Not supporting audio units by now is definitely a deal breaker. I can't get past it. I wouldn't compare it to beatmaker 3 because BM3 is specially designed for Beatmakers. I love it but cubasis is the one to compare to FL. And we can't forget Auria Pro. Bottom line is why bother with FL mobile when it has no auv3 support and cubasis and Auria pro are both much better. FL doesn't fit anywhere. I agree with you. I don't know what's wrong with a bad review. You gave an honest review, maybe a bit generous trying to be nice, which is cool. Thanks for the video.
I like what you said, I love fl studio mobile but if imageline adds whatever you mentioned, fl studio mobile will be a bop the best mobile daw ever created
Dude you downright didn’t give FL Studio a fair shot otherwise this video wouldn’t have been made. That’s just a shame, but please humor me by reading my elaboration & noodle on whether my points check out. Just so you know I’m not a troll btw, I’ve been subscribed for months & for the most part have never disagreed with anything from you like this. I still respect ur videography game though & appreciate most all ur content. But on the main course: First: FL’s UI was designed w/logical intent, & wasn’t simply a lack or creativity. Mobile devices just can’t touch the overall horsepower of desktop computers, even many laptop. This gives FL an advantage in that it allows you to utilize a far greater number or tracks & effects vs others. What I love most about the UI however is that it’s the most efficient & streamlined. It doesn’t suffer from vanity of aesthetics & ur not losing any processing power to anything outside of ur song’s content. Second: Umm yes, FL most certainly does utilize a separate mixer channels for each individual drum pad/ sample. In the sequencer window where you can pencil in notes, on right hand side simply tap on the name of the pad on the corresponding lane to highlight it, & then tap once more in the same spot to reveal the mixer you were looking for. Not only does it show you the mixer for changing volume/ pan, but has far more settings to adjust such as pitch/ stretch/ start for sample, next tab has A.D.S.R for envelope, & for sequencing settings such as grouping/ holds/ poly/ shifts/ and aux to chain to fx or master channels. Oh yea also in very left corner you can adjust individual swing for each & every pad. The only possible way to miss this easy to find/use feature is that you didn’t do ur homework or due diligence. If you want to prop up BM3 then that’s fine go for it BM3 is a great app, but don’t pull a hatchet job on innovators just cause you already had ur mind made up on not liking an app before trying it. That’s just bad form & as a subscriber is disappointing to see ( for me anyways).mm Third: Un-optimized?? See my first response a few lines above. Ur clearly not doing something right cause I never have any popping issues. Fourth: I agree. Having only IAA third party support has at times left me a bit thirsty, especially when hitting a creative wall. But in retrospect now, I was still able to create both efficiently & musically & was always able to fulfill a vision I had for a song. I mean it has built in EVERYTHING! Which allows you to utilize a greater number of effects per track. Hate to say again, but a little homework & you would have discovered the the very active developers of FL already have auv3 on deck for upcoming update. They care about their community & are responding to their requests for this feature. However I cannot agree on ur view of the FL instrument choice. The sound design capabilities of FL has an insurmountable scope of possibilities that I’m still discovering new sounds after 3 years. Not to mention, between mobile & desktop you can capture & create absolutely perfect sampled instruments of ur favorite vst plugins on desktop. I have a bunch of serum, massive, and even sector patches on my FL that I use a lot. Seriously buddy ur doing urself a disservice on FL. Just try to clean slate ur preemptive opinion on FL, spend some time on the user message boards & interact with the community cause that in itself really is yet another amazing feature unique to FL. The comradely among users is a sight to not only behold, but also be a part of. But they will also help you learn far quicker of the features you want that are coincidentally already there. A few last really quick points: it’s the very best daw on android & one of the very very few with the balls to tap into a huge market that hardly anyone else will bother with. Second, I can wirelessly transmit project files between iOS devices & even to my android devices in addition to even being able to pull it up perfectly on my desktop FL. Third and lastly for real, the IAP’s for FL Mobile are outstanding with each & every one of them being easily well worth the very very small asking price. I bought them all individually one by one too, so I’m not just blowing smoke. If you do become open to giving FL another shot & one that’s more fair, hmu & I’ll be happy to walk you thru & help you understand how innovative FL is as well as the many ways they’re ahead of the curve in ways other daw’s haven’t even imagined. FL isn’t perfect but none of them are, however it should be obvious by now how strongly I feel FL being a leader & innovator in the mobile market. I also own BM3, NS & NS2, Gadget 2, iMPC Pro 2, apeMatrix & AUM, & even Looper from Audiokit as well as Looperverse (Looperverse is amazing btw). However out of all of those I find myself back in FL most of all. The price point of bm3 makes it hard to admit, but bm3 is only app that I haven’t feel gave me my money’s worth from the start. Obv I could go on & on, but I’d be rather surprised/ floored if ya didn’t say screw that after seeing the length of my comment. However, maybe it’ll reach someone in need and prevent an unjust appointment.
