Holy cow as someone who has gone to a rock climbing gym like 3x in my life watching this is amazing... The ability to hold themselves upside down on some of these holds that are just a slope is like mind boggling to me. Idk why this is not a more broadcast sport.
I don't really understand why the volume is always so low on these videos. IFFC how would you feel about upping the volume about 50% prior to uploading? Thanks in advance!
Chalk bags usually hang from the harness in a little cord attached to the upper part of the bag. If you turn upside down, the bag just hangs from the other side of the harness.
The biggest reason is that the bag isn't fixed rigidly to the climber's body, it can swing so that the bottom is always pointed to the ground. Other reasons is that the bag isn't always wide open- climbers can adjust the size of the opening to their liking; and some climbers prefer to put their chalk in "chalk balls" rather than have them in loose powder form inside the bag.
Absolutely, much harder I think. Could have been an issue with where they marked the left hold also. Seemed fine from where we were seeing, but almost every single competitor missed left by a decent margin.
@@snarkanoid agree. They are small screw on holds that are obscured by the volumes when the climbers are directly under them. Not only that, the left and right holds are spaced further apart, which requires more precision and shoulder strength to stay on.
I came here to watch Jain Kims graceful moves. Impossible with all those hillarious change of angles, zooming etc. There is no way for a climber to observe what the athlete actually does. No chance to learn or enjoy anything. I'm done watching IFSC crap. Things are really going downhill for Olympia..

Jain Kim's climbing technique is impeccable. My heart was racing! She's definitely my favorite climber of all time
it's like art when she climbs
She is the one I refer ppl to when I talk about near perfect static climbing technic :)
I always come back to her vods when I want to see close to perfect technique. She’s the best
Like a dancer

Wonderful to see Hanna Schubert so happy - and well deserved too. Big grats.
Also big grats to Jain Kim. The ballet dancer of climbing.
SO good to see Sean climbing in the finals again - it's been too long!
Excellent coverage thanks.

Is Jakob Schubert related to Franz Schubert?
. I really idolize janja garnbret... 😘😍💪
Why doesn't it show how much time they have?
That overhang tho.... I have no idea how they do it.

How come chalk doesn't fall out of the bag when they go upside down?

I want the IFSC job of door holder. Where do I apply?
How tiny Jain is compared to Janja
Devastating falls for all those ladies on the dyno... Routesetters must be kicking themselves!
Women's Dyno is harder than men's

The hand holds at the top look like giant fried eggs.
Fuck yeah Jain!
Think it's quite dangerous for the men to have this big gap at the beginning without any quickdraw and the belayer not even spotting the climber...
Less dangerous than the average boulder.
@Finnspin_unicycles there's no mat on lead..

If you pretend you're actually solo climbing up the rope one and will certainly fall to your death if you slip, that could help your performance :)
Janja don’t like this

Is it just me or does the female commentator get on your nerves?
Horrible route definitely overcooked and nowonder only one topped otherwise they're just just gonna bang more heads into the roof rafters.
