Many people didn't understand Rocky's mindset properly. Judging by the director's way of storytelling, Rocky's character is written in a way where he doesn't want his enemies to know that the girl is his weakness. That's why he put up an act like he's taking her for selfish reasons.
Now I understand.
Mr.Neel, the director said in an interview that he is not so happy about calling Reena as "entertainment" in the meeting.. Mr. Neel confessed that the dialogue was poorly written and could have been better here..
this movie is a scam. 0 entertainment, 0 story, 0 acting, only bgm and 50 intro videos of characters. 2nd movie even bigger scam with a story that made as much sense as a pizza without cheese.

I think maybe you guys missed the point of the chess analogy. It's a beautiful analogy in which he's basically telling the imprisoned vanaram that only positions are permanent not people. So just because your old boss is dead doesn't mean you should also ride or die for him, instead of trying to kill me and end up dead you can serve me. And he basically shows trust when he hands him a gun pointed at him meaning that I know you're not dumb enough to kill me because you have a lot more to gain by working for me. Also they're not going supernatural, it's a metaphor. Sanjay Dutt's character is just assumed to be dead but as it turns out, he's not.

It's been a while since i saw KGF 2, but there is a noticable difference in how Rocky is presented in both films. I think that was a deliberate choice. Because the first movie is narrated by Anand, he saw Rocky as a hero, as an icon and hence even thought he did bad things, he was ultimately seen as a force of good. Second movie is narrated by Anand's son(played by Prakash Raj). Thing is while Anand spent all his life researching this story, his son hated Anand for it because he was never there as a father, and so you see more cynicism in his narration, that is why Rocky feels more evil.. He is still badass, but at points he just feels like the lesser evil is no longer lesser. After all, a story is only as reliable as it's narrator
Good thought.. What scenes in part 1 and part 2 made you think that Rocky was narrated as a hero by Anand Ingalagi in part 1 and was narrated as villain in part 2 by his Anand 's son..?
Reason for asking this is because, I felt that Rocky was not glorified nor portrayed as bad in both the parts, but an effort was taken to narrate the story from neutral stand point and allowed the audience to take Rocky as a hero or a villain..
Reasons: 1. Part 1 opens by showing the death penalty scene to the biggest criminal in India.
2. Anand narrated younger rocky, middle aged rocky and grown up rocky showing only the facts of his past and his promise which was true but not by judging him for his actions.. Anand is very sensible to write a book on rocky and publishing it only after he witnessed rocky if he was truly a monster or an emotional man by himself. Anand changed his opinion by calling rocky from gangster to a History.. He was true to his conscience to call Rocky as a history for his actions only and not a hero..
Anand's son also pretty much narrated story in the same line after he started the narration.. Bcoz he wanted to give justice to his dad's work of 30 years by narrating it in his dad's view point only.. That's why the screenplay doesn't have the influence of Prakash Raj.. It is nicely knitted to ensure that Prakash Raj's opinion on rocky is never disclosed but the opinion on his father was disclosed.. PR never called rocky as bad in literal sense.. Rocky was shown as a bad ass who beated the asses of bad ppl but he is still narrated as an emotional human being and good soul by showing how much he loved his mom, his girl and how he called women as goddess.. So, who is judging rocky..?? Anand Ingalagi or his son PR or us..?
@@YogeshGowdaKeepRocking Honestly most of part 1 is building him up to be the lovable villain.. the lesser of two evils if you will. The way that Anand narrates the story of Rocky, he constantly jumps back and forth in time to give us various accounts of people seeing Rocky as a God. You don't really see him failing at all(Now this could be the evil of a mass entertainer, but humor me here).. Even the one time where he lost to Garuda, Anand made sure to specify how it was his plan all along to get Garuda where he is invincible. The stories in the slave camp where the madman narrates the story of a Hero rising up to save the populace. It is all over the film. Compared to it, Second movie is more trying to put facts as is, with very little embellishment. Also it is very subtle but you start seeing Rocky as the King of the Hill, as the ruler of KGF. While still the hero to his people, you start to see cracks in his persona. Excellent example is him rushing the people to mine all the gold. Also in the second movie, Rocky actually falls.. He is almost dead at one point, that is something Anand doesn't entertain in his narration. The way I see it is Anand sees Rocky as the Knight in Shining armor, if a bit flawed. Prakash Raj sees him as a Misunderstood Human, who does great things, but also doesn't shy from showing you the ugly sides of Rocky.
Remember, in the start of the movie, Deepa Hegde has the book in her hand but she still wants to listen to Anand narrate the story. The whole story of KGF is just a narration by the author, a credible source sure but embellished because this is Anand's life's work. Prakash Raj is a different source, he didn't write the story, he has just either read it or heard his father's account of the story(I don't remember which is the case), so he is bound to have a different aspect of narration. Also like I mentioned, he hated the fact that he had to grow up without a father because of this stupid story. So it does still play into the narration, not by much admittedly but enough that you can notice it

At 6:04 we can see rocky going around her in the same way as he first saw her in Bangalore its like going into the past recalling the moments and showing the love. They love each other, Reena never expressed her love to rocky in front of him, so rocky doesn't know about that. But the reason behind mentioning her as entertainment is that Rocky loves her and everyone there knew about it. So rocky doesn't want to show his weakness, Once they know his weakness it becomes easy for them to target right. So thats the reason he brings reena to KGF so that she is safe.
then why when the children are playing at the staircase reena asks 'Rocky, rocky, rocky, whats so good abotu him?' i mean it looks like she didnt like him back then, while in kgf 1 its implied that she did
and about the weakness part the scenes between them after that don't translate well, reena doesn't know why he behaved like that if he loved her with misundewrstanding in that case so i dont think thats the case even though thats more ideal
Yeah at that scene she is mad on him. She acts like she is mad at him we can see that even at the helicopter scene. But if you see clearly the dress she wore at that time is given by rocky when he shows her the room and all the accessories even the dresses the yellow one highlights more...They have love but cant show it

So now the children perform a skit to recap the first half of what rocky did and she starts falling for him again completely forgetting how he literally kidnapped her and restricted her from leaving his place, and also being called 'entertainment' and when someone questioned why she is brought then him replying 'to keep her'

Steph and Andrew are a great duo for a movie reaction. No one on UA-cam has a better chemistry then them.
The brilliance of the movie lies in the fact that a certain section of viewers don't like it at all while the larger audience is passionate about it to it's core😂😂
Kudos to the director as a grey character like Rocky deserves both the opinions.
Sanjay dutt left kgf for Garuda in the first part. As he said he won't reclaim as long his brother is ruling. But when he heard the news that Garuda is no more he came back.

Let's be honest you won't love KGF2 as much you loved 1st part because of its story arc in KGF1 but it's actually a good sequel with better quality/production value specially cinematography,visuals,songs,set design's , action scenes.This was written as only a one film but due to long runtime they decided to shoot it in 2 parts,that helped them to elaborate things more.
One should not expect part 1 kinda story because KGF2 story is itself narrated in last few minutes of 1st part i.e; How Rocky rules KGF & tackles his enemies that comes his way.
Those fools who call it tik tok reel won't understand it's fast paced film like 1st part.😅they just know criticizing a film,no need to worry about them, you'll like it for sure.
Bro actually I think that kgf 2 could have been even 10 times better than kgf 1 if makers didn't think of making a universe .....as they wanted to make universe, they decided to set up things for future instead of wrapping the things.....or else kgf 2 would definitely surpass kgf 1 vibes 😌

In fact, I also don't like most of South blockbusters especially Telugu. But KGF being a Kannada film, is a rare movie which was written smartly & executed in a mass appealing way.
