Thank you for ALL of these videos. We live half a mile above Poorman turn off. We could not find any news of Fourmile until we came across your videos on UA-cam. Thank you, Thank you
Anyone can operate an excavator, just like playing video games, the difference is training and this fellow certainly this was his first time dealing with a blocked stream. The bucked clears the canal perpendicular to the water flow pulling the rocks and sand towards the excavator, advancing one bucket width each time.
This crew of professionals , diligently took great care for the environment and removed the rubble In the River and correctly handled the situation. Great job 👍.thank you
These folks are clueless as to what the hell they are doing. That operator is just throwing that bucket around like crazy. He has no idea what he's doing.
@Mikey Temple You're comparing trying to help with flooding to an average day on a job site? You seem like the type that would refuse to help in an emergency unless you were getting paid some exorbident wage. You're right about one thing though, I'm not an operator. I'm the tech that fixes the equipment after the operators are done beating the crap out of it. Do me a favour and pick up a grease gun next time you do your pre-trip inspection and actually use it.
Okay, I understand what he is up to. He isn't relieving flooding where he is digging, building a dam and all, but he is digging deeper into the creek to increase the flow to relieve flooding up stream. My older brother and I used to do this same thing back when we were boys playing with our Tonka Toys. We would then go to hang off the sides of our bunk bed pretending to be lineman working on the electrical lines.
My cousin Wesley Quinlan was killed when his car was swept off the road & turned upside down in the creek. His girlfriend was killed after escaping the car only to drown in the raging water. Wesley got out of the car to help her & they were both found the next day. This is my Facebook posting... Wesley Quinlan 2013 My heart is full of pride & sadness with the loss of our cousin taken so young. Wesley showed his true mettle and proved he was the best of this strong family when tragedy struck. It is hard to understand this loss but I am comforted knowing there is another hero in heaven looking over us! My thoughts and prayers are with Ron, Glenda, Wayne, Sue & the entire Quinlan family.
I lived in Four Mile Canyon when I went to college in Boulder. After a heavy rain, I would watch Boulder Creek and Four Mile Creek rise. But it was nowhere near this much!! This backhoe operator is a damn fine worker, IMHO. It looks like he is really getting the job done.
What a cool video, that guy has played in the river more than once. B-) I like how he worked the angle gradually instead of building a fast hard wall that would get blown out in about five minutes. Never get greedy.... Nice job keeping the video solid, I know how hard that can be on a long video.
I have a desk job so I don't try to sound like I am an expert in driving excavators..... I'm just saying that. No names mentioned... Instead I really admire those who have such skills of coordination that they can do what is shown in this video. Good video, thanks for posting it.
The loader coming down and dumping a few rocks had me wondering what was the point? I'd say the contractor boss has seen this vid and wondered same. Lovely work by excavator driver.
it's so the water doesn't erode the highway, notice how he's dumping right on the edge of the pavement? it's so water doesn't erode the soil and get underneath and rip up the road
This has been on my front page of suggested videos for WEEKS now and i've finally thought "If i watch this will it finally f**k off my youtube page...... ............to be honest i'm very glad i watched it! That guy sure knew what he was doing!
meanwhile I have to cover dirt piles with plastic, straw all exposed dirt use catch basin socks and silt fence from prop corner to prop corner so no sediment gets into the local streams.
I remember when this happened it took all that flood water about 3 days to work its way down into Arizona in morenci in particular I remember it raise a whole lot of hell in San Francisco River
Just curious. putting a tractor like that which has trax on it like this one does, the water wont rust out those trax right, and you are right, that operator is very good working that machine
Respect for the guy in the water, I mean I can't so don't listen to those word,s from other people just Rock 😂 your thing greetings from The Netherlands ✌ Bro Take care and stay Healthy
That's not a backhoe, its an excavator, and there's lots of really good operators in Colorado. Can't imagine such a disaster happening anywhere other that the People's Republic of Boulder.
Unbelievable how good such an excavator can drive though rivers. With a regular car it would have been dodgy to drive through the water on the road already, and that excavator just drives upstream though the middle of the current :-)
About 80% of your property taxes go to Schools, teachers pensions etc - this is funded by generally 1% of it & makes life easier for moving about. Food for thougt
austin obviously dont know Jack about colorado. Tons of gold came out of that area and all the way down to denver . Mining continues today. So yes. You do bull. Shit.
hey shaky Ken, if you're ever unsure of what to focus on, just do like you do and swing the camera back and forth, making the view think he can decide. I thought I needed glasses, now I know I do.
What I’ve come to realize on these UA-cam recommendations (mainly plumbing or big machinery being used) is that 70 percent of the people commenting are professionals apparently.
darkslayer1000000 Apparently you know nothing about writing comments. (Just joking around.) I completely agree with you. But It’s more like 90-95 percent of people are pros commenting about how it’s being done wrong.
Now if I'm not mistaken, he has to drain and replace all the fluids in the tracks or is it different because their run by planetarys, could anyone let me know if I am wrong. Im only familiar with tractors and farm equipment, not 100% sure how these drivetrains are.
Nah, shouldnt do. Planetaries in the track motors are sealed up pretty good. Gotta change the oil in the track gear every coupla hundred hours anyway. Kinda like diff oil in a rear axle.
Looks like fun! When I was a kid I really liked digging in streams of water trying to make them change direction, or build small dams
Thought I was the only one
hard to believe i used 14 minutes to watch this , and the most amazing part is that i have enjoyed watching !
He is so gentle when he empties the bucket. I bet he is a great lover.

