Casting trivia - Miranda, the woman Douglas sleeps with, is played by Dolly Wells. She also played Paula, the woman Roy was set up with whose face was covered in bandages in the dinner party episode.
I think this is my 2nd favorite episode, behind Work Outing. M: "Kind of like a Dungeons and Dragons thing." J: "Is that something to do with sex?" M: "Far from it, Jen!" Always gets a laugh (disclaimer: I've been playing D&D since 1981 ;) )
"I can't read when I'm also trying to see things!" This is possibly my favourite episode. The way all three plot lines work together without feeling rushed or overstuffed is a master episode of comedy. So many great lines that I still quote to this day.
It’s nice to see you enjoying this so much. Which begs the question why US TV feel it is almost always necessary to rewrite our shows for an American audience and then totally ruin it. In the UK, over the years, we have had Friends, Big Bang, Cheers, etc and loved them. They didn’t need to be redone for a British audience.
I started watching you two because you both remind me of two old friends from my old gaming group. We met on Saturday nights for nearly three years before I moved away for work. My friends Jen and John were total strangers the night of our first game, Jen was excited and John was so unimpressed at the idea... it took him about three hours and five beers before he was excitedly gesturing with a slice of pizza and yelling for everyone to "run away while you can!!". I honestly think you two should give it a shot. It's lots of fun.
The next episode of season 4 is my all time favourite IT crowd episode. KB and QB, you're gonna love it. All I'll say is "good morning that's a nice TNETENNBA". really enjoyable reactions by the way.
This is the one where Queen boomer falls in love with Moss, and KB has to go to nerd school to keep up. I love how this showed a different side to Moss, one that no-one really expected. He even inserted a comedy element back in with the music hiccup, and the gravity of the moment was still strong - that's genius..
The head of the feminist committee, Miranda, is played by Dolly Wells who previously played Jen's friend Paula (the one with injuries from a car crash) in the Dinner Party episode of IT Crowd in series 2. She also played another character called Paula who was Toni's sister in 2 episodes of Peep Show.
If you want to see more Matt Berry being Matt Berry, look up the series (it's only six episodes) "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace". And of course, there's "What We Do In The Shadows" (American TV Series).
@@johnritter6864 I'd watch Toast of London being reacted to. I saw one episode and didn't hate it. He released that silly 60's style single based on the Toast character which is surprisingly close to all Matt Berry's characters (if not identical). There's still mileage in it. He would ft in well with the Jam cast. Honestly though, Jam is way too dark for YT.
If your reading this, Boomers, Jam is half comedy, half surrealist horror. That's not an exaggeration, it's not suitable for all ages. But Nathan Barley is a series you might enjoy.
This episode for me is the best example of Moss being a total friend. For more Moss goodness, watch Richard Ayoade in Travel Man. You'll see that he's not that much different from Moss. For more Matt Barry goodness, watch the TV show What we do in the Shadows.
Liking the Maryland flag shirt! This episode is a favorite of mine, and it really is sweet how Moss helps Roy find closure. D&D (or Pathfinder or other similar role-playing games) are whatever you make of them. You can lean full into storytelling or go heavy on complex rules and battles, or anything in between.
cannot express how much I love your reactions guys! I don't usually comment, but cannot understate how much I love when the notifcation come through you uploaded. IT crowd and inmbetweeners are my faves from my country
You two really are absolutely amazing. I enjoy this show and all the others so much more than when I last saw them - at least a decade ago with most of them; even longer with others! - through your fresh, utterly unique "lens". So brilliant. So much fun. You must have some idea about how and why you are so good at this, Shirley.
I just came back from a weekend getting drunk and playing DnD with my friends, it's always a ton of fun! all you need are some friends with a little creativity and imagination, some basic knowledge of how the game works, pen and paper and time. highly recommended!
I played D&D with some friends online for the first time a few years ago its pretty fun if you get people really into the acting and a dungeon master who has come up with a good set up. Theres quite a bit involved in the setup and game if everyone involved is new including the dungeon master it'd be quite a learning process at first I played with a dungeon master who was experienced and knew what they were doing which made it easier to learn
That was the best intro song singalong yet! And yes pen&paper role playing games are super fun - been playing them for about 20 years now. Looking forward to next weekend 🎲⚔
That DnD scene is my favourite in the show (after the Work Outing of course!)😂 If you want to play D&D just be aware that it can take hoouurs. Get people to prepare their characters so they're ready on the day and either make your own story or find someone else's online. You need someone to get a bit familiar with the rules too so that the whole game isn't one person reading a huge rulebook while everyone waits. I've only tried it once and we didn't get past the first little combat encounter - it's messy! That type of game can go really well, I'm sure, but you need someone to properly take charge and know how to move it on quickly! 😄
Love watching your reactions :) I'm in the UK and watched these when they came on our TV stations over here. I would really like to watch you guys react to a TV show called 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace' it's got Richard Ayoade (Moss) Matt Berry (Douglas Reynholm) Noel Fielding (Richmond) plus a whole host more faces you will recognise from IT Crowd and other UK shows. Also, would love to see you react to 'The Mighty Boosh' as again has Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade & Noel Fielding in as well as others. Pretty please! you will love them! :) they have our British sense of humour in them :)
Love Ayoade, I don't remember much about that film other than thinking Richard Ayoade looked very out of place. As I recall Richard said that his wife said to him, he looked like he won a raffle prize to be in the film.
How people generally perceive it: "Edgy teens playing a forbidden board game" How it is: "No, Paul... You can't sneak stealthily out of the King's chambers because you're currently balls deep in his wife."
If you want to be _extra_ American, say you're _super_ excited. Stars and stripes will shoot out your nose and bald eagles will fly out of... somewhere else. (The "seemples" reference: have you two heard of the 'Compare The Meerkat' adverts yet? They're _still going.)_
If you get a chance you should react to taskmaster. This is where comedians/comedic actors do certain random tasks to please the taskmaster played by Greg Davies. The show has its own UA-cam channel and full episodes up to series 12 are available
I only really played some vampire roleplay, but it was awesome and i still talk about some of the antics i got up to as a character with lockpick skills and the power of damaging illusions
im gutted you didnt react to IT crowd season 3 episode 5. thats my fave episode :( .. great reactions from you guys. This was my fave show back in 2009/2010 because it was different and original. Im from the UK btw.
The sooner you introduce cereal into baby's diet (start with watered down) the baby will sleep longer. Momma milk is great, but doesn't keep baby's tummy full for long. 👌👌👌
Callie means immerse herself in the game, not submerge this has a drowning risk associated with it, a role playing game shouldn’t involve drowning unless it’s a murder mystery with added deception!✌️❤️🇬🇧
Casting trivia - Miranda, the woman Douglas sleeps with, is played by Dolly Wells. She also played Paula, the woman Roy was set up with whose face was covered in bandages in the dinner party episode.
Swear she was the one in peep show season 1 that Jeremy thought had cancer ?
@@FikuKromoUzuFajrovulpon I can't think what you mean offhand (I've not seen the show for a while!) but I'm sure I'll spot it when we get there!
@@kallumnffc452she was indeed
She also played Van Helsing in the BBC version of Dracula
She was also Tony's sister in peep show, the one Jeremy mistakenly thought had cancer and was wearing that hat.
The close-ups on Roy really show his brilliant acting ability in this episode.
I think this is my 2nd favorite episode, behind Work Outing.
M: "Kind of like a Dungeons and Dragons thing."

