I was drawn to this video as I am about to undergo patch testing for dishydrotic hand eczema that has plagued me for over 6 years. I highly suspect nickel as I have reaction to metals, so I am online looking up low nickel diet today...this video was helpful-thank you!! Off to get my Vitamin D :)
I broke out into eczema for the first time 8 months ago after switching to a new face wash. My eczema is manageable now, but comes back in the same certain spots on my face any time I don’t properly wash my face (not with that cleanser that sparked it) and heavily moisturize with a specific natural product. Help. Why is this happening?
Sunflower oil is high PUFA and oxalate and allergenic. Coconut oil will make a rash worse if it's caused by yeast. Just FYI in my case. Every case is individual and some are less allergic.
I actually have not found clinically that coconut oil makes yeast-triggered rashes worse. But there are a growing number of allergies to it because of how much it is being used. While yes, sunflower oil is a PUFA, research shows it can be beneficial for topical use. Anything can be an allergy for someone so it's important to customize what you use based on your own body and how it reacts to different things
Used cortizone 10 for years. Now I can’t be without it or I break out head to toe in a giant rash. Oozing, open wounds, absolute misery.:( have 3 small kids so I can’t withdraw from it, I tried and it was too painful
I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you suspect that your skin and body have become addicted to the steriod? Topical steroid withdrawal can be really rough. I've covered the topic a number of times on the show here www.skinterrupt.com/?s=topical+steroid+withdrawal
Glad to hear that, but it can be a challenge long term. There are so many non-food related triggers for DE that may yield better, lasting results. I had DE so I'm well aware of the pain and symptoms associated with it. I don't avoid any nickel foods and have no DE at this point. We also have many clients whose DE resolves without the need to restrict food
Hi Jennifer I have a nickel allergy.....is there a cure for this, just 2 days ago I broke out in rash all over my joints ankle, elbows, knees and arms too
Hope you enjoyed this episode! I'd love to hear what you thought. Leave your comments + questions below :) And if you want more information on this topic, check this out → www.skinterrupt.com/?s=Eczema

Is coconut oil and sunflower oil safe for nickel allergy I've read a few places to not use them. It's so confusing.

Foods in high nickel caused my Dyshidrotic. Since I’ve eliminated those foods, I’ve seen a big improvement.

Can you please tell me how to heal that condition without food restrictions?

I'm not an allergist so I can't answer that question. I honestly don't know.
I would love to chat with you
About nickel in food or your skin issues in general?