it look like they just dont have any idea what they're doing or what to do more than just keep digging at the same spot
The little one at 7:40... "Look dad, i'm helping too! Look what I brought! Look!", so adorable.
D
😆 10:58 are there just no more rocks for it to pick up?
Worthless as a screen door on a submarine!
the loader operator is certainly getting massive bucket loads to help
There would be a reason behind that one... such as clearing debris from further up the road.
Yeah I could carry more on a shovel... And quicker
These folks are clueless as to what the hell they are doing. That operator is just throwing that bucket around like crazy. He has no idea what he's doing.
When's the last time you tried to redirect a river oh mighty keyboard warrior? They at least accomplished more than some jerk on the internet.
@Mikey Temple

Exactly
Welcome to the world of building, by accident or design the outcomes the same, lucky

GREAT video, what they do is a craft, true experts....
Very skillful operator with an eye for the big picture.
great machines and extremely skilled operators,i remember reading/hearing about this flood
These guys are horrible 🤦🏼♂️
Nice machine and an Excellent Operator!
I love seeing the amazing things that big equipment can do.
3 decent machines and only 1 has a productive plan that will actually work.. 😂
why am I here? How did I get here? And why have I been watching this for 5 minutes?
Is it just me or could the loader operator move more with a tea spoon.
10:50 WOOOWW....that really helped there buddy
Dream job right there. I would love to do that kind of work
What a cool video, that guy has played in the river more than once. B-) I like how he worked the angle gradually instead of building a fast hard wall that would get blown out in about five minutes. Never get greedy.... Nice job keeping the video solid, I know how hard that can be on a long video.

Possible the best job in the world!
meanwhile I have to cover dirt piles with plastic, straw all exposed dirt use catch basin socks and silt fence from prop corner to prop corner so no sediment gets into the local streams.

Was someone loading that “loader” with a shovel?

The red smashed Car behind the left excavator. Was it destroyed by the flood ?
Just read the description. 4 mile creek on 4 mile road 5 miles away.
Unbelievable how good such an excavator can drive though rivers. With a regular car it would have been dodgy to drive through the water on the road already, and that excavator just drives upstream though the middle of the current :-)
the fact that the excavator weight the same as about 15 cars helps a lot
***** , some people just dont understand, lol.

@@DangerousDan666 and the motor is out of the water
Excellent footage, good angles, great video
that guy did a damn good job
uhh... could tell it wasn't his machine, the way he was operating it.
About 80% of your property taxes go to Schools, teachers pensions etc - this is funded by generally 1% of it & makes life easier for moving about. Food for thougt
I'll bet there's some gold in that....

I simply must get busy with my work. But! This stuff is magical. Mesmerizing. It's got to be XY stuff. You know, it's a man thing.
What is the loader doing? not much wasting fuel seems like
Pemandangan yang indah dan menarik
good work
good job
Paid by the hour....lol. Loader brings a quarter yard in a 3 yard bucket.
lmao
City workers 🤣🤣🤣
1/4 yard? That looked like 8-10 shovel fulls.
I wonder if there was bits of gold dug up?
nice job
By the power of Klangg this flood shall cease and desist!!!
Exilent job

Kind of nice of them to make a new swimming hole for the kiddies.
the wheel loader is inefficient with that load

never mind the drives this comment sounds like a set up for a track fluid joke
pfow2006 nah I was actually wondering if the fluids would've had to have been changed. I've never been around an excavator.
He just needs to clean any mud off before the lowbed shows up to get it. Every thing is fine. Sealed up sr.
Did they ever finished moving dirt and rocks???🤔
okey... i understand.. nice work...
I've been there. Thats the sound.
