The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6 is a great sports car. No doubt about, but I'm the proud owner of an Altima Coupe 3.5L V6. The fact is that the VQ35DE engine is legendary. All the engines from the VQ line have won so many awards.
I personally love my 2.5S. I had a 1998 Supra back in the day, and don't really feel the need for a big engine anymore. I wanted a sporty car, not a sports car...and this thing is just perfect for me. All it took was a few new body parts and it looks fast without making it seem any different.
@Itochan60 Actually fwd cars are much more difficult to control in emergency situations. If someone wants to keep traction during winter but wants something sporty they should be looking at AWD cars. Mitsubishi Evos, Subaru Imprezas, Audis with Quattro, Mercedes with 4matic, theres many options. Though most drivers aren't trained to know what to do when they lose control anyway.
I know, WTF were they thinking ?!?! The 3.5 liter Altima Coupe was the 350Z for those that live in the snowbelt. No V6 means this car is just a Nissan equivalent of a Scion tC.
This dude bases his review off of horsepower alone which is bull shit... not everyone can afford the gas or insurance of a car with a v6. And just because the 2.5 doesnt have 250 horsepower it doesnt mean its a ladies car.....
@sexyboi142 areu sure? i thought i saw on comsumer reports that the accord v6 has like 271 and the altima 3.5 v6 has like 270, so i thought theyre pretty similar
My 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe is a lemon due to multiple brake failures, peeling paint, and several electrical issues. Nissan has admitted my car is a lemon and is taking their time to buy back the car (it's been over 1.5 years) and is only offering $64 in reimbursement for towing fees and rental car fees. My advice: go with Honda, Acura, Toyota, or Lexus = no hassle; better quality cars.
@jgalade123 Idk but you'll have a hard time finding anything with a manual transmission on a Nissan lot. I worked for a Nissan dealership for almost a year and literally only drove one new car with a manual transmission--a base model Nissan Versa sedan. The transmission itself nearly put me to sleep it was too boring and too easy to use. I hear that this 6 speed is much better than that though.
I can't see how you can compare Nissan to Hyundai. Yes, Hyundai designs are nice, but I dont think it can beat Nissan's world famous V6 engine. I can honestly say that my 2005 Maxima is better than a new Genesis. Thats my opinion. :-D
@Caliluv562 Na I'm good. No thumbs up for you. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. I mean are you seriously comparing a Genesis Coupe to a G37 man? The G37 is a much better car. The Genesis Coupe is good but it's still got some work to do. The manual transmission is rubbery, the seats are uncomfortable, it's got tons of blind spots, and it seems to be designed for short people. I'm not bashing the Genesis. I'm really not. I'm just saying it needs to be refined some.
to be completely honest, I disagree with a lot of this review...even with the CVT 2.5s package, this car is very peppy and has great character, even with only 170-ish horsepower. The handling on it is great, and it is a very fun car to drive. Personally, my friends and I found the back seats very nice with even 3 people back there. we're all a bit under 6 feet, but they all said that it's just as comfy as my volvo station wagon. also, I found trunk space to be the worst thing about the car...
@LFADRIFTER because the CVT transmissions in Nissans are annoying. I really hate how they work. Trust me I've driven every single one of them. I used to work for a Nissan dealership. They honestly kill the fun. If I had to have an automatic I would rather have something with some set gear ratios. I had the Altimas that I drove in manual mode constantly. But in the end I'm a stick-shift kind of guy. I feel way more connected to-and in control of-the car.
i would get it over a genesis coupe.. because rear-wheel-drive plus snow = im gonna wreck my brand new car.. there is ZERO traction in snowy conditions in an RWD vehicle.... in a front wheel, its not that bad. i would pick this.
@killacrossova621 its a fucking 2 seater lol i was all into the 350 until i thought about it whats better a 2 seater or 4 ? lol its way better to get a ininiti g35 or 37 or this coupe there all great
@korlui Apparently you dont get what I'm trying to say. So let me break it down for you. First of all its a Maxima not mexima. Second of all the reason I compared it to that shitty hyundai is because, i was trying to say that even my 05 yes 05 can beat that shit. So basically what Im trying to say is that even an older car can out-beat the shitty hyundai.
@joesingle As will I. I've owned both brands and while they had a few minor issues they have had bulletproof reliability 99.99% of the time. BMW and others may be an ego boost for posers but it's wasted money, on a daily basis LOL.
@korlui First of all, whats up your ass?? I'm just saying what I feel, this is America, right? And how would YOU know if my Maxima if shitty? And yes their are plenty of things that the Maxima beats the genesis on. I'm not saying its a bad car, but you can't compare it to a Nissan. Nissan has been in the sports car business for a looooooong time. Just because hyundai has a sudden improvement in its fleet doesn't make it better.
@Caliluv562 Actually Nissan and Infiniti are the same companies, Infiniti is just the luxury brand; just like Acura is the luxury brand for Honda. Another thing you have wrong is that the g35's and g37's are based off of the 350z and 370z respectively. The Altima Coupe tries to grab the drivers who want a sportier car that is both a coupe and semi-family oriented. You should check your info source. It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
hyundai is trash. having said that id take the honda accord coupe over this the nissan altima coupe. love the altima coupe great car but i like the accord coupe better.
@MikeHutnan i know infinity is from nissan wtf you think im stupid. Who the fuck wants a semi-family oriented cope?? maybe a grampa trying to be cool or a chick, no real sports coupe fan would considered this a sports coupe sorry to break this to you trick. My point was that the genesis coupe is a copy of the G37 but it cost under 30,000 and it is a real sports car and might i add the altima coupe cost around +30,000 for the v6.
@SimonFanTV u dont know shit just cause its a Hyundai doesn't it mean its shit. Hyundai step up with the genesis coupe and it would beat the altima coupe in everything put aside that altima is fwd fake as sports car but still a nice car. N fuck it ifthey copied the G37 its a cheaper version if you want a sports car but you don't want to pay over 30,000 Hyundai Genesis coupe is your car.
the rear end looks nice.. front is.. eh.. and it is another decent looking sporty coupe.. ruined. Front wheel drive.. why? it is just so terrible!! Cheap assholes save money by making fwd POS cars. ugh.
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6 is a great sports car. No doubt about, but I'm the proud owner of an Altima Coupe 3.5L V6. The fact is that the VQ35DE engine is legendary. All the engines from the VQ line have won so many awards.
I bought a loaded 2011 and I love her so much!!!! Sexy car, super fun to drive!!!
I just got a 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5 s with 67,000 I love it
how much did it cost you?
Got my 08 coupe for 5k with only 75000it’s a only a 2.5 tho😢
I got an 08 a couple of weeks ago. It has a V6 and a manuel transmission. Such an amazing car
I personally love my 2.5S. I had a 1998 Supra back in the day, and don't really feel the need for a big engine anymore. I wanted a sporty car, not a sports car...and this thing is just perfect for me. All it took was a few new body parts and it looks fast without making it seem any different.
I've got a 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5 and I'm super happy with it...it's got plenty of pep and it turns heads (in a good way).
AHAHAHA I thought it said Autoboob!
So cool coupe! It extremely pity that I cannot buy this in Japan!
Even though it's from Japan

