You did fine putting it on the trailer. Took it nice and steady - apart from that one snaffoo where you gassed it. When you split throttles, the bow swings to side with reverse thrust. IE - to turn left put Port in reverse and Starboard in forward. To turn right put Port in forward and Starboard in reverse. When you're practicing split throttles, start by doing everything in idle revs till confident -then you can add a little (not more than 1000 rpm) throttle to one engine at a time. You don't always need to put both motors in gear at once. You can bump em in and out of gear, just pause in neutral when transitioning from forward to reverse and visa versa. Everybody mucks up splitting throttles once in a while. Once you get good enough at it, you'll feel what the vessel is doing and correct the split before anyone else notices or any harm is done. If you're going slow enough, you have plenty of time correct any snaffoo before it becomes an issue. Finally - discourage people from helping by pushing big boats around. You can get away with it with little boats. Big boats are heavy, and they have lots of hp to do the moving. Understand the dudes on the ramp helping (and it was probably necessary if you were struggling), but with a bit of practice you won't need that sort of help often. Great boat
Hey fella, you need to fit Teflon V‘s in between the side rollers and the kill rollers elevated on from the outside tapered towards the centre rollers so when you go in that groove, it will push it to the centre
Hi Mate, make sure you keep the cover on the Raymarine Element SD card covered up extremely well, they can leak even when you think they're sealed. If moisture gets into the slot it can kill the whole system. If you remove the SD card you can see moisture and or corrosion on the card. Enjoy the boat!
Dad use to send the Bertram up the trailer wirh constant momentum, Steady power at the end to creep it on. That brought good memories seeing that ❤ what a wonderful boat. Love the out boards on it.
Holy shit mate scared 😖the F-- out of poor knighty I am sure he had to change his underwear 😂😂😂 maybe give your knowledgeable 5 year old the wheel next time 😂😂 did love the families oozing confidence in your ability to put that boat back on its trailer 😂😂absolute classic family support 😂😂 and yes the boat went beautifully on the water nice one mate ,sorry to take the piss out of you but then again not every day we can 😂 and that’s what happens when you put yourself out there without editing 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Do love ya mate👍👍👍 Cheers Wimbat🐾🤗🍻🍻
Hey mate, a wise man told me how to do this a few years ago. Get the bow in to the rollers light throttle then steer it straight on the trailer left or right. Once straight to the car turn the outboards straight then light throttle up on the trailer. Very intimidating with a big boat like that but every time is easier lol.
Great boat, looking forward to some great adventures with you on this one. Didn't like the ramp/water level for loading a boat that size but one thing is for sure, that spare wheel has to find a new home. and an electric winch would be awesome.
My Dad had the exact same boat but with an inboard motor. He hit bottom once at the coast guard ramp trying to put it on the trailer. It’s a prick of a thing to land. Enjoy Skid, they are a great boat🥃🍸🍺🍹
first boat launch and test is always great with young ones and always fun until its time to put the boat on the trailer... i dread this everytime expecially when its windy.
Congrats on the new pigs maiden voyage Skid. She's a beauty and a handful loading although i thought Knighty didnt back the trailer all the way in as the Ram still had atleast 2 ft of ramp to the water line and i most definitely would get guide posts put on your trailer to also help guide it in straight. Looking forward to some big overnight runs with boys in this big ole bath tub. Congratulations Skid 🤙🤙
Get a length of PVC pipe, 25 or 32mm or similar should do it and fix it to the upright bracket/arm that supports the winch/spare tyre etc... Then get up on the fly bridge and cut it to a length where you can see it and doesn't get snapped of by the marlin board. That is the centre and that's what you aim the bow at.
Well done mate on your first attempt trailering that big girl. It is not as easy as some people think! I have trouble with wind and tide with a 5 metre tinny so a big thumbs up to you 👍. Practice makes perfect 😉
I don't know what the best part was, the guy doing the splits trying to push the stern away from the pontoon, everyone with no idea yelling out instructions or Knighty having the winch handle on 😂😂
