet
I this paper30×15?
I can't remember the last time I enjoyed getting to see a finished model as much as I did when I finished this one... Major kudos, sir, and thanks for the detailed instructions!
the fact that this flies is amazing
Makes me think that my garbage designs can actually fly
Incredible model! Definitely the hardest thing I have ever attempted, and pulled off, took 3 attempts with normal paper and then I made it with foil paper. Looks insane!
I started out really good. I mean really good. My paper was sharp in every corner and straight in every flats. 15 minutes into this darn thing, I don't think my grand parents had more wrinkles combined than my paper.
Yep, after 20 minutes, it becomes more messy than the block design of Killbot.exe from Geometry dash. I put 30-40 attempts into this, and I've been doing origami for years. So, it is tough. Believe it or not, the difficulty of this is used as a standard measurement for planes on this channel. Get 4-5 years of experience, THEN come back to this model.
-Origami Gamer
Origami Gamer I actually got close with only about 2 years, I messed up when my paper ripped and I didn't have that weird multitool thing that he had to do whatever to the paper to bend it no fold these tabs into each other. It was at the point when u use the excess paper to lock the planes nose
I have about 1 year of experience but I managed to make it to 26:00 on my 3rd try, with minimal wrinkles, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t face problems...like everyone’s most painful enemy in origami, *sigh* misalignment.
I’ve had like 2 years lol
yep my skills have definitely improved! I just folded the F-22 and I'm so happy! THX FOR THE VIDEO
Ok
Me too
I haven’t even tried following along, and I can already see it’s better than the Diamondback’s tutorial
I have an Amazon webpage with all my books and a Flickr page. The f22 is a challenging model.

PLEASE READ IT FULLY AND REPLY Hi author,
Can you make a AK-47 from your book "Armed forces Origami"
Because in India for 15 models of your book it's prize is 2,830 rupees which is much costly.
Wow I didn't know they sold my book in India. Anyway I dont have the video rights for those models I cant make any videos on them. I suggest you check out Torself. He has a lot of guns on his UA-cam page.
Jayson Merrill
Toreself has But none like Jason Merrill.
Can you make a PDF file and give it to me in discription box or comment section plz don't break my heart plz give me it
I have bought warigami but armed forces origami is to much costly in India plz
Jayson Merrill
In India there are no origamists because society don't accept them in their earnings
And they don't have enough money to come America and settle their and continue their profession
If you make his guns from the right kind of paper they will look good.
After 5-6 attempts, I finally made it without skipping any step.
còn tôi thì đã thất bại ở phút 20 nhưng đang cố gắng làm lại
Parabéns, fico feliz que você conseguiu sem pular nada
yeah the diamondback was for my reference. ill make a proper tutorial as well as an updated model soon
please make a short tutorial
Wow this thing can look exactly like the real one and fly. I've seen some models that don't look like the same one and don't even fly. Keep up the good work
Jayson gives me the "cool uncle" vibe tbh
He is someone who could have a huge rc jet and we wouldn’t even know because he’s too cool to even mention it
If you think he’s doing quickly “click playback speed to 0.25x

Nice detail of the plane. Didn’t know you could fold this plane out of paper! CRAZY!
What an incredible build I would love to see it flying
I have a video on my channel of it flying.
Just finished! It wasn’t too much trouble. It took 3 attempts before I finally got it, unlike the SR 71. Might have to assess my Stealth Aircraft Origami book for help on that one. Will try advanced one very soon.
This brings the BIGGEST smile to my face!
This is a masterpiece. I memorized every single fold for 2 years now that's how good it is.
Pretty complex and challenging model. I finished mine after almost 4 hours of folding, will definitely do it again tho
🤔 wonder how yours look
Theres a ton of people on youtube and the internet in general that have made it. Only a few have made it correctly though.
@@jayson5674 yeah I figured that. Cause that's definitely hard to make. Take me a while to make it too.
I suggest a sheet of 9 3/4 inch origami paper at first then an 81/2inch square sheet of 20lb printer paper when you perfect the model.
Is there an specific paper just for origami?
If so plz tell me where you bought it.
Yes, there are many papers specifically for origami on the internet from a large variety if sellers. However you really just need printer paper for the f-22