Clearly you feel very passionately about FL Mobile. I think you missed a lot of the positive things I said about FL Mobile in this video. Mind you, I come from a decade of working in the desktop version of FL Studio, so I think my criticisms have some merit to them. If you don't like BM3, that's fine. I don't think it's for everyone, and there are other options out there. Lastly, I'll just touch on the points you mentioned: First point: iPads are plenty powerful. Sometimes more powerful than a desktop. Their only real limitation is software (and maybe a lack of port options). I use an m1 Mac as my desktop, and it literally has a processor that is based on the one in my iPad. Also, not sure how that applies to the look of the UI. I personally don't like it. You are allowed to like it if you so choose. Like I said in the video, the playlist looks really nice, and so do the pads and the mixer page. I'm not a fan of most of the other design choices. Second point: This was brought to my attention pretty quickly after making the video. I can admit that this was an oversight on my part. It certainly wasn't "easy to find" though. Third point: You not having the same issues with FL as me does not equal operator error. That's why I refrain from saying stuff like that to people when they bring up issues they are having w/ BM3. I may not be having them, but that doesn't make the program stable across the board. Fourth point: Yeah, I stand by my words on AUv3. As great as you feel like the sounds in FL Mobile are, the lack of AUv3 options is a no go for me. I have a good amount of instrument/fx plugins that really are great, and one of the features of a true DAW is hosting plugins. Also, you can't throw in FL desktop sounds as a plus to FL Mobile. Evaluate the strength of the app based on the app, not a work-around. At the end of the day, every producer has bias. That includes me and you. I am (and have been) open to the idea of giving FL Mobile another shot, but that's not going to happen for me until AUv3 support comes and the UI improves. Also, people will tend to be more receptive to critique when you avoid belittling them in the process. Someone's choice of DAW really isn't that serious. Anyways, thanks for watching the video, and enjoy FL Mobile!
We’re totally allowed to disagree and I’m not gonna not watch ur videos if we do. There were just such a huge number of features that you missed completely cause you wrote it off too soon. I mean some of them are really easy to find out about but are really sweet features that others don’t have. They all do have they’re strengths, but I go back some years with FL and FL Mobile, and some of my fav creations have been on FL Mobile more so than any desktop DaW. Really it helps to have some of ur sample library on FL, but conveniently they make that crazy super easy. You do a good job with ur vids I won’t knock that or anything else really, but when the overall premise of the video was screwed to reasons why ppl shouldn’t buy FL without fully taking a deep enough dive into the app and really giving it a fair shot that just didn’t seem right & unfair to ppl that might enjoy it more if they weren’t lead differently. There are so many other unique features to FL that I didn’t even touch on, if my long post was 80% about what I think is wrong with BM3 ur reply ( I guess but maybe not) might’ve had a slightly different tone or at least my post would have been received differently.
Tbh, I haven’t bought headphones in years, because the ones I have have just been that good! They’re also significantly cheaper ➡️ amzn.to/2KxAgMt Hopefully this helps!
Who remembers when Fl studio mobile looked like a direct copy of the desktop version? Once they changed the ui it went downhill, it was to make it touch friendly but smh it’s confusing and hideous. Every time I tried to get into it, I couldn’t stand the look. It’s like a toy or something now 🤦🏾. It has possibilities but it just doesn’t look serious
I feel you on the look of it. Definitely not inviting for a serious producer. I’d be willing to give it a 2nd chance though, if they were to add AUv3 support. I didn’t use FL Mobile back before the redesign, so this layout is all I’ve known.

