The Coupe was one of their better looking 70's body styles.

I liked the triangular quarter windows on 1977-78 vs the rectangular quarter windows on the '79.

This, ironically enough, became the basis for all big Chrysler cars starting in 1982!

My family, when I was very young back in the late 70s-early 80s, had one of the M-body cars, a 1978 LeBaron Town & Country wagon. Although the LeBaron was available in 1977 in 2- and 4-door body styles, the LeBaron T&C wagon did not come out until 1978.

The LeBaron in this MTSC is a non-A.C. car. Look at the heater control @1.18.

Even the smallest Chrysler in living memory looked like a very imposing model at the time!

The comment about transverse torsion bars offering ride and handling approaching that of full size cars should have said full size Ford and GM cars. Giving up his own version of ride and handling and chasing the GM and Ford float was a terrible mistake.

The lean burn was a good idea and ahead of it's time. But it was one of the faults that eventually caused Chrysler to go bankrupt in 1980. Very glad Lee Iacocca saved Chrysler by not being to proud to ask Jimmy Carter for a loan. President Reagan was smart enough not to cancel the loan.Later, Chrysler merged with Mercedes Benz and engineered some of the best American cars of the 1990's. One of their mistakes was to much leather interior. Clothe and Nauga-hyde would have kept the cost lower and they could have sold more 300m , more LHS , more Intrepids and more Sebrings. Four of the best engineered cars ever !

Chrysler never actually filed bankruptcy in 1980, though.
All of Chrysler's 1990 LH, Neon, and Cloud cars were all Chrysler, all the way. Daimler influence didn't show up until the LX cars and later products which are widely disparaged in the industry is being some of the cheapest and nastiest feeling ever.
I appreciate your spirit but your facts are very wrong so therefore they cannot be facts.
