On the one hand this is really interesting, like the fact that bamboo species can grow the length of an adult human in a day, and have mass spawnings that even going to a different continent can't stop. On the other hand, the bamboo doesn't seem to be killing the panda, that seems to be the human want for more habitat space, along with the quirky maturation of the gigantic grass. So the title seems out of place. I thought it was going to be about how bamboo is so fiberous and nutrient poor, the panda starves to death. I've heard sloths can have something similar happen to them, where the microbes that digest their food get out of whack and the poor creature can't digest their food even with a full stomach.

yup. numbers are pretty stable currently and even recovering, thanks to Decades of conservation efforts. But a few unlucky bamboo flowerings and it was all for nothing.
Facts in Motion ok that's now a scary thought. But another situation is worse for the Javan rhino. Their global population is 60 or above and supposedly all of them are in 1 national park right beside a volcano so... Yeah. Not only that but disease or a mass poaching crisis could occur! Efforts are underway to create a second population elsewhere to make sure that doesn't happen!

They want to try to artificially fertilize them but even if that works they still only have 3 rhinos left...
Fun fact, chicken evolved alongside bamboo and the flowering that occurs ~50 years is what the chickens took advantage of to produce an egg a day. Humans found out that if you gave them ample food that biomechanism never shut off. Very beneficial to have an egg laying machine around the house

I can't find a supporting article, but I've heard of pandas in the U.S. being fed shoots from what we call cane here, but it is actually a variety of bamboo.
So if pandas can eat bamboo native to the U.S., surely they can eat more than one kind in their native habitat. Of course there are different types of pandas and maybe some have more restricted diets than others.
Maybe you should use Google before you start calling people "Dumbo" and making yourself look like a Dumbo in the process. Five minutes of work could save you some serious shame.
Thing is, according to this video, the bamboo needs the 100% die off for the next generation of seedlings to thrive. If you had, say, 20 different species comprising a bamboo forested, evenly distributed, then after one of them flowered the remaining 19 would remain to choke out the young shoots from the flowering one and kill them off.

The problem is also their digestive stystem that looks more like that of a carnivore, and it doesen't combine well with an herbivore diet only. They do not only need to find their particular speices that they eat, they have to eat cupious amounts of it too to sustain themselves because of how fast the relatively low calorie bamboo passes through their body.
Neat vid, but the fix for this is extremely easy if it hasnt been done already, mixing different bamboo species with different life spans, I have bamboo in my yard (my grandfather got a feed seeds back in the 80s) and currently parts of them are indeed dying off, that being said, the overwhelming majority is perfectly fine, so its not an issue like you make it out to be

Pandas eat bamboo all day and only get like 30% nutrition from bamboo. Why can't we get a fresh batch of pandas and teach them to hunt for small animals such as rabbits they can eat meat so I think they would get more adrenaline be less lazy and maybe even reproduce more. I heard bamboo has alot more sugar then most plants so I would assume pandas currently just have a bad addiction to the bamboo and got lazy over time because it's easier to eat and sleep all day rather then hunt and hibernate

Also, chickens basically evolved in the same habitats and flourish when given bamboo outcroppings to hide within. I've seen this in a few spots and it works great, even seems to calm down roosters a bit from being anxious and aggressive since the flock can just take cover in the bamboo

Actually, the way Bamboo reproduces is incredible. Nature is far from stupid. It has done the impossible for more than 1B years.

Bamboo has a wonderful survival strategy however pandas can barely digest their food, they have extremely hard times finding mates and can’t even defend themselves very well, they also aren’t that important to their ecosystem.

I just think its a little bit too extreme to say that its too late for pandas when the effects your describing are so far into the future, there will probably some sort of way that bamboo forests would be able to recover, China spends tons of money to save its national symbol, and there's no way it would let the bear go extinct in the wild.

To be fair, once a species has reached the point in terms of numbers where they in no way fill the purpose they once did in the ecosystem, what is actually the point of them dying out? I am not talking about killing remaining pandas here, but rather not forcing breeding on a species that has unfortunately been driven to extinction, while also making sure the last remaining pandas have nice lives until their species ultimately dies out