@@MusicTechnologist Beatmaker 3 was too laggy. Too bad I kinda liked it. Right now I’m leaning towards Cubasis. I was thinking DAWless, but that looks more helpful for live situations. That would not be for me. I tried Auria Pro. It looks great, but I’m not smart enough to use it.😭

There is an option in the settings to toggle on 32bit for recording. I’m assuming you mean the export bitrate though. When you go in to save as WAV, there is a “high quality” button. I would assume that is 32bit.
Your first problem is using a tablet as your main. Id suggest not using Mobile devices or apps for your main source of production. If youre away from home or cant bring your PC its great. Youll never get enough computing power and Ram from ANY mobile device. Mobile devices, no matter howmuch you spend is good for FINISHED production. live shows and last minute stuff, go for it.
Hey BIG BOSS! I’m not planning on covering FL Mobile again until they’ve added support for AUv3 plugins. In my book, Cubasis 3 is clear ahead of FL Mobile until that change happens.
Tbh I have never used Mixbox CS, but it looks really good! It has AUv3 support, so it should work with BeatMaker 3 just fine! I know Joel Dodge (on UA-cam) uses it a lot, but he uses it with Cubasis 3.
One issue I have with FL Studio Mobile - is that I can't save any custom instruments I make using samples like DirectWave, and what pisses me off even more is that any tutorial I search up doesn't give me what I want. Most of them are the same tutorials I see. Like why can't people make a tutorial like that? Are they afraid they're gonna get copyright striked or something?
Though maybe that's just a personal thing. Maybe I should look further in the searches as I don't owe anyone a favor nor does the world owe me anything
When you edit the directwave parameters, there’s a button in the 3-line menu that says “save preset.” That should save everything you tweaked. Next time you load up DirectWave, go to “my files” and then “my presets.”
Fl studio mobile is a tool. Every tool has a special mission. So there is no reason to cancel fl mobile or any other music program. Paco de Lucia has 100 quitars ok?
I absolutely agree, which is why I titled the video”Why ➡️I⬅️ Didn’t Choose FL Mobile,” not “Why YOU Shouldn’t Choose FL Mobile.” Not looking to cancel anything. Use the tool that works for you! 👍🏽
So I have a question I recently got FL studio at mobile and I have this nice Casio keyboard my question is how do I use the sounds that's on the keyboard instead of the ones that's on the app
Great question, Quintin! Yes, this is possible. It just takes a bit of gear. You'll want to use either the headphone out or the line out on your keyboard and run that cable into an audio interface. Plug that audio interface into your iPad. Open up FL Mobile and record into an audio track. Hope this helps! 👍🏽 DM me on twitter if you need some gear recommendations. Also, feel free to scroll down the UA-cam description on any of my videos to see the gear I use.
In the video you said you have a ipad pro so can you please turn voice over on and try it out on FL studio mobile for me it would be great help Do not worry voice over is not going to mess up your ipad you can just turn it off and the ipad is going to be back to normal or you can tell siri to turn it off
Okay, so I gave it a shot! I tried doing the gestures, but nothing worked in fl studio mobile unfortunately. 😞 I also went ahead and tested all of the DAWs that I have, and it looks like GarageBand works great! 🙂
Just found your video and what does me right in is when you share your project from fL mobile to FL Studio FL mobile comes up as an app and technically it should come up through the desktop version like normal instead of the app that would I think it's stupid about it cannot transfer your track and carry on with the other plugins on it that's the other thing they need to update get rid of the app when it comes up through the desktop make it so it comes up normally through FL Studio so you can carry on working with your track no problem #oddersproductions

I hate FL Studio mobile. I bought it and couldn't get it to play my MIDI keyboard even after over an hour of digging around the Internet. It works as a controller OK but it must go the other way like every other DAW I've used. I should be able to easily set up MIDI channels, record, loop and playback. Not with this random collection of whatever. I got my money back.
