Big bass in the dog days of Summer with swim jigs and swim baits

  • I show how to work both a swim bait and a swim jig on the hot , dog days of summer.! Heavy tackle in the Hydrilla is good insurance! Yes a 10-15 pound line can land the majority of these big bass but that Pb monster can dive down into the thick Hydrilla and break you off! Why take that chance!

    I love how you’re doing all these videos really helpful. I’ve been watching your fishing shows since I was a kid in the 90s. I remember when you came out with the “helicopter lure”. I bought a set and watched your dvd until it skipped so bad I couldn’t watch it anymore. 😅

    You ever go fishing at spot like this where you know fish are and nothing seems to work? I caught a personal best 6 pound bass at Broken Bow lake. The following day I tried using jigs, swim bait, crank bait, whopper plopper, senko worm, and live bait. The water is clear so I could see bass and trout but just couldn’t get them to bite during the 3 hours I fished early morning.

    Hey Roland!! Why is your reel so noisy?

  • @JustinCaudill14
    @JustinCaudill14 4 роки тому +1

    I’ve got a small 2-2 1/4 acre pond that is full of 4+ pounders. People pull several 7 pounders or better every year. It’s a city pond with two big fountains on either side of the center of the pond. There’s a small stream flowing into one of the edges of the pond. It’s no more than 5 ft. deep with a fair amount of wood, some patches of grass a pad or two here & there & maybe some rocks scattered about, there isn’t a great amount of structure & what there is is spread around on the edge of the banks. Any way you can make a video for this type of pond or reply with some advice?! I’m dying to catch some of the monsters that live in that pond!! Sorry it’s so long, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible. Thanks for all you do for the fishing community!! I’ve learned so much from you from the time I started as a beginner!! Much love, respect & appreciation!!

    • @aboveaveragebayleaf9216
      @aboveaveragebayleaf9216 4 роки тому

      There is a difference between cover, and structure. Cover is trees vegetation, docks etc. Things that provide shade/ambush points. Structure is the contours of the bottom. Points, drop offs, creek channels etc. In a more barren pond, they will be relating more to differences in the structure, or the few pieces of cover there might be.
