Thank you. This was a helpful video and it worked. The methodical approach was appreciated. The only thing that could improve the presentation would be bookmarks in the scrubber / video progress bar that mark key steps in the process. Here's some considerations for other first timers like me:
    1. The two trickiest parts are: removing the back cover, and removing the battery.
    2. Take care particularly around back cover corners. Dont pry, bend or twist the back over off in your haste. Gently "stab" the adhesive with your implement. You will feel the adhesive releasing. Maintain your plane along a single axis parallel with the phone. Gentle, reciprocal stabbing movements as the adhesive softens. If you get excited and try to lever/pry the cover off too early, you'll crack the very fragile back cover like I did.
3.I used about 6 guitar picks of varying thickness to remove the back cover instead of a playing card. These worked well.
    4. I used a lego block breaker to break the seal initially, then slid in a guitar pick to hold the gap open. I did this as I worked around the back cover. Alcohol helped a lot to loosen the adhesive.
    5. I didn't use a heat pad. I used a microwaved plate, girlfriend's hairdryer and a meat thermometer. This wasn't ideal.
    6. The charge port board IS adhered. It doesn't necessarily come off with the motherboard. My connection came undone and it was a bit annoying to reconnect again. Be gentle removing the motherboard.
    7. You absolutely need the alcohol and a fine enough applicator to access the very small tolerances. Especially when removing the battery. You will dent and damage the soft battery trying to pry it out if you don't loosen up the adhesive first.
    8. I used the metal belt clip off the back of a measuring tape instead of the special bendy metal tool shown in the video. The metal belt clip was actually rounded perfectly for this task. I initially tried using one side of some tweezers but could see that I was going to dent/damage the battery by prying this way. You need a tool that spreads the force gently and doesn't concentrate it at a point.

I have a question. I have two S9s. Where’s the internal harddrive? If I have to tear both phones down and just plug the screen into the other broken phone just to get it to transfer to my laptop I’ll do that or easier to swap internal harddrive? If just going to hook my other screen to it is there a quick way without unplugging everything? Thanks, sorry for rambling

Have you ever worked on a One + phone?.
The adhesive you use was a cool touch. I've seen only people reusing the same one.

Very good disassembly, but ip68 go away, because you don't glue all the edges...

The best video I've been able to find for this. Thank you!
Does anyone know if these same steps and parts would apply to an S9+ though? Many thanks in advance!

Pretty much same exxact phone other than size of RAM and processor, etc... Maybe a few parts might be different but its 99% the same

You messed up the adhesive cause you were to busy talking. Directions come in sentences on a pamphlet not a 400 phone book.

If you want a good seal for back another great adhesive is the cold press glue found on mobilesentrix
