Hey, if I get the stainless steel cartridge grip and the push bar, after each session I have to sterilize everything again or I would just throw the cartridge needle away?
Terry I'm new with this kind of machine, I do permanent MakeUp and your videos are very helpful thank you so much!!! I have a question: What machine is better Bishop V6 or Dragonfly?
Hello. I'm using classical brass machines. I'm interested in taking the step up to rotary machines, however have heard only negative information as such. One example is that the needles do not operate with the stability of a traditional machine. Is this B.S.? Where do I go to get legitimate information?? Thanks. Mark Steele
I think you should just talk to other artists who have switched over from coil machines to rotary. Last tattoo convention I went to, tons of long-time artists were using them and had made the switch. Rotaries may have a different feel, but it's no different than when you buy a new coil machine and have to get the feel of it. I know some artists who use loop needle bars with their rotaries. Like with the FK Irons Spektra Halo, you can use either loop needle bars or cartridges.
I've been watching your videos and I purchase the bishop Magi and I'm wondering how you set the needle depth on the cartridges I'm not sure not used to the whole thing with cartridges I know how to set it but I'm not sure on how deep to do it with the Rotary PS love your videos that are very helpful
hi James...hmmmmm if I'm reading your questions correctly, you're not sure about the stroke of the machine and how deep the needles will penetrate? I always go by the vibration feel in my stretching hand. Needle depth is the same for carts as is for loop needle bars. If you are talking about "give", Bishop machines don't have adjustable give. They say your hand speed and pressure after a few tattoos will "train your brain" to what is correct. They call it "organic" give. Hope this answers your questions. They are a bit different than traditional coil machines...but I love them and the results I get. Have a great day..
Hello, I am about to buy a magi tattoo machine, but would like to know 2 things1 - is this machine good to do full blocks of black? Like black work, and marquesan tribal?2 - is it good to do whip shade old school style? Thank you so much!! Cheers from Milan :)
hey how are you- my Magi has been running inconsistenly, as if it has a power drain, and sort of bogs down to the point where it is having an adverse effect on my work, starting with my concentration.. any ideas? I have checked power supplies and cords... same thing..
What grips are you using? A friend of mine was having this same problem and changed to the grips that bishop sells , the Phantom cartridge grips ...and the problem stopped. I use the grips from monster steel called Ruthless, and have had no problems.
Thank you for the reply! Well the grips we trouble shot, but it turned out that of all things it has been the Critical power supply which has been giving me the uneven throw.. so believe it or not I grabbed a $18 mini power supply that came with an Ebay kit we had picked up like three years ago and until I grab a new power supply from our sponsor in the next few days I am just going to continue to use the one unit that works.. The criticals, which we have 4 of in the shop all run the MAGI that way for some reason I will have to have someone explain to me eventually - but it is time for an upgrade anyway.
So yep I thought it was a grip issue and then after twenty minutes using the crit, it got wonky. So... I stsrted using the other standard 2015 bishop Capone, and my flow got back in the groove. But. I decided to take a chance on the Fusion Ink version of the Cheyenne Hawk and it has the power of an Axyss direct and the fluidity of the Edge.. It's strong and I'm hooked. Is called the Paradox and it feels like Michaelangelos jack hammer!
Hi, thanks for this video since there are not tons of info out there about the magi. My questions is what do you think Is the best voltage for running the magi? And the best voltage you use the magi for on breast work ? Can you talk about how to choose your voltage for pmu especially breast. Ps, I have the critical power supply just like you :) thanks
For a rotary machine, you want the machine to keep up with your hand. So if you tend to work super fast, your power supply would need to be a bit higher. Most of the rotary machines come with suggested voltage settings. I tend to run my machines right around 8 volts. Check on www.bishoprotary.com and read up on Magi. You will find those suggested ranges.
I've been debating on getting a magi, I currently have the older bishops for shading nd coloring but I wanted to get a magi for outlining since the coil liner is too much for my wrist,, I was just wondering how good is the magi for outlining?
Permanent Cosmetics Training by Terry Lively ...because the shading bishops aren't that good at lining so I was gonna get a lining bishop but I would prefer the magi.. anyways thanks for the feedback I appreciate it.. if u line with it let me know how it goes :)
Those ttech grips only use "plunger" bars , and the needle bars that come with the magi don't work with ttech grips , I actually have a bag full of the plunger bars I can send you or show you picks of, you can't use those kind of grips with certain needle bars , you can see through the front of your grip the size of the hole is wider than the magi needle bar tip
Where did you get the plunger bars? I can order...or you can send me some and I'll reimburse you. Thanks Carlos. Where are you located? You can email me at livelyterry at gmail
Where did you get that ink holder for the wall so cool
Cut the loop off the plunger and it will slide into the cam no problem. I know its a little late but it works perfect.
Thanks for making this video, i ll watch more of your stuff later, keep them coming!
Question im gonna buy a bishop but dont know wich one to get like iam undicided fantom magi or micro any recomandation plz
What lining voltage do you use?

Is it possible to use a regular tube and needle with the magi instead of the cartridges??

Yes it would be great for color packing and shading.
For general tattooing do you prefer traditional needles or cartridges?
I've gotten where I like cartridges. At first I preferred needle bars.
@@TerryLivelyInk thank you , I appreciate it
Hi there , would you recommend the magi as a an all rounder? as I like the look and size of it bug only want to buy one machine for now. Thanks
Yes, great machine for lining, shading and color.

I think it would be a great liner. It runs like a bat out of hell... I mostly shade and color, so haven't actually lined with it.

I have the RPG 2 grip cartridges also
On Bishop's site it says to use the 80 mm plunger bar for click grips. Hope this helps..
Is there an email I can reach you at? Your videos have been very helpful but I have a few questions if you don't mind!
Sure, you can reach me at livelyterry@gmail
You musta pissed someone off at PainfulPleasures or something. They normally sell to anyone, no questions asked.
Really? This was my first experience with them. Maybe they are changing things...
Just cut the end of the T-Tech bar off and BOOM... FITS the MAGI... DO NOT USE TAPE WILL SLIP... GOOD LUCK - PROBLEM SOLVED :)
Thanks love...I'll try that !!
I emailed you and told your assistant to let you know I contacted her , I sent you a message through Instagram messages too
