Lets not forget that as recently as the 5th December 2023, this Tory Government led by Sunak voted enmass to delay payments of compensation to the victims. Thankfully 22 Tory MPs broke ranks and voted to support the amendment. So when Sunak is on the airwaves later saying it's disgusting what has happened to these people, just remember he was pushing to delay any compensation.
As a survivor of the contaminated blood disaster we have been listening to lies damed lies and more lies for nearly 50 years. We are never surprised at the depravity of British governments over the years. The post office scandal is just another example of how the UK operates, and always has operated, the people don't matter all that is important is covering up gross ministerial malfeasance.

I didn't see any MP sending letter to the police to PURSUE CRIMINAL CHARGES. Did I?
Same with SPM and PO. Corporate profits/State compensation scheme - again.
No point telling the police they ignore it I've tried getting NHS criminally responsible for GBH on a scandal lasting twenty years.

I think our NHS and government have proved they are willing to set any one up to cover their backs,COVID ,post office ,blood I'd look at nurses cases who were sent to prison as they won't take the blame for anything.
Still reeling from the effects of the HCV I acquired from infected plasma, even though I got rid of the virus itself in 2017!
It's been over 20yrs of trauma and struggle and absolute nightmarish hellish fiasco! That's still ongoing!
I’m currently having to care for my mother who has terminal cancer. I visit her every day in hospital and the incompetence I have witnessed is unbelievable. There is no communication. No leadership. I’m having to do the job of nurses and doctors to make sure my mother is cared for. The NHS in my opinion is no longer fit for purpose in its current state
I had the same experience with my mum and cancer in 2022. The state of care was shocking. I wish I did go to PALS but to be quite honest, I was exhausted and grieving.

I can only imagine how many people died because The Government & NHS wanted to Cover-up incompetence.

I was infected at 14 years old in 1982, I'm fortunate to be here. It's shocking what happened and I'm sure big pharma will be made to pay. The government waste more money on housing illegal immigrants so don't moan if taxpayers pay towards it, I'm a taxpayer too and we all know our money is wasted on many things.

I want to know who was the contractor who sold these products to NHS.
There was no contractor involved in 1975 when I was infected with HCV. It was the NHS and the department for health under the leadership of one Dr David Owen MD MP.
I'm not sure, but a certain well known brand in Germany knowingly sold infected blood products to Latin America and Asia in the 80s.

What all these scandals highlight for me is the utter contempt - the Govt , MPs , the Judiciary , the Civil Service , the Police The Post Office The Water Companies NHS bosses- have for ordinary people. Am i making myself clear -
There are those who were directly responsible who will never be held to account, they have either died, or are in their dotage. We know that there are those in a certain strata in society who never pay the price for their egregious decision making. Compensation, how about imprisonment?

Honestly that a mistake(the blood scandal) happens, it's sad, devastating, horrendous and plainly said criminal, the cover up however is unforgivable... there's no fixing the cover up, it will forever be there as a stain on everything... if they covered that one up, what else have they covered up? The little trust which remained, shattered into small little pieces.
You all trusted them with the vacks, multiple of them too

In my mid 20's (1975) I bought a 100 year old row house & renovated it.
I first started with demolition because one can't build on what was done before...you keep the pieces that work & dispose of the rest.
Britain needs a huge overhaul (renovation)..but it'll never happen when mired in cultural manusia.
Get the influence of the Monarchy, C of E & big money out of politics.
Prosecute those who ‘sabotage’ democracy which is meant to represent all the people equitably.
Put severe limits on wealth accumulation.
Power corrupts, ultimate power corrupts ultimately.
A democracy can only operate when there is accountabilty to the rule of law.
Nobody is above the law.

We've had the blood scandal and cover up ,We've had the covid scandal and cover up the post office scandal and cover up back to the nhs does anything make you think that some of these nurses that have supposedly hurt people and been sent to prison could also be scapegoats for a cover up.

In December 1975 World in Action did an excellent 2 part programme on this very subject.
The then Labour health minister was interviewed Dr David Owen.
The programme went to the USA showed the blood gathering centre's, donors, doctors specialists and recipients.

Currently I'm in a care home in Warwickshire, and they're still pushing me for a DNR, again!

John Glen in his statement to the house says and I quote. " No immediate changes will be made to the existing support schemes, payments will continue to be made at the same level, (until 31st March 2025).
And they will not be deducted from any of these Compensation awards.
From 1st April 2025, any support scheme payments received, will be counted towards the beneficiaries Final Compensation award.
This will ensure parity between support scheme beneficiaries regardless of whether they were the first or the last to have their Compensation assessed by the Infected Blood Compensation Authority and we will ensure that no-one will receive less in Compensation, than they would have, in Support payments.??
What is this guy saying?
In essence according to this statement ,after they receive a full lump sum Compensation payment, do they continue to receive the monthly (index-linked) support payment they get now.
Both schemes (by Sir Brian and Sir Robert Francis stated the monthly support scheme payments were to continue for life even after Full compensation has been made.
According to Glen's statement, will monthly support scheme payments still be made, once Full Compensation is paid beyond April 25 or not?
What about now and past few years ago people's who have been given blood are they been given infected blood should they go to hospital for check up?

Public ownership has nothing to do with it. The private companies in the US who provided the blood and plasma knew that the blood was infected but they did nothing.
Having got rid of the HCV in 2017 my concerns been much more about whether I can recover and how to do that!?

We need legislation which forces politicians and organisations, with threat of imprisonment, to come clean when scandals like this occur. The simple fact is the blood scandal is not a lone occurance. Hillsborough, Orgreave, the post office etc. All concern organisations overseen by government. All kicked into the long grass to save government ministers face or prosecution or financial compensation. I will make a prediction. We will see an MRNA vaccine enquiry in 20 yrs time even though thousands have already been harmed and we simply don't know what long term harm has been done to others
