    I live in Western Montana and have a 2019 mule pro mx with the power steering, full glass windshield, soft cab, warn plow, chains for all 4 wheels, warn 3500 winch with synthetic line. I have almost 800 miles of plowing snow, driving trails and forest service roads and working around my property dragging logs, hauling brush, dirt, rocks ect. I’m overall very impressed with this machine. Small and nimble for those steep, tight trails, and plowing tight places, but heavy and powerful enough to pull more than you think it should be able to. It also makes hunting season a lot nicer.
    Only issues I’ve ever had were with the accessories, and those issues were due to truly heavy duty use. Not one single issue with the actual machine, from -15f and 3 ft of snow to 100 degrees running trails at 8000 ft. It just works. My friends machines made by that polar company. Always in the shop.

    Also double handed tail gate latch’s are more durable & easier to fix if the load shifts to one side or the other. Superior design to single latch.

A green one showed up and I drove quite a ways to get it, I had them add the Kawasaki roof and camo seat covers. It's an impressive machine and it's much bigger in person!

    Great review. This is a true UTV. Kawasaki didn't try to please everyone when they designed this machine. They built it rugged to last,simple and reliable, note,single cylinder engine. I want to see more videos on this machine showing maintainence, any problems and improvements if needed.

    I have a 2019. Used on terrain similar to yours with a bit more elevation. Interesting that they are now limited to 40mph. Mine will show 45 before the fuel cuts out. These are wonderful woods workhorses. It's a modern Yamaha Rhino in terms of power and capabilities other than slightly slower top end and much higher payload and towing capacity. I have mine kitted out now including heat soft door uppers and rear window with the glass windshield. My favorite accessories so far are the seat cover and the heater. It has been stone reliable since October of 2019 now showing 70 some hours with real world usage in a pretty steep environment. The engine braking is excellent. It's due to the clutch system that is used. Ride is pretty plush. Low speed is quite comfortable. Mine came std with power steering and I would recommend it on this machine. These machines impress, but not in the way most people are looking to be impressed. I'm hoping to get 10+ years from mine as I see no need to 'upgrade' in the future.

    • @TrailPass
      @TrailPass  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Much of our terrain is pretty steep as well and the engine braking and power steering really help make it a relaxing ride. What seat cover did you purchase?

      @@TrailPass I bought Kawasaki's in camo for some contrast. Fits is really good and feel substantial enough to protect the vinyl well. Many of my accessories are from Kawasaki because most for the aftermarket has been ignoring the MX for some reason.

      @@triple6758 ok thanks, I'll check it out! I'm not sure why this machine doesn't get much coverage. Like you said it's not super "exciting" but it does everything that we need it to do. It's a great package right from the factory and I feel the price is very reasonable. We previously had the Mule 610/SX and I can't even begin to describe how much more of an improvement that the MX is over that other machine.

      The bench seat on the MX is certainly a lot bigger, but it's still not designed for 3 people since it only has 2 seat belts. The 610 seat is very similar to golf cart size where the MX feels about a foot wider. You could fit 3 in the MX in a pinch for sure

    I have a 2021. Use it on my property in Oregon mostly for clearing wood on muddy steep terrain. Put a roof on mine and jumped the seatbelt safety switch as I'm often in and out of it while working. It'll pull surprisingly large logs and stumps. I have an off road trailer rated at 1500 lbs and can load the trailer and bed with log rounds and it pulls it well. I have had some fueling problems with it, twice it has stumbled then died, wouldn't start. Pulled the spark plug, it was wet and black, changed plugs and it started right up. Odd for a fuel injected 4 stroke to do that. I keep spare plugs in the glove box now. Some belt squeal from the cvt tranny but its never slipped. Simple to maintain, built like its meant to work. Dealers in my are are asking way over msrp right now. Got mine 8 months ago but had to pay just below msrp.

      @@TrailPass Thank you. We are considering one of these for our ranch. We need to be able to pull a two wheel bale cart that transports a 1200+ pound round hay bale. And we need to be able to do most of the service ourselves. We currently use a Yamaha Kodiak 700 EPS 4wd to do that. We are thinking the Mule might be more versatile. Is the locker switch for the front or rear? Or are these always locked In the rear? I think I’d rather just buy a quad but it seems like people get rid of quads for side by sides.

    • @RPG-oh1yf

      Not sure if the locker also locks the front end, I'm pretty sure it's just the rear though. @@jure1503 I would like to know this also. My folks have a 2019 SX XC mule with a 4.2 gal tank and that thing goes about 10 hours on one tank at an average speed of about 6 mph, so based on Kawasaki liking their machines to all get similar range from one tank of fuel I'm going to make the assumption that if you ride it easy, don't idle it a lot that 10 hours on a 9.5 gal tank is possible or perhaps 60-70 miles if it's non-stop. Single cylinder engines are about as efficient as you can get.
