Murder charges average 15 years to life depending on state/situation etc.. 2018 the average years sentenced to life was 17 years. So, homicides still pretty much get the same sentencing. Another reason they would most likely not want to be caught on camera has to do with retaliation. If you kill someone and they have a crew then that crew is most likely coming after you.

It’s according to the police commissioner as well. The DA is actually prosecuting criminals and the commissioner has increased police activity in violent districts and the city still reports its crime statistics unlike some other places. It’s safe to say Philly took a good turn around.

As someone who is retired from law enforcement, I can tell you a big problem when recovering ballistic evidence from these types of crime scenes. It is nearly impossible to distinguish the spent casings and bullets from the actual shooting, as opposed to the ones that are are in the vicinity from previous discharges.
Does it really even matter unless you identify the shooter though cameras, eyewitnesses, or other physical evidence and then catch him with the gun that matches the casings?

Spent shell casings can sometimes have a fingerprint on them and if ballistic evidence links the gun to another shooting(s), the investigators can link information and are more likely to narrow down their field of interest. Ballistic information is placed into IBIS and matches will show up. What, if any law enforcement experience do you have? Extraneous ballistic evidence from prior discharges, on the other hand, can send investigators down the wrong path.
@@philjerome9795 I have experience being on the other side of law enforcement, which has shown me some of the absolute worst humanity, and I use that term loosely, has to offer. I really don't want to think and feel this way about law enforcement, but I don't think it's possible not to. This really sucks.

@@philjerome9795 If the problem was that there were just a few bad apples, and agencies were actively rooting them out, holding them accountable, and protecting the public from them, then I wouldn't see it as an issue. I really don't want to hate cops, it's not a comfortable way to live for me, and I don't think it's a comfortable way to live for a lot of them either. I grew up in a really small town with a close knit community where people didn't have to lock their doors at night. There were a lot of sheriff's deputies who lived there. I grew up playing with their kids, spending the night at their houses, and dating their daughters. They were all really good people. Some of them worked in the county jail, where I've been a few times. I'm not a felon, but that doesn't mean that I've never been to jail. Not once did I ever see them violate anyone's rights, nor did I hear about them violating anyone's rights. That's actually a really good agency though. Probably the best run that I've ever seen. They actually do hold their own accountable. A couple years ago they hit one of their own with felony charges, and he was only a couple years away from retirement, so it's not like he was a rookie with no real connections. It was people that he had been friends with for decades who investigated and charged him. They also canned the Sheriff a couple years ago, and he had spent his career working for that agency. That's not the case for other agencies though. In some agencies, all of the apples are rotten.

I think it just means refers to the style used for the killings. Some shots are done from hundreds of feet away but execution style is just right up next to the victims so there’s no way you can miss. You might miss shooting feet away from a car or at a house but standing over a man and firing shots showed they made sure their shots all struck him