M: "Far from it, Jen!"

Superb. As a Call of Cuthulu keeper I’m happy I was represented as well!
I’m 20 years married due to DnD! So it’s not always the case!
i'm petitioning for y'all to do a drunk DnD campaign 🤣
We have too much respect for Queen Boomer to call her Sugar...
Word.
I once called my gf sugarc**t as a joke, but she liked it and wanted me to use it more. I thought that was weird.
Both of you, get a RPG set up, hire a babysitter, get drunk, and live stream the whole thing. Epic. Legendary.
Excited !
My thoughts exactly! 😂😂
Live stream it!! 😂 It would be chaos! I'm in.
Queen Boomer's character will be Sugartits.
I approve of every part of this except the drunk part. Watching drunk people play d&d is almost unbearable.
"I can't read when I'm also trying to see things!"
This is possibly my favourite episode. The way all three plot lines work together without feeling rushed or overstuffed is a master episode of comedy. So many great lines that I still quote to this day.
Oh my god yes, D&D is so much fun and QB will love it!

Always get caught out by chris and Richard in this episode, the acting was spot on for the goodbye scene.
"....oh, women. Can't live with them...CAN'T FIND THEM!!!" HILARIOUS STILL!!!!
Countdown episode is next. My favourite! Benedict Wong is amazing
The Queen ate up this episode with the D&D impressions. Never played, but now I kinda want to, brava!
The role play section of this episode is pure cinema. It is so hilarious and genuinely emotional at the same time!

The "its like someone broke up with Stalin" bit always gets me.
It's so random and funny that two of the are called John.

One of the best episodes this 😅😅😅😅
Your daughter is going to have an impeccable taste in comedy.
Another great reaction! Would love for a reaction to Chris O Dowd (actors name who plays Roy) on the Last Leg show. It's hilarious
Richard Ayoade is funny in movie "THE WATCH" with Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I’ve watched that movie

Weird Matt Berry (Douglas) fact, he actually writes Music intended to be played in Libraries
Yeah she's right have a few drinks and it can be fun... Not played any RPG's in a very long time but have some fun memories of messing about.
i saw this on telly at the time and cried 😂😂😂😂
BEST username. YES! I HEAR YOU, CLEM FANDANGO!

Have you watched any of Upstart Crow? It has David Mitchell and Mark Heap (Friday Night Dinner) in it and I think you would enjoy it.
As somebody who plays/runs D&D games, this is a classic reflection of how the game is perceived compared to what it's actually like...
How people generally perceive it: "Edgy teens playing a forbidden board game"
How it is: "No, Paul... You can't sneak stealthily out of the King's chambers because you're currently balls deep in his wife."
Is it something to do with sex - Ha far from it.

King: “I don’t know of this game is real.”

Me: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa
You can look up D&D one shots, where you can go through a full story in roughly 2-4 hours. Lots of fun!
That Batman impression 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 😂😂😂
I love the IT Crowd; but the next episode, episode 2 of season 4, is by far my favourite episode.

i love yr reactions..but i love the love u have for each other more..sooo sweeet

I heard that alien conversation in a show called Mr Inbetween