Should be able to modify trailer with nylon slides and it should self centre itself. Mates trailer had it and he could drive his boat on almost a 45 degrees sideways and still self centre
Mates got a similar size boat and he runs an electric winch with cordless remote gets it back onto trailer by himself no worries… can’t wait to see the trips this beast will open up for yas… who needs Willy weather just get a bigger boat haha
Skid, loved it, are u tempted to put it on a mooring? Looks hard work, but classic when the missus give you a serv about putting the boat on the ram to take it home.
Fella, forget about gutting the interior like my photos, your missus and your daughters will kill you. Got us all excited when our turn comes, jeez those motors were quiet, um’ when trolling, not trailering. Well done, it’s the Perfect family boat.- we fitted a L&R, it removes a person on a slippery ramp. Safer and automatic. Steep learning curve my friend. Enjoy
Nice one pig she's a rig that Berty and ya did good first crack at it iv seen people try drive boats on way smaller and no idea and carnage proper circus shows so ya did good youl only get better and better with more seat time at the helm 🤙🤙🍻
Put the trailer in the middle of the ramp next time too mate, I find with my old boys boat the further away from the pontoon you are the easier it is to line up without worrying about hitting shit.
It’s all fun and games until you’ve gotta get it back on the trailer 😂 I reckon if the trailer was closer to the dock it would have been easier for someone to push it slightly to help centre it 👍🏼
put 2 vertical lengths of polli pipe at the back of the trailer for guides .. don't listen to your guide the rollers will straighten her up send it skid yew
The more you go out the easier it gets we all started the same anyone being a dick probably hasn’t loaded a boat that big on a trailer, Good going mate time in the water is key builds the confidence.
you reckon noddie like that no he ,I thought he likes fishing back down on ya spose he's on first trip😜 LoL yeah back to it again nice rigs hey they huge motors you got your seat hang in There everyone &you beeard get shaping and blow dried the beer splash &dusting, hey me mates got one it's nice join everyone gets hava chat got inboard merc all intakes full rebuild every nut and bolt through out as he is as ya love it A1 up to date specialised in boats parts fishing gear tackle chippy tradesman house builder Start to finish and legend Barra serveyd and cocson , Barra Slayer he gotta keep up with me , good blokes deserve burtrams and enjoy comfort see ya in the deep blue👍then 54ft o'Brian retirement equiddie rolls in from the horizon in a flash,no just beers no coke , hey rum no good bad for ya brain 🍻👍 fill it up ,or shit did you pay love haha
Love the new boat.... females know everything about nothing and nothing about everything. I'd get rid of the big wheel and use a smaller steering wheel with a speed knob on it for quicker response time for the motors.👍👍👍🐰
@ nah mate you got a good asset there, fair be it that the maintenance cost are a little high. Clear that debt ASAP or then interest rates will make you negative brotha!

Thanks for having me on the maiden trip mate.
Keen to chase a few blacks on her.

Thanks for sharing that it’s not always easy to trailer a boat, it’s all about learning and giving it a go ❤
It really is!
Looks great mate. Thanks for the laugh. I’m as jealous as hell

Yeah it's a bit of a pain loading her up, but she's worth it!

Well done , I’ve never even trailered a monster like that let alone put the bastard on a trailer at a public boat ramp, top job 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Congrats on the new boat
Thanks mate

You will find it a lot better to control if you have the motors trim down as it will allow you to use the motors more efficiently
Done well for first go mate
Awesome boat skid many great adventures to come 🍻🍻
Oh yeah!
Love your new boat brother 🎉
Us too!
As 1 guy said thanks for being honest don't worry you'll get , the hang of it mate cheers n beers Marty Qld

The more you go out the easier it gets we all started the same anyone being a dick probably hasn’t loaded a boat that big on a trailer, Good going mate time in the water is key builds the confidence.
And more speed
How do you go about towing over 2.9m width with a light vehicle?
Mermaids are gonna have a field day...
I tow it with a ram, it's fine
What brand of boat is that?
Bertram 26
Had to go back to get the bait, there goes 50 liters. How far you getting with 300 in this beast champ?
