      The main story editor (also a producer) of the show stated that "LP has had many significant others, every relationship was great and loving and ended incredibly amicably, and everyone he's dated is a better person for having dated Launchpad."

      @@MAlanThomasII And for that, I completely agree. I only state that I like Soos more because... well, I personally liked Soos more.
      But LP is still a fantastic character and an essential component of DT2017 -- if anything, even more than DT1987, which speaks to the fact that his originally just replacing Donald in a lot of stories which were adapted from the comics... he's better when he and Donald can coexist and be their own people. Both are different representations of the Heart; Launchpad is the all-loving, positive inspiration, Donald is the conscience and the put-upon everyman who still sacrifices everything for his family.

      So, if anyone doesn't understand the reference (no show spoilers) there used to be a reoccurring mistake in Donald Duck comics where the artist would accidentally draw a fourth triplet because he was so used to drawing three identical ones. A fan wrote-in and asked about this. The artist explained the mistake, but joked that it was the secret fourth nephew "Phooey Duck." Fans have referred to the accidental fourth triplet as Phooey Duck ever since.

    • @radicaladz
      @radicaladz 2 місяці тому +6

      Huey being the 'rules' guy of the trio means he sadly doesn't get to be as directly tied into overarching plots or inciting incidents like Dewey and Louie will, but Danny Pudi really nails his vibe - it's got some of the same DNA as Abed from Community but is recognisably different.

    • @borjankosarac3645
      @borjankosarac3645 2 місяці тому +2

      If anything, I’d say that Dewey’s shtick easily grows old, or at least overdone, and it (very rarely) makes him insufferable several times. My favourite is Huey, but of them all Louie gets the lion’s share of actual character development…

    • @radicaladz
      @radicaladz 2 місяці тому

      @borjankosarac3645 - Dewey definitely has big protagonist energy - he is constantly jumping at the call to adventure, which can be a good plot motivator, but the mystery surrounding *spoilers* does bring out some interesting nuance for him.

    • @borjankosarac3645
      @borjankosarac3645 2 місяці тому +1

      @@radicaladz It's more when Dewey does stuff like... what he does in TDKR in mid-Season 2. Or, the one with the lion guy mid-Season 3... Small stuff, but which makes him kind of annoying in the moment... adds up. I actually like what they do with the bigger-picture for him more, and that includes how inward-focused he gets in the Season 1 finale... especially how he treats different members of his family.
      Because his brothers, his uncle(s), how he views each of them and how he treats them, what he expects of them and how he has to recognise his own feelings aren't an objective truth... That stuff, I live for. He's still my least-favourite, but that's a personal thing; I just like Huey best, and Louie second-most of them, I'm not saying they're ACTUALLY better in any critical lens.

      Webby said in season 1 that Scrooge hatched in 1867, which lines up with his date of birth in the old comics. That would make him 150 in 2017.
      This season might take place in 2015, however, even though the season began airing in 2017. Frank Angones confirmed after season 2 that Donald is 36. We know from a couple lines at the end of season 2 that a year had gone by since the start of the series, meaning he'd have been 35 at the start. Frank also said Donald is about 7 years older than Launchpad, and according to Launchpad's driver's license, he was born in 1987, which would have meant Donald was born in 1980, which to be 35 at the start of the show would've made it take place in 2015, which would make Scrooge 148 in season 1.
      Not sure how "A lotta people did the math" and concluded a duck born in 1867 would be 153 in 2017.

    Launchpad is an extremely divisive character, to the surprise of no one. He's made even more impossibly dumb than in the original series, because that's Beck Bennet's whole schtick on SNL, and a character that works in singular sketches isn't always suited to always being around in an episodic show like this. As someone who is currently on my 9th rewatch of DuckTales, my favorite show ever, I have to highly recommend to *not* watch this in Production Order and to instead watch it in Airing Order, how the episodes were dropped to the world. I can see why from an outside perspective, it'd be wisest to start with the way the show's creators intended for you to watch it, but trust me when I say that this is one of those rare times where the creators are wrong about their own show, in the sense that they can't enjoy it as a viewer and understand what that experience is like.
    In the various ways I've watched this, along with new people each rewatch, Airing Order has always ensured the most engaging, most attached, and most captivating experience of the show. It's had people hooked and made them fans. Every time Production or Disney+ Order was tried, the people I was watching it with ended up dropping the show because it just didn't hook them. All us fans from when the show was airing got hooked exactly from that order. That airing order. I don't even necessarily think the Airing or Production Order are *too* different, but the results speak for themselves.
    The way the channel released them despite the Production Codes is just the prime way DuckTales is meant to be watched, and it's not something the producers are going to understand because they've advocated for their intended order to be the official way on all of Disney's platforms. It's not like there's egregious episode discrepancies via Airing Order, either. No drastic differences. The season finale still comes at the end, the story beats are still told when they're supposed to be, and everything remains in chronological order from a plot standpoint by just watching Airing Order. If you didn't know about it from people talking about what the creators wanted, you wouldn't even be able to tell that the Production Codes of episodes are not in meticulous order.
    I'd recommend going in Airing Order from whatever point you're at forward. I love this show to bits, and as a fan that's ran through watching this with a variety of people, I just have to put out there that Airing Order is the prime way to experience this show, despite what you've heard from people advocating for the producers' intentions.

    Just an FYI in case you’re bothered by it Mosco, but the larger story arcs of this show will often sit for multiple episodes at a time; this is a show that mixes the self-contained, character-building “one-off” stories with the larger narrative. So we’re going to be slow-burning this candle… Thankfully since the show is complete, you don’t have to deal with the frustration a lot of fans who were impatient for progress dealt with; hope you enjoy this ride!

    Well this is a mixed up order. Episode 3 should be the Great Dime Chase. You know I forgot this was technically a Christmas episode, send some using them as the basis for a timeline throughout the entire series. Which means the triplets are 10 in this episode, there will be 11 the next Christmas episode and then 12 for the third.
    Personally I find the list where the Dime Chase as episode 3 as a more cohesive storyline for the series.
    By the way the episode that's called the Beagle Boys Birthday bash you should have Elijah over. There's a character intro that you to should be together to watch.
    Additional.
    Not to be a bother, but I had to go and look to confirm the order of the episodes. If what you're watching has been done by Disney channel then they're screwing it up.
    Like Amphibia and The Owl House there's a lot going on with DuckTales in such a way that is not episodic it's actually a visible progressive continuity. Given the release year DuckTales probably set the foundation for all the shows we have come to enjoy on Disney that have a set storyline.
    For the best viewing of this series here's the episode list. I look forward to seeing your reaction videos to my favorite episodes.

    Less of a spoiler & more of a neat detail you could probably notice right away.
    Each of the three triplets has an aspect of Scrooge they respect Scrooge for.
    Hewey is the knowledge hangering bookworm that strives to make the unknown known,
    Dewey is the daredevil who wants nothing more than to become a legend that took on the impossible,
    & Louie is the sceamer who likes money, but not the work needed to earn it.
    As for Webey? Girl, Scrooge & all things Clan McDuck are her hyperfixation. She researches Scroge's history with enough gusto to make the FNaF fanbase think she's going overboard.

    9:17: OK, if that’s George Mallardy, here’s _my_ question:
