WHAT DOES GAITED MEAN?! A gaited horse is a horse that moves each leg independently. Doing so allows one foot to constantly be on the ground, allowing the horse to conserve more energy than they would while trotting. Gaited horses are used for traveling as they have greater stamina and endurance. To put it simply a gaited horse, moves like a regular horse does at a walk, it places all four feet down independently, the difference is in the upper speeds, the next speed for a trotting horse is a trot, and for a gaited horse it is just a faster walk, and some gaited horses can walk so fast that even the trotting.
Thank you so much for explaining this again in a way I could understand. This finally makes sense to me. Are horses trained to be gaited, bred that way or perhaps a little of both?
I really appreciate how supportive and positive you are! One of the things that made me stop riding as a kid was how much pressure my trainer put on me to win and perform. So happy to see everyone enjoying their day!
They all did great, horses and riders. And didn't Zazu take it all in his little gaited stride. He looks to be a lovely chilled individual. If he were mine I'd be fizzing inside with glee for picking such a winner to compliment a great team.
I love how positive you are with your students. I always hated seeing trainers that were negative. Like it's ok to be critical without riding their students case, but you have such an awesome attitude. Please never stop
Congratulations everyone!! I'm proud of you all!! From a Retired Paramedic, and a S&R Dog and Handler Team Trainer,Horse Trainer and FEI Coach and Judge from Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 🇨🇦🇺🇲
Your mare Figura (spelling?!) is a wonderful example of how your kind, gentle manner and knowledge of horses turned this frightened, pained mare into the sweet, calm and happy horse she is today. You really are a wonderful example of horsemanship not only to your students but to the UA-cam viewers as well.
Just love your goals as an instructor. I still remember removing my daughter from a trainer that encouraged competition between his students! Ugh. Riding and showing should above all else be fun!!! I loved being show moms with a friend at the local 4H shows. Our girls regularly shared outfits and tack for the classes, laughing all the while!
Your students are sooooo lucky!! Not only do you give them the opportunity to show and have fun with your horses (which all look amazing) but you also install good horsemanship skills something that not other instructors do . Congrats to all!!!
This is what showing is all about. Not only having fun and learning but good sportsmanship also. Shea you are an amazing instructor for these young riders. ❤
Look at Zazu - he is a true gem! Your students and all of the horses did great. Bagheera is absolutely stunning. She doesn’t look like 28 at all. She truly has had a very blessed second chance with you!
I love your attitude to your students and to your horses; kindness, encouragement and fostering real enjoyment of being with your horse. Your horses and your pupils are lucky to have you.
I was a horse show judge for many years judging open shows as well as breed shows all over the country. Judged a number of times in Michigan. I really appreciate seeing the positive attitudes of your students and your horses. It's obvious that it comes from you. Everyone likes to be recognized with a ribbon but the emphasis you put on just having a good time, enjoying the time spent with your horse is so important. You're doing a great job!
If the parents of those girls are there, they will be very proud. And the reason is that you are teaching them all very well.🥰 And they have so much fun😊
I love how smooth his gait is. When I purchase a horse again, I need a gaited horse! I have some nerve issues where a trot and me no longer work well together. It looks so comfortable to ride! I’d also like to add that your students appear so kind! I grew up showing mostly in Berrien County Michigan, and there were an insane amount of horse snobs back then. Not just snobs but all around rude and mean. Not that you can tell by video, but I am sure your amazing attitude rubs off on your students!
I really love to see that you attend shows but your first priority is always fun and your students and horses being a good team. They all did an amazing job! ♥
Penelope's tail is just going and going.. she is happy 🥰 Your horses do so well in all sorts of situations, you do a fantastic job of preparing them for all sorts of situations. I loved how they all justbstood there, unfazed by the train!
I just started watching a few months ago and young lady you are an inspiration! It is amazing how your heart is is so dedicated to your animals and all of your students! Showing the world you don’t have to have the most expensive horse to show. If you put in the work and dedication you can make a difference in a horses life. The confidence you are building for all of your students will last a lifetime and they will never forget you! I could go on and on why I applaud you!! And I cannot forget that absolute gem of a husband you have. Not only does he agree to your dream he is right there by your side helping you live it. You are a awesome team. Thanks for the great videos and all that you do for your corner of the world! Rachel
Congratulations to your riders. I could hear the pride in your voice. Everyone was enjoying themselves. The horses all looked great! Bagheera is so beautiful, I'm in love! 😍
I don’t know much about horses but Bagheera looks so interested and engaged with everything going on, she just looks really happy. ❤ They’re all lovely horses but she just warms my heart.
I love how your students ride! No one is hanging on the horses mouth. You can tell they are taught correctly and with respect for the horse. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
That was fun to watch. I’m proud of you, your riders, and your horses. Bageera is such a beauty. She’s caught my heart for a long time now. Zazu did so well for his first show!
Thank you for allowing your viewers to go to the show!!❤ The students looked so sharp! All of the horses seemed to understand it, and enjoyed the day too! Very smart ! Thank you!
Bagheera looks absolutely STUNNING! You could never guess how old that beautiful girl is by looking at her, because she's had such amazing care from you! Bagheera will have a fulfilling live with you and I'm so happy to see that her age hasn't affected just how much she's loved throughout her life. Not to even mention just how well you care for each and every one of your horses and students. Thank you for sharing this with your viewers. ❤

What fun, Shae! Each of the four horses is special -- but this time there was something about Jimminey that made me grin. He is such a Big Boy, but is an absolute Angel also. Wahoo! 🤠🐴🐴🐴🐴💓
If I didn’t know better, I would think that Baghera is about five years old. She looks phenomenal. All of your young riders did a great job. Showing really makes you focus on what you have learned. Congratulations to all.
