Hi! I've just started blood bank training at work and I am ever so thankful for these videos , it really explains the background of why we do things and makes it so much easier yo understand! again thank you for making these videos
Hey queen! I just learned this in blood banking and will be taking a quiz on it in 9 hours. This was a really helpful video! I also love you for my clinical chemistry course. Keep being amazing for us students ❤️
Thanks a lot for the helpful video. Excuse me but can you help me solve this one? 17-year-old Korean man with no specific history. He donated his blood for the first time. His blood group is O(+). In cell typing, both anti-A and anti-B were negative, anti-AB (-), anti-A1(-), anti-H (4+). In serum typing, A cell(-) and B cell(-). He was not diagnosed with hypogammaglobulinemia.
Both of my parents are A+, I’m A2, when I was born everything was fine but when my (little) brother was born, he was yellow and had to be in a incubator, also had to have sun baths after he was released (and there was the probability that would stay a bit longer in the hospital). My question is, would HDN happen due subgroup incompatibility?

Group 1 discrepancy? Or was there a mix-up with the serum tube? Does it belong to another patient?

Only if the antibodies produced are IgG. It could also just had an immature liver. It’s not uncommon
