My friend, You are so interested in hearing yourself talk and just so unterested in yourself it was obvious you really didnt listen to the song. All the pausing too didnt help. Such a message in this song and whoop, over your distracted head. Do better man.
It is probably better to ask for album reaction suggestions, not just songs. As I mentioned previously, there is a generational experience gap. Music fans that weren't "Top 40" pop leaning in the '70s never listened to songs, they dropped the needle and heard a side at minimum and the artists often created music just for these listeners. Dark Side of the Moon (which includes Time) is exactly that. They even take it a step further and tie all the songs together both thematically and musically. It is referred to as a "concept album." The Wall is another concept album that goes even further. This double album is not just musically and thematically connected, it is a complete story that will blow you away. The Wall was also the title of the movie made from that album that was very popular. You can't evaluate these guys with the same measuring stick you are used to, if you want to understand and engage with Pink Floyd's creations.
The main vocals that start the song are David Gilmour, vocalist, godlike guitarist and multi-instrument player. Then the 2nd and 4th choruses are sang by Richard Wright, their keyboardist, flute, violin, drums and bass player. The guy you are referring to as the 'super soft' voice. Richard Wright was probably the most proficient instrument player in the band. Roger Waters, vocalist, bass player and experimentalist of music is the lyricist behind most of their magnificent masterpieces they have produced. And Nick Mason, drummer, isn't flashy but has a timing and beat that keeps the band together. The perfect mix of guys that created IMO some of the best music of the last 50+ years. RIP Syd and Rick.
You won’t need your eyes for the Floyd. They’ll just get in the way. Unless you’re driving, then leave them on. This is an epic album cover to cover. Four highly proficient musicians and a legendary producer. Their peak albums (and a song recommendation from it) were Dark Side of the Moon (Us and Them),Wish You Were Here (Shine on You Crazy Diamond), Animals(Sheep), and the Wall(Hey You). There are another 11 albums and I enjoy at least part of most. Enjoy!
There is 2 people singing lead here too. David Gilmour does the first part of each set, then Richard Wright sings the 2nd verse of each set. He doesn't get soft it is a different singer. Switches from David Gilmour singing to Richard Wright singing. They had 3-4 women singing backing vocals as well. Watch the live version from Pulse and you will see how they switch off.
Lead vocals is David Gilmour. He and Roger Waters sing most of the Pink Floyd songs. David also played the guitar and sang some of the backing vocals. Roger played bass guitar, synthesizer and sang backing vocals. Richard Wright played the organ, electric piano and synth and added backing vocals. Nick Mason played drums. Doris Troy and several others sang backup as well.
David Gilmour lead singer and one of the greatest guitarist on the planet. "Comfortable Numb" must be next. Studio version first, then the epic live Pulse version. Take the journey my friend. You will NOT be sorry. 👍
Pink Floyd is a British Band that started mid 60's Sys Barrett Roger Waters Richard Wright Nick Mason the main band line-up changed at the end of the 60's when Syd dropped out of the band suffering severe mental health issues and the effects of drug abuse and was replaced by David Gilmour
This is off of probably the greatest album ever, "Dark Side of the Moon." an album that spent about 14.5 years consecutively on the Top 200 billboard. It also makes reappearances on the chart off and on since then. It connects to every type of person out there, well most anyway, on such a deep level.
Hi Pzo - There are comments here that are less than thoughtful and it does seem to come from an generational experience gap. Today, the expectation is to get into a hook, beat or splash as soon as possible, so you drive the listener either into, or away from, the song. "Back in the day," it was common to build a composition like this with a thought out, and often extended intro. If/when you learn about what this album and PF in general was about, you will know you have to expect a complete mind conditioning approach to launching many of the songs. These guys were about taking you on an emotional musical ride that does not work as well when you don't immerse yourself in the sounds, as well as the purposeful spaces between them, in the intros. Also, regarding the lyrics, Roger Waters is an iconic writer. A huge part of why PF will live on is because these compositions are relatable to the masses at a relatively deeper level. Once you invest yourself in this catalog, it will be a "go-to" in certain situations, for the rest of your life.
