Your plugins are absolutely fantastic! They are also a lot more affordable compared to something like plus spec. Keep up the incredible work!

I keep trying to further improve them while at the same time keeping the affordable as possible for the DIYer and the professional.

This is an amazing suite of plugins, no doubt about that. My question is when and if the developer takes this to the pro level. Most people looking at this will maybe use it for personal projects but it has the potential to break into the professional workflow space. I really hope it develops into a BIM tool for sketchup. It certainly has the potential and there’s a space in the market for something more economical than let’s say Revit. With that said I love the way the medeek suit has continued to be developed. Keep up the good work and hopefully there will be a pro version someday!

The built-in estimating module already has it moving into the BIM sphere of things. Now I just need to add integrated engineering.

Hi, I can give you an answer out of own experience. I use the Medeek Suite (Wall, Foundation, Truss) for drawing several projects for Architects, from residential to industrial buildings. You can't compare it to Revit, and I think it shouldn't be like Revit. The Medeek Suite is more flexible and I hope it stays like this. That's also the reason to use SketchUp over Autocad, right? It does generate BOM. The plugin does need some development, because with me the drawings get pretty heavy, but I could be the cause myself because of not using it the right way. But all in all, it saves a lot of time, it is fully parametrical and there are so many attributes to change that you can create a solution for almost every situation. Nathan keep up the good work!

@@xtremehelinl Currently the plugins don't deal specifically with generating construction drawings or documents. Usually this is done within Layout (part of the SketchUp installation). However, there is no API currently for Layout so there is no way for me to automate this process. It is currently up to the user to create their own scenes and construction drawings within Layout. Also there really is no one way or right way to do this in my mind, the number of SketchUp to Layout workflows is a numerous as there are SketchUp users.

I’m fond of superlatives; I’m an architect after all. Creativity sometimes comes faster that the ability to get it on paper. Nathan’s suite of plug in’s represent a quantum jump in design productivity. I’m an 80’s something retired architect, schooled and practiced way before digital technology became a thing - when we used to frustrate ourselves with programming our Atari’s with something akin to FORTRAN in order to spend hours just laying out a building envelope. Those exercises made traditional pencil and eraser drawing and revision look welcoming. Got a better idea on function or aesthetics? These plug-in’s have turbo charged the design process to make revisions actually pleasurable - and in minutes, not days. Who could disagree with that?

I have been using all the plugins except the electrical one for a couple years now. Actually drew up a few houses including my personal house I’m building now. It has been a joy! They keep getting better.

Don't you hate it when a product you have been buying for years is replaced by the manufacturer with something of lesser quality. That is one of my pet peeves. That being said my goal is to make these plugins get better and better, not the other way around. Keep sending in any suggestions, I really enjoy adding new capabilities to the plugins.

If you have the patience to actually view this video from start to finish and watch me fumble my way through trying to create a wall manually in SketchUp, I sincerely applaud you. Re-watching the video, it is almost painful to watch.

The real time savings with the Medeek Wall Plugin comes when you are hit with a change(s) by your customer and you can then quickly edit the design and push it back out to them. I probably didn’t speak to this as directly as I should have.