Yeah, personally I haven’t even taken the time to deep dive into the midi settings in FL Mobile, because I’m not all that interested in it until they add AUv3 support.
I don’t know of anything that can do everything that BM3 does on android, but I know that Cubasis 3 is available for android. I’ve used it on iPad/iPhone and it’s pretty solid! I covered it a bit in this video ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/Dskg4wBN5dM/v-deo.html
Not sure I understand the question. Inter-App Audio isn’t a specific app, it’s a standard that allows audio apps to communicate w/ each other. If you’re trying to load an IAA plugin in FL Mobile, press the plus to add an instrument and then select IAA.
I was almost going to pay for fl studio mobile on my laptop since super cheap $15 but now I don't care I pay for fl studio 21 pc for $200 for more although that's cheap as well lol
I have gadget, but never use it. I don’t even know how good the workflow is. If there’s no AU then it’ll probably be some time before I give it a shot.

I'm kind of in the same boat. TBH FL Mobile isn't that bad except that it needs AUv3 support. If they add that, I'll give it another shot!
Executed perfectly. Good work my brother,..
I like what you said, I love fl studio mobile but if imageline adds whatever you mentioned, fl studio mobile will be a bop the best mobile daw ever created
If they could just give us a full fledged FL Studio for iPad, they'd have the market cornered, at least until Logic comes out!
It's 2024...... Almost 4 years later.... And EVERYTHING YOU SAID is STILL an issue smh...
But on the main course:
First: FL’s UI was designed w/logical intent, & wasn’t simply a lack or creativity.
That’s just bad form & as a subscriber is disappointing to see ( for me anyways).mm
Third: Un-optimized??
Lastly, I'll just touch on the points you mentioned:
First point: iPads are plenty powerful.
Wrote a whole ass book 😭
I'm glad he did know ima give it a chance
That intro beat is fire, man!
Thanks fam! 🙏🏽
@Jay Casteline I did! Thanks again!
CAN I USE FL STUDIO MOBILE IN 4/64 GB MOBILE 64 BIT AND HAS SNAPDRAGIN 450 PROCESSOR ...PLZZ TELL ME....MY MOBILE IS SAMSUNG M11
Yo bro u can easily use ......FLM
My phone is 3/32
But runs smooth
@senka Thanks for the info! I don’t currently use android for music production, so you are better informed there than I.
PLEASE SUGGEST ME A CHEAP BEGNEER STUDIO HEADPHONE FOR MUSIC PRODUCTION.
Tbh, I haven’t bought headphones in years, because the ones I have have just been that good! I use the Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT ➡️ amzn.to/2HoOtKi There’s also the M40x, which many people swear by, and some people like them better than the M50x.
Hello. Is Beatmaker 3 a DAW? If so, is it still viable today? So far I'm looking at Garageband for my DAW, but I'm pretty clueless.
Hey Greg! Yes, BeatMaker 3 is a DAW. My 2 top picks for iPadOS DAWs are BeatMaker 3 and Cubasis 3. You definitely can do a lot in Garageband though, so I wouldn't steer you away from that!
@@MusicTechnologist Beatmaker 3 was too laggy. Too bad I kinda liked it. Right now I’m leaning towards Cubasis. I was thinking DAWless, but that looks more helpful for live situations. That would not be for me. I tried Auria Pro. It looks great, but I’m not smart enough to use it.😭
Bruh they added the ability to make each individual drum different noise levels in the new update! :)
Great content man keep up the great work! I wanted to download and pay for this app to record music using my Rode NT1 Mic do you recommend this app for recording or something else better?
I highly recommend BeatMaker 3! It’s on sale for 50% off currently for the new year!
@@MusicTechnologist Thank you man I appreciate it a lot. I'm using bandlab right now seems decent but I'm gonna check out the one you recommend
I bought fl studio a long time ago made a beat or 2 should’ve stuck with it I definitely wana get back into it just to play around
I use atom 2 iOS piano roll instead of bm3 it's like FL studio Mac/PC piano roll super advanced ghost notes and all. But BeatMaker3 is the best DAW mobile and as good as and better then PC/MAC DAW's.
That sounds dope! I've been hearing a lot of good things about Atom 2! I'm going to have to check it out!
