This is Olympic weightlifting gold! Thank you for posting this. I took a 7 year hiatus from lifting to compete and coach archery (hence the name of the page) and slowly getting back into it and coaching Oly again. The similarities to the two disciplines is incredible. "It's all about angles" Thank you @Crossfit Mayhem
My coaches eye spotted the guy at 36:53 green shirt high hang power snatching- not muscle. BUT thanks for sharing this, always need a refresher. Her energy is amazing, look forward to do a class eventually!
Love seeing these videos when they come out, such great information! Something I’ve noticed on all of these videos is the input gain on her mic needs to be brought down a bit. It felt like it got a bit better as the video went along, but I’ve noticed it on every video with Sage. Sorry if that’s an annoying comment!
Awesome video as always with these sessions w/ Sage but curious on what Sage and the rest of you guys at Mayhem think about Dmitry Klokov (and a bunch of other European lifters I've seen) who teach more of the technique and cue to ACTUALLY hit the bar off the hips (more specifically the pubic bone) ? At @4:36 Sage mentions that you don't bang the bar on your hips and it's more of a jump. ua-cam.com/video/JrYeWUPLN24/v-deo.html - Here's a video of Klokov teaching to directly hit the bar. For sure at the end of the day, it's probably just different teaching styles - lots of respect for all you guys, huge fan for a long time - just curious on your guys' thoughts? Cause I've found the Klokov cue worked way better for me in terms of exploding and getting under the bar. When I see people have the cue of "jumping" I've seen them "jump" and let the bar collapse back down on them as opposed to getting under it as fast as possible (if that makes sense).
In other sessions that Sage has run for Mayhem, she said 'bar doesn't move towards the hip the hip moves toward the bar. It’s because when you jump, the hip will automatically move towards the bar naturally as long as the bar is moving in a straight line.
@enriquealedius I'm just trying to improve my lifting, very novice at it, as Coach B (Sages' dad) is the OG of Olympic Lifting I am going to follow this for the next few years. I know Sonny Webster (from the UK) has programs out for lifting, and I think I will only get confused. If he is teaching the same, then may as well stay where I am.
The fact that this is free is crazy. Every CF coach should watch this. Thanks for the awesome educational video.

@@caseytemoananui8322 nice! thanks - appreciate the clarity there
@enriquealedius you should check her other sessions. She explains it much better than I.
@@caseytemoananui8322 oh I watch anything/everything mayhem puts out lol - was just curious on different coaching styles
