As someone who lives in Canada, I wasn't able to play any of the GT Concept games growing up. They have always intrigued me though. It was definitely a cool idea for introducing upcoming cars and stuff like that. Ibalso love seeing GT3's game engine getting full show in these! 😊👍
If you ever get a copy of the game, the assists will hinder you when setting your best lap times for the licences. Really want to try this on an emulator.
This was the first Gran Turismo game i've been played for a long time, i didn't complete the game to unlock the Toyota Pod sadly but it was fun game actually
Gran Turismo Concept 2002 was the first Gran Turismo i finished, honestly i didnt knew about its existence mostly because most of the videos I watched about the series, Concept never appeared on the list, i still play It today sometimes because its so fun even its simple compared to most GTs, and by far the thing i like most in the game is the Language select: *there's portuguese, why the hell there's no Portuguese language option in Gran Turismo 3 but there's in Concept* Also, i played the whole game in Black and White for the first time because of a problem the game had,a while later i fixed that problem and i saw how colorful and beatiful this game was for a Playstation 2 game
Close by the end I was thinking "there is absolutely no way in HELL he's gonna close the game without having driven the Pod ONCE." Glad I was wrong. It's a rite of passage for GT fans at this point. If you don't have a copy then an alternative would be playing the coffee breaks in GT4.
i have this game, actually i have 2 boxes, the first one i got was left with no game, i was bummed, then a few years later and i got the game at a flea market with its disc, it was really a unique game, which was great for a gran turismo game
Now I really wanna play it on my PS2 but I can't plug it in to a display anymore because I don't have anything that works and that accepts component!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hey just a quick note: Since this is Japan only, it follows Japanese GT3 credits which in turn were based off JPY instead of USD. You'd start that game with like 1.5 million credits and cars would also cost a lot more. In fact, you cannot start with the PT Cruiser in the Japanese version of GT3 since it costs 1.7 million credits. So yeah 10 million isn't as crazy as you think, but still nice.
That does make sense. I know in GT3 you get 18,000 credits in the NTSC version. So 1.5 mil JPY is around 15,000 USD. So he won 100,000 credits in USD if I'm not mistaken.
this is completely wrong i have the game on original ps2 hardware (everything is PAL), i transferred the 10 mil and it was an actual 10 million in the game, so no, there's no tricks, it's an actual 10 million and it is as crazy as you think. it also unlocks all licenses (done on bronze though)
@@Maximus20778 it works by going into the bonus menu on GT Concept, selecting the gift box that has the 10,000,000cr for GT3, then selecting the memory card with the GT3 save on it.
GTC has a few hidden tracks like Hong Kong Circuit, which is a finished track. AI Strings and all the Lighting actually work, if you can access the track. Plus, GTC has the only blue Pagani Zonda in the whole GT Franchise
This is SO STRANGE, this was my first GT game I played it non-stop as a kid. Little did I know at the time years later I would become a huge petrol head... suppose that was my beginning and foray into the world of cars!

What's even more interesting is that you can port the GT Concept (and GT4 Prologue, at least the Japanese version's) cars into GT3 and they work almost fine (they work properly in Arcade Mode but don't have menu icons and don't seem to move in Simulation Mode; any cars with active aero such as the Crossfire will not have their active aero animated as well).
This Gran Turismo is both awesome and cursed. Awesome, because i played it and i enjoyed every second of it even with cars i couldn't unlock in the "normal" games. And cursed...well you all know why, i don't need and didn't want to say it.
This was my first GT game actually. I was to Young and to shitty in racers back when my brother got GT2 and GT3 xD i always watched my brother drive the pagani in GT3, but in this GT i finally got the chance to try it, even with an blue colourpaint, which is my fav colour. Instantly Fell in love with the car, i even dedicated my gamertag to the car when i tried competitive fighters xD
yesterday I found a copy of it with the game in it and i when i bought it i got it for 2.50 bucks the game is fun but its weird do i recommend it? yes i do

I believe it also completes all of GT3's license tests (for bronze medals) and unlocks all the licenses for you, so that you can do all of the game's events without having to do the license tests yourself.
It's interesting I've played Gran Turismo 1-5 and I didn't know this existed. It does make sense though because as far as I can tell all of these cars I saw in the video made it into Gran Turismo 4
Saw a used copy of this game for the first time since last weekend while my PS3 console was fixing up and grab a disc to look at it then there was a few scratches that makes me so sad alongside a used Gran Turismo 4 Greatest Hits 😢 and the price is so rare also just touch the REAL PS2 game case it was HUGE than PS3 blu ray case

The thing I really liked about GT Concept was the ability to get 10,000,000cr in GT3 if you completed it.