Hello, Jayson excellent aircraft with amazing details, after one try I was able to fold it. I am a complex origami pioneer who's adventuring for advanced origami. Jayson , this is incredible. I appreciate your patience and the amount of detailing you have captured.
I've been folding mainly fighter jets for quite some time now, the F-22 has always been my favorite, and this one is by far the most detailed, most gorgeous, and dude it flies... Phenomenal, Jayson. Definitely going to have to pick up a copy of your book when it drops this month.
Dude I need a book too hopefully I can get it on amazon.
@@riceisgood1825 of course you can
F 22 is also my favorite!
Awesome work! Would really love to see a Boeing 747! ♡
Would be quite a bit of bending the fuselage for that model
I folded this beauty and put it into a display box on a wall in my cabinet. It turned out pretty good. I was using Kraft paper of 50x50 centimeters. Thank you for this tutorial and all your hard work! This model is truly amazing.
Bro this is awesome f-22 plane and I showed it to my son and he did well by him self
I like the F-22 Raptor jet nice jet fantastic. Because it's American.
Would you please be able to do another walkthrough of this plane? UA-cams quality compression downgrades some of the most important parts. If so, something that would help a ton is having or finding a sheet of paper with 2 different colors that are opposite from each other(red on one side, blue on the other). Thanks!
I will be purchasing a copy of your book through amazon on my next paycheck. This will be the next origami i will learn and remember. Thank you once again!
*Edit* - Just noticed that the quality of the video is maxed out at 720p. Would you be able to re-upload in 1080p or higher?
Even tho i understand u, i had the same trouble. But i got better doing this thing a few more times so like jayson said, this model is not for beginners
Its been 4 years and with enough practice i made this today perfectly, this is a great achievement for me. Thanks for sharing this vid Jayson!
How is this possible? How does it fly? The real one flies only with the help of a computer right? Then how?
There are scientists that ask those same questions. I might attract some unwanted attention one of these days.

love your origami aircraft book, I've mastered almost every model from it. This is an incredible model and a welcome challenge!
That is crazy, congrats to you!
I was bored and thought I'd make a half-serious attempt at this with a 5 7/8" origami paper but it actually worked out fine haha. That's my 4th one, haven't had a failure yet. Thanks again for the tutorial.
I have attempted this 5 times so far and all of them failed on the left hand stabilizer.
edit: The 6th attempt finally worked
Each time you started speaking I was scared which ungodly fold would come next, but with your detailed explanations I was able to do most of them with relative ease even tough I struggled with the same folds in other tutorials.
Eyy it's finally out! This is amazing!
Yes exellent. Put your fingers up from what you're doing
I want to buy more paper, because although somemodel is very challenging, or just not super complex(but still is complex) the process is very interesting. It refers to your F22, su57, A10 attack aircraft, mirage, vanguard, interstellar attack aircraft carrier.f16 Of course, there maybe have more in the future. My friend also said that. they have very good comments on your raptors, and I plan to fold Raptors and some jet frequently

I can’t believe I made this, it’s the most complex origami model I have ever made in my 7 years of origami, in my next version of making this I need to exaggerate some features like the front nose bc the lock on the front of the plane keeps coming out
pro tip: after locking the plane try not to rip the corners on the engines as i had...
Haven't attempted to make some of your work but I already subscribed.
Just finished this model after a long halt at making origami, and it was a bit challenging to be honest. Easily the most complex paper plane I made to date and one of the best looking ones out there.
I won't even bother making it fly because of how beautiful it looks.
You're missing out. It flies very well. Stay tuned I'm finishing up on the sr 71

Thanks Merrill it turned out very good except for airintigs
omg i made it!
Wow! Unbelievable. I have attempted it numerous times and every time the paper I use can't withstand the punishment. I keep trying and each time I get a little bit further as well as learning to do it from memory. I have a feeling when I finally complete it I will know it by heart. A true tutorial.

My brother got me your book for Christmas. Thank god for this tutorial, I’m terrible at following the instructions on paper haha!
What they mean by unstable is simply that the balance point is to far rearward , so it can pitch up or down quicker, scaled down RC flying models of it fly normally when its balance point is normally placed, paper airplanes will also be unstable and pitch up wildly and stall if the balance point is too far rearward, the other requirement to glide is enough wing area to weight.
Youre preaching to the choir.
@@jayson5674 best illustrated by that wild pitching up and down of the test flight when its ass smacks the ground, the software trying to keep it level in flight as it left the ground, over correcting creating an increasing up down pitch oscillation. its in the math of solving control system polynomial for the roots and the instability factor of the mathematical model representation of the physical system. Hey i need to apply my education somehow after spending so much getting an engineering degree ? lol
It's just amazing, I've finished it now, and it's one of the best origami I've ever done in my life. The only problem is that I don't understand why I came up with a zebra🤔🤔