this guy is a good reviewer
@tacotime117 the 2011 accord i think was rated at 280-286hp
It has even drive shafts that eliminate torque steer
nissan does not suck
@JimmyChannel1
Yeah I know what you mean man. I dont know why Nissan hasn't made the Maxima RWD yet......
I have a 2010 coup 200.000 and counting it's paid for I love my car❤
The 2.5 CVT is a great car for what it is intended to do....
This dude bases his review off of horsepower alone which is bull shit... not everyone can afford the gas or insurance of a car with a v6. And just because the 2.5 doesnt have 250 horsepower it doesnt mean its a ladies car.....
What is in the most basic package?
Why is this car and the Accord still FWD cars you know? Wouldn't it be better if it was RWD?
So your trying to say that we should put kids in the trunk?
😂😂😂
@sexyboi142 areu sure? i thought i saw on comsumer reports that the accord v6 has like 271 and the altima 3.5 v6 has like 270, so i thought theyre pretty similar
2.5S with a manual transmission is still fun!

@keviiinn people that don't want to be at the dealer every month making great use of that warranty.....
This 0r a g35?
@joesingle
Your point?

@XanderHypnotismo Some people want sporty cars for the summer and something that won't kill them whent he snow flies.
I just found a 2010 Altima Coupe SR (3.5l) for 14,900
@robins1818 so, GT-R's suck? :S
@remelsheikh i have on and i really hope you do! i love my car to death! plus i get alot of implements on it!
im straight up repin the VQ35DE. There is nothing better than that
Why not just buy a Nissan 350z ?
$90,000 car? G35 coupe is sold for no more than 20-25 grand
I can't see how you can compare Nissan to Hyundai. Yes, Hyundai designs are nice, but I dont think it can beat Nissan's world famous V6 engine. I can honestly say that my 2005 Maxima is better than a new Genesis. Thats my opinion. :-D

theres some other people comparing this to a nissan gtr
@LFADRIFTER because the CVT transmissions in Nissans are annoying. I really hate how they work. Trust me I've driven every single one of them. I used to work for a Nissan dealership. why?
@BANANAx911 Nissan owns Infiniti, just like Honda owns Acura lmao. fail
Amazing car. At a cheap commuter
i would get it over a genesis coupe.. because rear-wheel-drive plus snow = im gonna wreck my brand new car.. there is ZERO traction in snowy conditions in an RWD vehicle.... in a front wheel, its not that bad. i would pick this.
g35 is horrible on gas milage
I would have gotten one of these instead of an 2007 Acura TSX if it weren't for the stupid CVT.
i prefer this over a bmw this car is nice.nissan steppign it up.
@killacrossova621 its a fucking 2 seater lol i was all into the 350 until i thought about it whats better a 2 seater or 4 ? lol its way better to get a ininiti g35 or 37 or this coupe there all great

@joesingle As will I. I've owned both brands and while they had a few minor issues they have had bulletproof reliability 99.99% of the time. BMW and others may be an ego boost for posers but it's wasted money, on a daily basis LOL.

@keviiinn
I hate that car's interior
@MacPr0xnxx0 u would be stupid to get this over a g35...
@killacrossova621 They are known as the most deadly car in the USA.. might deter some people :)
hyundai is trash. having said that id take the honda accord coupe over this the nissan altima coupe. love the altima coupe great car but i like the accord coupe better.

FWD?! pass.
@SgtSprinkles21 well your spoiled lol
fuck nissian i thats why i took my money to Hyundai sadly i would have never said that 3 years ago!
the accord is better...the coupe anyway. The V6 accord coupe is almost at 300hp now...the next will have at least 320hp....just sayin lol
@keviiinn Anyone with a brain and any amount of knowledge on automobiles.
This isn't a good sports car, it is just a coupe and that is about it.
the rear end looks nice.. front is.. eh.. and it is another decent looking sporty coupe.. ruined. Front wheel drive.. why? it is just so terrible!! Cheap assholes save money by making fwd POS cars. ugh.
i dont really care.... G35 can easily smoke this car
Ivan Hernandez depends on the driver
too fat for this car
@keviiinn Exactly the Genesis dominates over this Altima.
@korlui
You know what you're just a waste of time. Why dont you just go fuck yourself.
pretty bad reviewer
