Drinking lukewarm water is actually pretty common in a lot of asian countries. I remember when i was in China and ordered a glass of water it came lukewarm. It's because it's better for your stomach, helps with digestion and absorbtion of nutrients. As someone who also always drinks water super cold it was a bit weird at first but i got used to it very quickly and i do think it helped because i didn't have indigestion once while i was there.
