  • Thanks for watching! I'd love feedback regarding the style of the video, tell me what you prefer in terms of longer videos, do you prefer the instructional style or do you rather shorter to the point videos with less information.
    I make a lot of mistakes removing the fuel sender, but I figure it is better to be transparent and show the struggles I had in hopes it will help you by learning from my mistakes.
    Cheers! Finndawg.

    Great video, bit jealous, I've just swapped my tank... in the UK, outside in the pissing rain and cold. Everything rusty and shit dropping in my face. I do like the welding hack too.

    THanks for the video mate. Going to try this on my 98 Ford Courier. Original 2.5L NA Diesel now running a 2.8 intercooler turbo off an Isuzu. Was hoping i could reach the sender without dropping the tank but now it appears, there's no way around it but to drop the darn tank.

    Fantastic vid, many thanks, camera work is good enough for me, I like the instructional style, long format is good for me, and the mistakes are important for me to know what problems I might encounter. I'm going to drop the tank on mine. I enjoyed watching your welding hack that was genius! It's so rare to find an Aussie posting a good video on couriers.

    Oh, and as for your question, I prefer more detailed videos than short ones. However, I'm guilty of showing most of what I've done to mine after the fact. I need to start taking time to put a bit more interesting, useful info in my videos.

    Hey just found your video. Where did you get your fuel sending unit from? Looking at replacing mine in a b2500 4x4 and can't see any online. My fuel gauge works until half a tank then drops to empty.

    best thing to use on those shagged screws is a manual impact driver, I reccomend the Koken Attack driver, got me out of many a shitty screw

  • @Finndawg
    @Finndawg  2 роки тому

    I didn't show it, though before I did anything I emptied the fuel tank of any fuel, so I'm not welding on a tank with fuel in it.
    Cheers! Finndawg

    "Do not try this at home. This man is a professional stunt welder and is working under controlled conditions".
    I don't think I'll use this method on my ULP tank...LOL. I will add that when I had to replace my filler hose, I had the tray off and cleaned everything up on the tank. Other than dust and dirt build up, it was pretty dry and clean. No rust.

    • @Finndawg
      @Finndawg  Рік тому +1

      Hahahaha I still can't believe the decisions I make sometimes, yeah I definitely would never do it on a petrol tank. Well that's good, dirt and dust is one thing, rust is a whole other demon

      @@Finndawg Yeah, I'm pretty lucky. I don't think this thing went on a dirt driveway, let alone a dirt track in its life. That'll change before the end of the year.

    where is the fuel pump on this pickup ...please ... thanks

    • @Finndawg
      @Finndawg  Рік тому

      Hey mate, the fuel pump is on the right-hand side of the engine directly below/adjacent to the air intake manifold. It is a mechanical fuel pump and there are no electronic pumps attached to them. The petrol however would most likely have a pump inside of the fuel tank, though I have no experience with them.
