Thats so sad the younger generation need to stand up even if your not native keep it alive us maori went through a similar event but not on this scale, at one point it was band in schools and the younger ones had to learn english thats Colonization for you. All the best in teaching your young ones or older ones Aroha Nui from Aotearoa the land of the long white cloud.

Please do and If you offer online classes i'd love to learn the language. Im originally from Brazil, I have indigenous ancestry in my genes and I've been intensively studying about our ancestors. Specifically from South America and North America.

Let me know what your tribe needs from non-natives to support the continued transmission, whether awareness, advocacy, money/resources, etc. I am non-native (white) living two hours away in Des Moines and feel very called to support your tribe specifically. Can’t explain it fully, but I feel CALLED to humbly be of service. Your voices need to be heard.

Same goes for my tribe. But there are no fluent speakers and more than 20 people trying to learn. There are phrases and words that are forever gone becuase our dialect is so isolated. And I cant help but feel frustrated when Mexicans come over and schools feel the need to have kids learn and sing in Spanish when native Americans where literally tortured and killed for speaking our own tongue. And some tribes are so small and poor theres not a lot of resorces to keep people involved. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FIRAT NATIONS LANGUAGES VISIT Firstvoices.com

@@jasoncano527 from Brazil, Siberia Mongolia Papua new Guinea all these places are going through the same thing too. Deforestation, or being constricted and pushed off lands from thier governments or have already been nearly destroyed like Mexicans, natives, first nations Canada. I didnt mean anything racist by it. I feel its biased by the us government and ass backwards.