You need to listen to High Hopes , Keep Talking, Coming Back To Life , The Great Gig In The Sky, Comfortably Numb ( Pulse Concert) , Sorrow 😊😊 all bangers.
yeah, lol this music as pre-music videos, so just a heads up, with Floyd, try the least pauses and interruptions, it is the only way to listen to them......if you really want to get what you can't when talking over the first time hearing it...you are missing so much. Sorry to sound fanatical, Floyd music are absolutely not just 'songs' like the shit that gets hella air play. This band created the most beautifully mesmerizing trip to the realm where nothing about ordinary day to day life or ourselves or anybody or anything exists while listening to David Gilmours masterful command of and sheer soul stirring guitar work. Now, there is no mistaking it's Pink Floyd or Gilmour himself when you hear it. He has the innate almost instinctive connection when he plays, it's not another guitar player or another song, he plays that damned Strat like its alive, it sings because he truly seems to have the epic talent to convey whatever state of mind, heart & soul that each tune possesses, it's like experiencing a movie without the visuals, and don't need em either. So this is the only way to appreciate Pink Floyd ..... in a dark room, headphones on, volume high as tolerable, on the floor (I carpeted) laying on your back, cushy pillow under your head and I prefer a a cat snuggled up on me, just be still, quiet and alone, it is the proper way to get what these dudes so painstakingly composed, arranged and engineered with unbelievable skill for us. Nothing done by them was without quality and its obvious. I'm not sure there will ever be music with instruments actually played by a band with so much integrity like this .(lol, wtf is the rationale behind the electronic simulated sounds of real instruments (that still exist)in place of THE instruments?..um....er.......Is it me? am I the only one who sees the recorded tracks of computer programmed and generated 'instruments' now widely accepted as legit, as the reality of have computer, make music, no talent or instruments needed. What is happening???!!!! lol yeah and the audacity for DJs, and most if not all current pop music makers referring to themselves as 'artists'...with a straight face!!!!! No, wrong... unless they mean 'Con Artists" Live music should rattle your bones , guitars pierce your eardrums...etc...sigh.....This hurts my feelings. lol
Ok, so this song is super deep and if you pay a little more attention to the lyrics and not just the instruments, you probably really would have levitated. lol ah well, maybe the next one.
Watch the LFR Family reaction to this song for tips and understanding of what you just heard. A young person today will be best to take it from us old timers that have been profoundly enlightened from this music for 50 years when we say, we already know it’s dope music.
For the life of me I simply cannot understand how people can claim to be reacting to a song when all they are doing is constantly pausing and talking over the music. It's like they prefer the sound of their own voice to the sound of the music that they are meant to be reacting to. I'm outta here!
Is there something wrong with you that you can't sit and listen to the music without constantly burbling away with incessant chatter? Perhaps you have ADD and simply can't pay attention? Plus, FYI, if you listen to top rock bands then you should listen to them via good quality headphones. The way they recorded the music means you get different sounds for each eardrum. Also, by stopping the song and waffling on for two minutes, often about crap that has nothing to do with the actual song!, you destroy the continuity of the sound and the message of the song. So, STOP TALKING OVER THE MUSIC.
I'm sure that you're a great guy - but jeez, this is one of the most annoying reactions of this I've heard - you talk over lyrics, pause every two seconds - not with analysis, but just random comments that could be saved for the end. This band's music will be played two-hundred years from now - right next to Mozart and Beethoven; show it the proper respect!
try not pausing so much and talking during the songs , you'll gain lots more subscribers . oh and get floyd lyric videos . good reaction otherwise brother , keep going .
PLEASE let the damn song play for more than two seconds at a time - guarantee you'll have an easier time locking in!. And - you paused during a solo!! How can you call yourself a guitarist and do something like that - no, no, no!!!
Just So You Know, It's Against The Law To Talk Over Or Pause Any David Gilmore Guitar Solo. It's A Prism Not A Rainbow.
Or to listen without headphone.
Gilmour.
Correct, a rainbow has seven colours not six.
@@psbarrow Whoops 🙂
@@stevecrisell108 No worries, Dave slips me a fiver for every correction of his surname.
You don't need to tell us it's good. Many of us have known it for 50 years.
Well.
The first thing you need to "learn" is to try listening to the song.
Pink Floyd isn’t a “ he “ it’s a band ( now retired ), and a musical experience that should be heard with headphones 🎧 ✌️
My friend, You are so interested in hearing yourself talk and just so unterested in yourself it was obvious you really didnt listen to the song. All the pausing too didnt help. Such a message in this song and whoop, over your distracted head. Do better man.
I lasted 45 seconds before I turned him off

Best reactor?...too much stopping and talking to be good?
LOL, advertising yourself in the middle of reacting to a song. That's a fail.
You paused in Dave's solo..................... bye bye yankee!🏴
Grow up little baby!
Shut up, let the music play. But I know you're a kid.
Don't react to any more Pink Floyd. Stick to Baby Shark and whatnot.
Dude, find a different hobby
