Here are some 2018 footage when I face issues with my Sonic Land Speeder.
Before making the video description, I had to fix inside mechanism and this video shows you how to fix this.

First of all… thank you for your book!!! What an amazing collection you have!!! The book is on my Star Wars vintage toy shelf and is a phenomenal read!!!
Lastly, this video helped me get my recently acquired Sonic Landspeeder back up and running. The symptoms were the same as were the damaged parts. It is now fixed, working and has a place in my collection. Thank you again from a small town in Pennsylvania called Monaca!!!

Nice video - i always wondered what one of these was like. Personally, I might have replaced the broken gear as I have not had great luck gluing those in the past. I believe a lot of those gears are the same as in other vintage SW toys and can be found on ebay on old motors.

Hello, Great video thanks. I found this video since I've just been checking the problem with my Sonic landpseeder. It's the exact same problem as yours except in the front wheel assembly there is no broken gear at all so I will need to buy a suitable replacement. Could you please let me know the diameter and thickness of the gear you have?I think it has 8 teeth and once I have your measurements I'll see if I can buy a replacement on ebay. Thanks!
Hello, it's a 8 teeth all right but I as far as I remember the length should be around 5 to 7 millimeter and diameter up to 6 or 7 millimeter (not sure at 100% 'cause I've done the video nearly 3 years ago) . To escape a replacement part and because the gears get loose thought the years, you can also a add a tiny drop of glue between both gear and the drive shaft. That will fix the problem to run the engine.
@@ChroniqueVintage Thanks so much. I've learnt that the pinion I need has 8 teeth and the hole bore is 2mm so the pionion is a type M82 ! Just needed the diameter and length I think I've seen 6mm M82's so will give them a go. 👌

Thank you for your compliments ! I don't know if anyone is making any repo (like 3D printing) or not but I believe it is possible to get some from a model kit store. I remember first while fixing the toy, checking on the web and found many websites selling wheels but like a set a minimum ten or twenty items each so I came back to the idea of gluing the original gear. About the exact frequency that really don't know. You have this blue key to set frequency but there is no reference or what so ever inside or outside the toy. Take Care
you skipped over the most important part, the electronic component testing and troubleshooting... off to look for another sonic landspeeder repar videos. UGH!
The electronic is very sensitive indeed. I was lucky enough to get only the gear broken on this one so I did a video about the broken part to help others to fix their own speeder.

My land speeder is also working but not the r2d2 clicker, I don’t have the blue plastic adjuster and it said never use a metal screwdriver. Suggestions anyone?