Hey you done the video!!
Your dope with your content man.u bring to the table the exact kinda info people in this industry want to se
..love it man
Unfortunately I've been swayed back to pc daw again
Back in ableton funny enuff.. I just cant seem to find a program with simerler features on ios or android ..i will still make the occasional track on the pad when I'm in the mood..anyhow keep bringing this dope content bro..thanks alot msging back.(in the end ))
Loool 😁😁😉😉😉
I appreciate the feedback, fam! I think it’s good to keep your options open. Use what works for you! Being frustrated with software can definitely be a creativity killer! I’ll keep the content coming! 💪🏽
I made it on spotify editorial playlists using fl mobile only.
Congrats bro. More power to you. To each their own, it’s just not my bag
what Im worried about Fl mobile is you dont know if it is 32 bit or 24 bit. Also the sync.
There is an option in the settings to toggle on 32bit for recording. I’m assuming you mean the export bitrate though. When you go in to save as WAV, there is a “high quality” button. I would assume that is 32bit.
you get used to the layout if you use for a while
I suppose I could, but the lack of AUv3 support makes me not want to try.
@@MusicTechnologist ua-cam.com/video/kcRwkZyyDoY/v-deo.html share it 🤗... Watch Space Melody Remake
Does the phone u got influence the sound at the end after the rendering?
Can’t say for sure. I’ve only used it on my iPad Pro, but I would imagine it doesn’t.
Can you make comparison video on fl studio mobile vs cubasis 3
Hey BIG BOSS! I’m not planning on covering FL Mobile again until they’ve added support for AUv3 plugins. In my book, Cubasis 3 is clear ahead of FL Mobile until that change happens.
Not having logic daw on iPad ,that would smoke all other daws out
Fingers crossed for WWDC!! 🤞🏽We’ll see!
Put FL mobile aside I got to ask what do u think on mixbox C's is this good for beatmaker 3
Tbh I have never used Mixbox CS, but it looks really good! It has AUv3 support, so it should work with BeatMaker 3 just fine! I know Joel Dodge (on UA-cam) uses it a lot, but he uses it with Cubasis 3.
Yh I went and got mix box C's it's good bit kit but yh if u not used it it's worth go enjoy ur week
Is it possible to have the normal fl studio on the iPad pro ? Thanks
Next time you load up DirectWave, go to “my files” and then “my presets.”
it’s possible.
Is it simple to make beats with 808s and snares? Also I’m using a chrome book becuase I can’t use regular fl studio on here is it good for laptop?
Fl studio mobile is a tool. Every tool has a special mission. So there is no reason to cancel fl mobile or any other music program. Paco de Lucia has 100 quitars ok?
I absolutely agree, which is why I titled the video”Why ➡️I⬅️ Didn’t Choose FL Mobile,” not “Why YOU Shouldn’t Choose FL Mobile.” Not looking to cancel anything. Use the tool that works for you! 👍🏽
Can someone plz tell me if fl studio is offline. I don't want to waste my MB for nth
You do not need to be connected to the internet to use it
@@MusicTechnologist thanks bro
@@MusicTechnologist ok what do I plug into the headphone out
what about for an absolute beginner that just want to have fun trying to make music?
I'm gonna try it too just for fun.
Is FL studio mobile compatible with voice over for the ipad because I am blind and I wanna use it
This is a great question, but honestly I really don’t know. I’m not very familiar with how voiceover works and what makes an app compatible.
In the video you said you have a ipad pro so can you please turn voice over on and try it out on FL studio mobile for me it would be great help
Do not worry voice over is not going to mess up your ipad you can just turn it off and the ipad is going to be back to normal or you can tell siri to turn it off
Okay, so I gave it a shot! I tried doing the gestures, but nothing worked in fl studio mobile unfortunately. 😞 I also went ahead and tested all of the DAWs that I have, and it looks like GarageBand works great! 🙂
I wish Beatmaker 3 will add some MpE support since i got alot of Roli Gear!!!
Haven’t used any Roli gear yet, so I didn’t know about the MpE support. Can’t you use the roli noise app as a plugin?
The popping/clicks when a new section is played really annoys me.
