Let this sink in. The Warriors were in the play in this year and essentially didn’t make the playoffs because of Draymond and his 20 game suspension. KD left the Warriors in his prime mainly because of Draymond. Warriors probably lost to the Cavs because of Draymond suspension. Their first ring Lebron didn’t have Kyrie or Love, his next 2 best players. No one can survive that. Essentially what I am saying is that Draymond is lucky that organization loves him because he has cost them more than he has gotten them. A dozen other players could have fit in easily and won those titles with KD.

The thing is that KD does get credit for what he did with the Warriors, however when you're one of the 75 best players ever and someone who many consider a top 20 player of all time, the manner in which you accomplished your championships has to be taken into account, when comparing you to your other elite peers. I still believe that Stephen Curry is a superior player to Kevin Durant in terms of overall historical leadership and impact. Look, imma be real, as a massive KD fan my expectations for KD went from "Championships" to "hopefully can make a conference finals" as soon as I found out he tore his achilles. Even after he came back and pretty much all of his stats looked the same or better I saw as a fan that he wasn't the same. His explosiveness is gone, he gets tired faster because of age and injury history, his legs are usually gone by the 4th quarter. If his technique and skill weren't so good and combined with his insane height, bro would look like Klay Thompson right now. This western conference is crazy stacked but the Suns have had their way with the T-wolves this season. I honestly expect a 2nd round exit for the Suns this year but losing to the 3 seed that will likely have the 4x DPOY on it and has one of the best defenses in the league isn't exactly shameful. The west is going to be WILD this year though.

I'm not trying to make this about LeBron.... I'm not...but how is KD going to Golden State not the ultimate example of how good he is? The greatest regular season team of all time went begging for the incredibly talented and future HOF player in KD to join them just so they could beat Cleveland. KD isn't an all time top 10 player, but if he doesn't get hurt again, he will be knocking on that door and the fact that he and Golden State had to link up just to beat Lebron is always lost in the sauce.
There hasn't been much expectations on kd since he tore his Achilles and he hasn't been the same since no matter what the numbers may suggest
I think the worst thing to happen to KDs legacy so far was the warriors winning a championship and then followed that up with the greatest regular season of all time and a loss in Game 7 of the finals by single digits. If the warriors never won that championship before KD then they ain’t having these types of discussions
