This might actually be a strong build tho, in a world where everyone immediately dies, so many absurdly high shields guarantees being alive for about 10 seconds
Shadowflame. Passive : Dealing magic damage to champions ignores 10 − 20 (based on target's current health) of their magic resistance, increased to maximum value if they were affected by a shield within the last 5 seconds.
@@rocknroller3000shadowflame is completely useless against shields since you just get some bonus damage but you still have to first get through the shield to even do damage
I got into Brian's Leagu of Graphs to look at the build in detail and if you look at the game gold graph you see they were being stompped to the ground, like, the enemy team had almost a 10k gold lead, and didn't even match with damage (50k top damage from ezreal vs 40k damage from Brian in his team). I really makes you think how league is more than just an "economy game" that a lot of pro-players, coaches or casual players say it is. The build if anyone was wondering: Runes: Conqueror - Trumph - Legend: Alacrity - Coup de Grace // resolve tree: shield bash & revitalize. You can see the items ingame but anyways, to have everything together, in order of buy: Eclipse - Sterak's - Ionian boots - tear - Gargoyle - Fimbulwinter - Black Cleaver. P.S. I really enjoy playing Vi and she is my 3rd most played champion. I am not even ranked lmao, but I enjoy theorycrafting and this build seems quite nice, tbh. If they build antishields you are completely fucked, but that won't happen pretty much in low elo, maybe the AP will build Shadowflame but I bet you most poeple down here don't even know about Serpent's Fang LMAO. Anyways, what I was about to say is on regard of the item order. I think it may depend on how the game is going and who you are vs'ing, etc. But in a general idea I think it should be like this: Eclipse - tear (perhaps in-between the build up of Eclipse, tho it may delay your damage etc) - Ioanian boots (or boots in general) - Winter's Approach - Sterak's - Cleaver - Gargoyle. P.S.S. It would be nice, mr Brian, of you to show the stats after game, like this one was all around the damage value of Shield Bash, but we didn't get to see the total damage it dealt. If not showing the graph at the end, may at least having it in the game layout instead of the champ stats. Just a thing I think some of us would enjoy. Great video regardless !!!
Economy games mostly only happen in higher elos, and especially pro play. The reason for that is because people are a lot closer in skill level in those heights. Gold players for example are in the same league, but are very much varied in skill and mechanical level. You can get a typical 0/7/2 Yasuo, or a rampaging 12 cs/min Yasuo OTP. Personally speaking, I don't have any experience past masters but I can probably say this, at least for sheer champion mechanics, plat and above are really not that much different. Gold even. Macro is usually the greater gap between those ranks. And well, I can understand why. You can't really teach a gold top laner how to manage their wave smoothly to their favor, or a gold jungler how to path properly and to catch waves for their laners. Those "skills" are more like senses than actually by-the-books learnable skills.
"Pro-players, coaches, or casual players"--pal, I'm gonna stop you there. I've never met a casual player call their games "economy-based". Pro-players and coaches actually know what they're talking about, so obviously this game is largely economical. Gold leads can heavily impact a game if everyone on either team knows what they're doing. You would never see someone like Brian, who inted that stupidly within the first five minutes, in a pro gameplay matchup. Brian is good, but he is not pro; thus a comeback is easily manageable. He is playing against people who are also not pros, therefore they are likely to make a mistake that will cost them the game, regardless of how much of a lead they have. In low elo, gold is still very important, as it gives you a huge item lead on your opponents. However, as it is low elo, players are bound to get greedy, throw their leads, int, and forget the macro gameplay. The entire objective of the game is to destroy turrets and defeat the nexus; in fact, it is the first thing you learn in the tutorials. Killing is just a way to get an advantage over the other team. Low elo players often focus on kills instead of the game objectives, which will almost always cost them the game (unless the enemy team surrenders because they also think kills are important enough to have lost them the game). Gold advantage does not matter in this elo because it is the last thing people are thinking of in this elo. Even casual players don't give a shit about gold. When neither team cares about gold, either team has an equally likely chance at winning. In high elo matches, gold leads are indeed very important. Is it still possible to win without a gold lead in high elo? Yes, but it is extremely unlikely as the odds are greatly stacked against you. In Challenger elo, you're not going to be playing against people who waste flashes only to die from such a dumb mistake (unless they were boosted). As such, it's harder to exploit mistakes that the enemy is unlikely to make. This is why gold advantage matters; you get your items first, your enemy is screwed. While I do enjoy your theorycrafting ideas and your general excitement for playing Vi, I do still think your first remark is so incredibly misinformed. No, economy isn't the biggest deal in low elo, but that is because it's low elo and everyone plays like poo. In higher elos, where gameplay actually does matter, gold advantage is a big deal.
Vi is already beyond annoying at killing you then leaving immediatly after, so a Vi who kills you, runs away and have tons of shields is gonna be even more annoying. Good job on winning.
He flashed over the wall towards the blue buff. There is a split second of senna losing vision around the corner towards blue buff and you can see he shows up at 7:41 again over by blue buff

Bro, spirit visage would have literally been +25% shielding, way more than black cleaver

Not showing the after game shielding stats is criminal

fun fact: the enemy team had a yasuo.
