- This was the maiden flight of my latest design. It was a bit of a mash-up, using existing wings and tail from old models.
It weighs 1.5kg and was flying in about 7-10mph of wind. I feel it will be happier in about 5mph.
The all-moving tail needs changing slightly as it developed some serious flutter if I picked up too much airspeed.
Beautiful and so relaxing. I think watching and listening lowered my blood pressure 10 points. 😊

What Is Islam?

This made me think of my recently deceased friend, one of the boulder shooting victims Denny Stong. He was into RC gliders and such. He had a channel here on youtube called Denny's Models. I just felt the need to share this as I do miss my friend

I sincerely believe that Denny rushed in trying to be the hero that he was, confronted the shooter hand to hand with a small pocket knife in an attempt to save everyone else and ultimately lost the battle.

LOL that's a mashup? So there's no plans? You just eyeballed it together? I thought that was a ground up build from plans.
Mixed elevator and a shorter verticle with just a pinch of rudder clear up flutter? Too much area in front of pivot points?
@@mikeupton5406 I did draw a very basic outline plan for the fuselage, to fit around the wings I already had. I think the flutter maybe because the elevator revolves around a metal spar which has a lot of flex in it. Hopefully I’ll get it sorted....

Much stronger and stiffer in torsion than the pultruded carbon tube. Not that expensive and UK made.
Absolutely wonderful!!!! You make it look so easy, so simplistic!!!! Watching this makes one wonder why everyone isn’t an RC Pilot!!!! Of course my boxes and bags of RC Plane parts answers that question!!!
I love the slow graceful flight. It gives the viewer the opportunity to see every facet of your beautiful construction. The fingertip launches are a bonus. Great job.

Yes the rudder and tail are being operated by the model plane radio control unit ........don't think us humans have mastered telepathy 👍🤔🚀👽
Is there even a tail control? Almost looks like rudder and ailerons/flaps for the vertical control?
@@scottbuck9348 I don’t think this aircraft has ailerons. I believe it is a full flying horizontal stabilizer and a traditional rudder.

Gorgeous video, all the way round. Camera work, editing, choice of music, all stellar. You're getting pretty good at this.
What a unique and beautiful bird you've got there. The shape of the wings, pure elegance. The slightly, pudgy looking fuselage and large rudder give it a definitively playful look. She's quite graceful on the wing, no sense of urgency as she sedately skims, low along the ground. Then headlong over the abyss to carve some pretty little pirouettes. Then finished for the moment, she seems to just step from the air, to rest placidly on the grass, until the next time.

Beautiful to watch John. All that lift from the two wings must help. Almost helicopter-like at times. I remember flying a Cumulus glider on a caravan holiday in the seventies from Porth Beach but the cliff edge there was a bit severe and not easy. Keep the videos coming. It's good for us oldies to reminisce!

Ok John, time to come clean! Where is your balsa factory and where do you keep the army of gnomes who must spend most of their time cutting out wing ribs! You must have close to 100 ribs in that model, all beautifully cut - are they for hire?
