Over 5k subs , flying now. Hope it snowballs for you as I like it when you go into detail as to why you’re doing certain things and the rational behind it. It would be cool to see the different bites caught on camera close up a coalie rattle vs a cod thud im guessing it’s difficult to do hence why ive not seen the sea fishing lads do it on UA-cam yet.
Ano great watch mate. I need to try open my boundaries further north instead of staying round South Shields. Time to hit google earth. Tight lines mate 🎣
Great video buddy, although I was watching it whilst I was putting circles and dongles on to some of my rigs. After your comment I think I might change them back again 😂
Another great video David mate. Your right about the black rocks, so slippery even when dry. Fished down from the house 3 weeks ago and finished on my arse 2 or 3 times.
Another great video Dave, that's my area of choice at the moment, it's fishing better on the ebb than the flood, the better fish are slowly filtering in, I was using dongles but kept missing fish now changed back to 4/0 Oshaughnessy and never missed a fish, keep it up Mate, Tight Lines.
Another great video David mate. Its lovely ground along there. Few year back I fished from cullernose right down to doctors house in all the little bits I could. Wunder why the fins are been targeted by parasites 🧐

Nice one david well done matey hopefully the beta stamp of fish come through next week with those big seas 🤞🏻can a just ask where ya get ya small flasks from ideal them 👌🏻 anyways enjoy the rest of your wk end 👍🏻🎣
Top notch footage as usual david 👌🏻 well done on plenty of action for the first part of the session while there was plenty tide movement .. really enjoyed the vid .. appreciate your efforts doing these .. must be very time taking , ive not fished howick for years .. is there plenty places for parking ? I cant remember for the life of me but remember i was chucking lures for bass .. must be 25 year ago , im guessing i parked on the grass along the roadside .. any info would be appreciated thanks bud .. tight lines 🎣
@@Markw13 cheers Mark really appreciate that mate 🙏 yeah there’s a couple of places where you can park to access the rocks. Hopefully you get up there and get a few 🙋♂️👍
@ hi david .. yeah im hoping so 🤞🏻 some huge seas at tje min .. tried fishing sluice beach last night and it was unfishable .. 3m breakers crashing in and with it being a 5m high tide i had my rod stand on top of the dunes as the water was covering the whole beach .. anyway thanks for the info bud , tight lines and thanks again 👍🏻
Watch the added video Dave... Circle hooks 🤔 Realistically designed for the fish to take the bait and then bolt/run thereby self hooking itself. Clear evidence in the video that Cod act very differently when taking bait. Obviously some get caught but the hooking rate is very poor at best... What's the answer? Wide gape for me 😊
@@GaryWilson-c7g cheers Gary. Yeah I learned me lesson very quickly. The double circle set up lasted all of 1.5 sessions. I’m now back to a bottom j hook with the top circle used more as a bait stop than anything else. Thanks for watching and tight lines 🙏🙋♂️
When using a circle as a top pennel hook better to fix the hook with a snell knot threaded through front (same side as the point), tie your bottom hook on the tag end of the snell, the top hook (circle) should be sat on top of and clear of the bait and not in it, the hook turns and catches much better this way , also works better fished on a fixed snood rather than a pulley too imo
@@davedelaney4290 cheers David. Good info. I typically use the top circle more as a bait stop than anything else. I used to use the knotless knot for hounds which I think k is pretty much what you’re saying. Totally agree, great effective rig. Thanks for watching and tight lines 🙋♂️👍
@ hi Dave was just trying to say that a circle works optimally when snelled, makes a massive difference to hook up rates compared to wrapping line around hook, loads of great vids and demos showing this on on the tube that explain it better than I can 😁great vids btw 👍
Dont see the point using circles as a pennel(along with a j bottom) as they dont like striking and the bottom jhook require striking. A chinu makes much more sense keep the circles for using on their own wether dongle or double circle pennel. I guess using a circle pennel and j bottom gives the option of a easy self hook on the circle and the option to strike on the j but there will be situations where it leads to lost fish also. The biggest issue with circles is they dont work well on slack liners the fish needs to be side on or moving away if the fish is swimming towards you, you will just pull the hook out its mouth, so its best to tighten upto a slack liner and wait for the fish to turn wich obviously is not ideal in the rough.
@@smashy152 yeah don’t disagree mate. The idea was more to minimise tackle losses (which it did), I after losing fish I’ve changed back to a bottom J hook. Thanks for watching and tight lines 🙏🙋♂️
Your right David the whole of the gape must be open and must be free to turn on a circle hook the smaller the gape the lighter the hooking power great video happy days 👍🥸
