I saw this in action for the first time in a year 1 class yesterday that I was relief teaching in. I have never seen a group of kids so into something like this. It was brilliant. Going to suggest it to the school I usually work at.
funny to think it was only two years ago when I was being herded into the assembly hall on a freezing Tuesday or Wednesday morning with the rest of the school. The projector came down and jump jam came on. The girls had to stand at the front of the room with the boys in the back. Me, being the walking talking shitshow that I was made sure to hide among my friends so none of the boys could see me completely mess it up. The P.E teacher would ask for requests, of course he never listened to the majority and always chose the songs that no one liked. Of course, as I was far too awkward to really get into it, I only put on a half-hearted performance. Until, however, it came on. The one song that had plagued my dreams and nightmares from the age of 5. The voice rang out loud and clear in my ears.. "Hey Witch Doctor, give us the magic words!" Suddenly, I was no longer a social awkward and very self conscious pre-teen. I was the master. I was the lord of Jump Jam. The whole school bowed down to me as I flapped my arms singing the sacred chant of "Ooh eee ooh ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang" as loud as I could. All my fear and hesitation had vanished. I was one with the Witch Doctor.. And he was one with me.
@@Junispro31 It happens so often 😭 I’ll revisit a video I remember watching as a kid and see a comment I posted like 7 years ago and it is just the most atrocious thing I’ve ever read and I have no recollection of ever writing it.