I think it has improved now in 2024
How can something not have a freakin step sequencer XD like maybe only 15% of people use other methods for sequencing
Just found your video and what does me right in is when you share your project from fL mobile to FL Studio FL mobile comes up as an app and technically it should come up through the desktop version like normal instead of the app that would I think it's stupid about it cannot transfer your track and carry on with the other plugins on it that's the other thing they need to update get rid of the app when it comes up through the desktop make it so it comes up normally through FL Studio so you can carry on working with your track no problem
#oddersproductions
I hear you! Tbh, if they could drop a desktop-level FL for iPad, it would solve all of our problems!
YOU CAN'T GET BEATMAKER on Android tablets bro....... So it's either FL Studio mobile or Cubasis. Everyone's situation is different.
i just got the app and im trying to record with the apogee hype mic (its a usb mic ) and i just get weird noises when i try to record vocals .. do you got a tip what i gotta do to get a clear sound would be nice .. ✌️🤝
I noticed the popping when programming a Bass line. Not good is it .
Yeah, I don’t know what causes it, but it shouldn’t be happening with an iPad Pro
How do I get to the screen you showed for inner app audio support?
Audio tracks in NanoStudio 2 , there aren’t any. That’s what’s missing.
Yeah, one of the reasons I haven’t really messed it either
I hate FL Studio mobile. I bought it and couldn't get it to play my MIDI keyboard even after over an hour of digging around the Internet. It works as a controller OK but it must go the other way like every other DAW I've used. I should be able to easily set up MIDI channels, record, loop and playback. Not with this random collection of whatever. I got my money back.
Yeah, personally I haven’t even taken the time to deep dive into the midi settings in FL Mobile, because I’m not all that interested in it until they add AUv3 support.
Good Video!
Thanks!
I like fl studio for Ipad.
So bite me 🤪
Do you know of any good alternatives of beatmaker for android?
I don’t know of anything that can do everything that BM3 does on android, but I know that Cubasis 3 is available for android. I’ve used it on iPad/iPhone and it’s pretty solid! I covered it a bit in this video ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/Dskg4wBN5dM/v-deo.html
You can try bandlab
Im a fl studio mobile user 😁
There's an app for everyone! Glad you found yours!
@@MusicTechnologist thanks bro
Were can I get the inner app audio, like that AA synthesizer?
Not sure I understand the question. Inter-App Audio isn’t a specific app, it’s a standard that allows audio apps to communicate w/ each other. If you’re trying to load an IAA plugin in FL Mobile, press the plus to add an instrument and then select IAA.
the first reason is dumb.. its a mobile app not a computer… its a mobile app ofc everythings ganna be hidden its not a big screen
I was almost going to pay for fl studio mobile on my laptop since super cheap $15 but now I don't care I pay for fl studio 21 pc for $200 for more although that's cheap as well lol
Having trouble registering on mobile.smh
Not sure what you mean by “registering?”
It's asking me to create an account and log in. I've purchased it and it's still in demo mode.
All gadget needs is AU
I have gadget, but never use it. I don’t even know how good the workflow is. If there’s no AU then it’ll probably be some time before I give it a shot.
@@MusicTechnologist it’s really good to flesh out ideas and export. It can export stems and midi
Fl mobile needs time stretch
You could give me an iPad.
Started on FL too. FL Mobile is HORRIBLE.
It’s got some things going for it, but definitely several steps from being full-fledged software.
GOD bless
You as well! ✊🏽
Yeah I hate it to
Fl studio mobile need some improvements n track is far better.
I’d be really interested in seeing the desktop version make it’s way to the iPad! 🤞🏽
Кто русский подскажите кто победил?
Я не русский, но использую Google Translate. Когда дело доходит до выбора DAW, нет явного победителя. Все сводится к предпочтениям, но я скажу, что предпочитаю BeatMaker 3.
I don't use apple products of any kind, so I have no features I would want to see on an iPad DAW.
Flm is pog
Idk if I’d take it that far, but it is certainly a far cry from the desktop version.
Fl mobile is better
FL Mobile is better then fl studio. Dont @ me
fam...HOW THO? 😁
